Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 355 Strengthening Unity
Chapter 355 Strengthening Unity
The blood-covered envoy from Jinda staggered and knelt on the ground, his hoarse voice echoing in the hall: "It's terrible... the other cities... they've all... agreed to surrender!" His words were like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, stirring up ripples. The previously high morale instantly plummeted, and unease spread through the crowd. My heart sank; the fall of the other cities was undoubtedly a huge blow to us.
"How could this be?" Elder Jinhei asked in a trembling voice, his face filled with disbelief.
The envoy struggled to raise his head, blood streaming down his forehead, blurring his vision. "The Dark Lord's army... is too powerful... they..." He coughed violently, blood gushing out, "They threatened... if we don't surrender... they'll massacre the entire city..."
Fear spread rapidly like a plague, and many beast tamers' eyes began to flicker, their once firm beliefs wavering. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. I knew that at this crucial moment, I absolutely could not lose my composure.
"Quiet down, everyone!" My voice, infused with spiritual power, resounded throughout the hall like a booming bell, silencing the panicked crowd. "I know you're all scared right now, but fear won't solve anything!"
I walked over to the envoy from Jinda, helped him up, and asked in a low voice, "Which cities have not yet fallen?"
The envoy from Jinda weakly shook his head: "No more... except for us... all the cities... are gone..."
"No, there's still one more!" A clear voice rang out, and Su Yao stepped forward, her eyes firm and sharp. "There's still one city that hasn't fallen, and that's us!"
I glanced at Su Yao gratefully; her appearance was like a shot in the arm, rekindling my hope. "Su Yao is right! We haven't lost yet! As long as we unite, we will definitely defeat the Dark Lord!"
I placed my hand on my chest, activating my special beast-taming ability. A warm and powerful force surged from within me, spreading along my arm and eventually enveloping the entire hall. Everyone in the hall felt this power, their eyes filled with surprise and curiosity.
I closed my eyes and, through this power, conveyed my vision of the future of the Beast Taming world to everyone. I showed them a prosperous scene without the rule of a dark lord: Beast Tamers living freely with their beast companions, exploring the mysteries of beast taming together, and protecting this beautiful land. Children happily learned about beast taming, dreaming of becoming powerful beast tamers. All sorts of beasts frolicked and played in the sunlight, displaying their unique charm…
"This is what we've been fighting for!" I opened my eyes, my voice filled with power. "Only through resistance can we have such a future! If we surrender, then all of this will vanish!"
I looked around at the crowd, and hope rekindled in their eyes. I knew my words had touched their hearts, awakening the courage and determination within them.
"We..." Elder Jinhei's lips trembled as he tried to say something.
Suddenly, a sharp voice interrupted him: "This is all just wishful thinking!" The strategist emerged from the shadows, a mocking smile on his face…
"This is all just wishful thinking on your part!" The strategist emerged from the shadows, his shrill voice like a file scraping against my taut nerves. A mocking smile played on his lips, as if everything was under his control. "You think you can change their minds with just a few empty words? You're too naive!"
I stared at him coldly, my anger surging. I knew this man was an envoy sent by the Dark Lord, his purpose being to undermine our will to resist. I took a deep breath, suppressing my rage, and said calmly, "Whether it's wishful thinking or not is not for you to decide. I believe everyone's eyes are discerning; they can distinguish right from wrong and make the right choice."
"The right choice?" Strategist Bo burst into laughter, his voice filled with disdain. "What is the right choice? Is it to eke out a living, or to submit to a powerful force? You so-called beast tamers are nothing but frogs in a well, completely unaware of the Dark Lord's power! Those who submit to me prosper, those who defy me perish—this is an eternal truth!"
"You're wrong!" I took a step forward, looked directly into Jinbo Strategist's eyes, and said, word by word, "True strength is not about conquering with force, but about the conviction within your heart! We Beast Tamers fight side by side with our beast tamers to protect this land. We have the determination to protect our home, and that is true power!"
I felt a warm force behind me; it was Su Yao. She stood behind me, one hand gently resting on my shoulder, her eyes filled with love and pride. Her presence gave me boundless strength. I turned my head, gave her a firm look, and then turned back to Strategist Bo Bo.
“Your so-called offer of amnesty is nothing but a sugar-coated bullet. Once we accept it, it means we’ve given up our freedom and our dignity! We’d rather die standing than live on our knees!” My voice was firm and resounding, echoing in the hall.
Jinbo's face darkened, a glint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes. "You won't listen to reason, so don't blame us for being impolite!"
"What do you want to do?" I stared at him warily, secretly gathering my spiritual energy to prepare for battle.
The strategist did not answer, but instead took out a black crystal ball from his pocket, which emitted an eerie light. He muttered incantations, and the light from the crystal ball grew stronger and stronger, eventually forming a huge black vortex.
"This is..." I felt a chill run down my spine, sensing a powerful sense of oppression.
"This is the power of the Dark Lord!" Strategist Bo grinned sinisterly. "Let me show you true power!"
From within the black vortex, a gigantic black claw slowly emerged, emanating a suffocatingly evil aura… A sinister smile appeared on the strategist’s lips: “It seems I have other ways to ‘persuade’ you…” He gently stroked the black crystal ball, his eyes flashing with an unsettling light.
