Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 403 Crisis Approaches Again, Remain Calm
Chapter 403
The earth trembled violently, as if it might crack open at any moment. The dark shadow rising from the crack in the ground grew clearer and clearer, and a suffocating sense of oppression enveloped the entire battlefield. I squinted, trying hard to make out the true face of the dark shadow.
It was a colossal beast, one I had never seen before, an unbelievably enormous creature! Its body was like a mountain, covered in thick, black scales, each gleaming with a metallic sheen. It had a ferocious head, two enormous, scarlet eyes that gleamed with bloodlust, and a massive mouth full of sharp fangs, seemingly capable of devouring everything. The terrifying aura emanating from it, even from this distance, sent a chill down my spine.
"What kind of monster is this?!" the Beastmaster Yi exclaimed, his voice filled with fear.
I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Everyone be careful, this could be the dark forces' ultimate weapon!"
Just then, a figure suddenly swept past us and rushed towards the dark behemoth. It was the Thallium Warrior! He was agile and fast as lightning, arriving in front of the behemoth in the blink of an eye.
"Roar!" The behemoth let out a deafening roar, and its huge claws slammed down on the metallurgical warrior.
The thallium warrior neither dodged nor evaded, but instead charged towards the giant claw. His fists were clenched, and his whole body radiated a dazzling light as he slammed his fist into the beast's claw.
With a deafening roar, the giant beast's claws were knocked back, and the metallurgical warrior was sent flying by the immense force. But he did not give up; after regaining his footing, he charged at the giant beast once more.
I was dumbfounded. The thallium warrior was incredibly powerful! Every move he made was full of power, and he fought against that enormous beast without being at a disadvantage.
"He... he actually managed to fight that monster head-on!" the Beastmaster Yi said in disbelief.
I nodded, filled with admiration. The courage and strength of the thallium warriors are something we should all learn from.
"Let's go!" I shouted, charging forward first. Su Yao, Yi Beastmaster, and other allies followed suit, joining the battle.
Although our individual strength was no match for the behemoth, our excellent teamwork and the use of various tactics and skills allowed us to relentlessly attack it. While the behemoth was powerful, it could not withstand the combined assault of all of us.
The battle was incredibly fierce; we all fought with all our might. I summoned my tamed beast and fought alongside it, launching attack after attack on the behemoth.
Su Yao stood beside me, her longsword flashing like the wind, streaks of sword energy slicing through the air as she struck the giant beast. As she fought, she glanced at me with concern, her eyes filled with worry. She gripped my hand tightly, her palms sweaty, conveying her tension.
I sensed her worry and gave her a reassuring look. "Don't worry, I'm fine."
Just then, the leader of the dark forces suddenly burst into laughter. "Hahaha, you think you can defeat my ultimate weapon like this? How naive!" he said, raising his hands again and muttering incantations.
An even more powerful dark energy emanated from him and flowed into the behemoth's body. The behemoth's body began to swell, and its aura became even more terrifying.
"Oh no!" My heart sank, a strong sense of unease washing over me. What...what was he going to do now? The beast had more than doubled in size, its roar nearly shattering my eardrums. The terrifying pressure emanating from it made it difficult to breathe. Su Yao looked at me worriedly, her hand gripping mine tightly. I could feel the sweat on her palms and the tension she conveyed. I squeezed her hand back, giving her a reassuring look.
"We have to find a way to stop it!" I shouted, my voice hoarse with tension.
The strategist, Jinbo, wore a grave expression as he quickly analyzed the current situation. "This behemoth's power originates from dark energy; we must sever its connection with the leader of the dark forces!"
"Sever the connection? Easier said than done!" The thallium warrior sneered. "Tell me, how do you sever it?" He had been fighting the behemoth at close range and had already sustained several wounds, but he did not back down. Instead, he fought with increasing ferocity.
“We can use formations…” The strategist was interrupted by the thallium warrior before he could finish speaking.
"A formation? Do you think we have time to set up a formation under these circumstances?" the thallium warrior roared. "The only way now is to attack with all our might and hold it off!"
The two disagreed, and suddenly, a rift appeared within our organization. I was extremely anxious; this couldn't go on. We had to reach a consensus as soon as possible, otherwise we would just be wasting time.
“The thallium warrior is right, now is not the time to set up an array,” I said. “However, we cannot attack blindly either. We need a more effective attack strategy.”
I looked at Su Yao, and a glint flashed in her eyes. "Perhaps we can attack its weakness."
"Weakness?" I looked at her in confusion.
Su Yao pointed to the giant beast's eyes, "Look at its eyes. Although they emit a red light, they seem somewhat empty. Perhaps that is its weakness."
Her analysis was a revelation. Indeed, although the giant beast's eyes looked terrifying, they seemed to lack some spirit.
"Alright, let's focus our attack on its eyes!" I gave the order immediately.
We readjusted our attack strategy, focusing all firepower on the behemoth's eyes. However, things didn't go as smoothly as we'd hoped. The behemoth's eyes seemed to possess a special protection, and our attacks failed to inflict any real damage.
Worse still, the behemoth's attacks became increasingly fierce, each strike carrying devastating power, and the defenses we were barely holding up were beginning to crack.
Just then, I noticed a detail. Before each attack, the behemoth's eyes would flash with an eerie purple light.
“That purple light…” I murmured to myself, a terrible guess suddenly forming in my mind.
"Watch out!" Su Yao suddenly shouted and pushed me away.
I dodged the giant beast's attack, but Su Yao was struck by its tail and fell heavily to the ground.
"Su Yao!" I exclaimed and rushed to her side.
She struggled to stand up, but a trickle of blood oozed from the corner of her mouth.
"I...I'm fine..." she said weakly.
Just then, the giant beast's eyes flashed purple light again... What... what is it going to do?
