Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 320 The Initial Hardships of Alliance Cohesion

I whirled around and saw the Beastmaster standing behind me, his eyes filled with suspicion and hostility. "Do you really trust those people of unknown origin? Will they really help us?" His voice was low and carried a hint of warning.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm the turmoil in my heart. "Beastmaster, I know you have concerns about them, but now we must unite to fight against the demons."

"Unity?" The Beastmaster sneered. "Cooperating with people of unknown origin, you call that unity? I think that's just inviting wolves into the house!"

I frowned. The Beastmaster's words, though harsh, weren't entirely without merit. The mysterious allies' methods were indeed unpredictable; their strength was unfathomable, and their motives unclear. In the past few days, similar doubts had gradually spread throughout the army.

“Beastmaster, I know what you’re worried about,” I softened my tone, “but have you considered that without their help, we simply couldn’t have assembled such a powerful force in such a short time? The fortifications of the Blackwater Swamp, and those new beast-taming formations, were all provided by them. Aren’t these enough to prove their sincerity?” I pointed to the camp in the distance, brightly lit and orderly, all thanks to our cooperation.

The Beastmaster was silent for a moment, glancing around as if pondering my words. I knew he wasn't inflexible; his wariness of this mysterious ally stemmed from a sense of responsibility towards the Beastmaster community.

At this moment, the plutonium envoy rushed over, his face filled with anxiety. "Nong Yu, something bad has happened! Rumors are circulating in the army about our mysterious allies, saying they are actually spies from the demon race, aiming to undermine our strength!"

My heart sank; it seemed things were more serious than I'd imagined. Rumors are often more terrifying than the truth.

I took a deep breath and said loudly, "Everyone! I know you have concerns about our mysterious allies, but please believe me, they are not spies of the demon race! We have been cooperating for so long, and their actions and contributions are evident to all! Are we going to ruin the cooperative relationship we have worked so hard to build just because of some unfounded rumors?"

As soon as I finished speaking, a murmur arose from the crowd. Some expressed their support, while others continued to question. I knew that completely dispelling these doubts would not be a matter of a day or two.

I continued, “I know that trust takes time to build. But now, we don’t have time! The demon army is about to besiege the city. We must unite to fight against this powerful enemy! I believe that as long as we work together, we will definitely be able to defeat the demons and protect our homeland!”

My words were passionate and inspiring. Gradually, the murmurs in the crowd subsided, and more and more people began to express their support.

The Beastmaster's face was grim. He seemed about to say something, but I interrupted him. "Beastmaster," I said, looking at him firmly, "I know you still have doubts about the mysterious ally, but right now, I hope you can consider the bigger picture. We can discuss this properly after this battle is over."

The Beastmaster gave me a deep look, but ultimately said nothing more, only letting out a cold snort before turning and leaving. Watching his departing figure, I felt a vague unease... The Plutonium Envoy wiped the sweat from his brow, walked to my side, and whispered, "Nong Yu, thank you. If it weren't for you, I'm afraid..."

I patted him on the shoulder, signaling him not to worry. However, I knew in my heart that this was far from over. The Beastmaster wouldn't give up so easily; he…

I rubbed my temples, a wave of exhaustion washing over me. Calming the troops was far more draining than fighting the demons. After the Plutonium Envoy left, I stood alone at the edge of the camp, gazing at the distant, rolling mountains, my mind a jumble of thoughts. The demons were pressing in, yet the Beast Taming Realm was rife with internal conflicts; this filled me with immense anxiety.

"Still thinking about the Beast Tamer?" Su Yao's voice came from behind, tinged with worry.

I turned around and saw Su Yao standing behind me, the afterglow of the setting sun bathing her in its light, outlining her beautiful figure. Her clear, bright eyes were filled with understanding and support for me. I nodded, walked to her side, and gently embraced her.

"He won't let this go." I sighed, resting my chin on Su Yao's shoulder, feeling the warmth emanating from her.

“I know,” Su Yao gently stroked my back, “but he doesn’t represent the entire Beast Taming world. I believe most people are reasonable.” Her firm tone was like a warm current flowing into my heart, dispelling the gloom within me.

Su Yao's words gave me tremendous encouragement. I looked up into her powerful eyes, and hope rekindled in my heart. Yes, I couldn't be intimidated by the difficulties before me. I had to pull myself together and lead everyone to fight against the demons!

Just as I was about to go back with Su Yao, the Beast Tamer reappeared. He was followed by several other Beast Tamers, each with a serious expression, their intentions clearly hostile.

“Nong Yu,” the Beast Tamer said firmly, “we’ve discussed it, and for the safety of the Beast Taming world, we must impose stricter restrictions on our mysterious allies. They can no longer freely enter or leave our camp, nor can they access our core secrets.”

My heart sank; I knew he wouldn't give up easily. "Beastmaster, I understand your concerns, but these are extraordinary times, we must..."

"Understand?" The Beast Tamer interrupted me. "What do you understand? Do you understand our worries about these people of unknown origin? Do you understand our worries about the future of the Beast Taming world?"

I took a deep breath, trying to control my emotions. "I know you're worried, but their strength and contributions are undeniable. The Blackwater Swamp's defensive fortifications, the new beast-taming formations..."

"So what?" the Beastmaster interrupted me again. "Who knows if these are traps? Maybe they just want to lull us into a false sense of security and then launch a fatal attack when we're off guard!"

His words were echoed by several beast tamers behind him, and the atmosphere instantly became tense. Su Yao stood beside me, gripping my hand tightly; her resolute gaze gave me immense strength.

Just as I was about to retort, a loud bang came from afar, followed by a violent tremor of the earth.

"What's going on?" everyone exclaimed.

A chill ran through me, and an ominous premonition washed over me. I looked up into the distance and saw a thick plume of black smoke rising from the direction of the Blackwater Swamp, with the faint sound of deafening beast roars.

"It's the demons! They've launched an attack!" someone shouted in terror.

My heart sank. It seemed the forces of darkness were even more impatient than we had imagined. I immediately turned to the Beastmaster and said in a deep voice, "Beastmaster, this is not the time to argue! We must..."

Before I could finish speaking, I saw a figure rushing towards us from afar, arriving in front of us in the blink of an eye. It was the young man, Thor, his face pale and panting heavily.

"It's terrible! The demons... the demons..." he gasped, "The demons have suddenly launched an attack on our outpost! It's not a large-scale attack, but..." He paused, his eyes filled with fear, "They... they've mobilized..."

"What was deployed?" I asked anxiously.

The young man swallowed hard, his voice trembling. "They...they've deployed...a kind of...monster we've never seen before..." He pointed towards the Blackwater Swamp, his voice trailing off. My gaze followed his finger, and there I saw...
