Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 318 Seeking Cooperation to Overcome Differences
“We must make a decision as soon as possible,” I forced myself to calm down, my gaze sweeping over everyone present before finally settling on Pu. “Senior Pu, we appreciate your sincerity in seeking cooperation, but the Beast Taming World needs to see something more practical.” The air around us seemed to freeze, everyone’s eyes fixed on the two of us. I felt my palms sweating slightly, but my tone remained firm.
The plutonium envoy looked anxious, constantly wiping the sweat from his brow. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but was interrupted by a sudden commotion. The demons' attack had come faster than expected, and panic spread through the crowd.
"Now is not the time for infighting!" Su Yao's voice was clear and powerful. She stood beside me, her gaze resolute. "With the Demon Clan at our forefront, we should unite and fight together against the external enemy!"
Her voice quieted the restless crowd slightly. I gave her a grateful look and continued, "Senior Pu, I know you possess great power. Perhaps you could demonstrate your abilities so we can better understand the possibility of cooperation."
Pu gave me a deep look, as if assessing my words. After a moment, he slowly nodded: "I can show you a part, but only the part related to fighting the demons."
I was overjoyed and quickly said, "That's enough."
Pu raised his hand, and a powerful energy wave emanated from him, distorting the surrounding air. He chanted an ancient incantation, and a colossal beast, its entire body gleaming with metallic luster, appeared behind him. I had never seen this beast before; it possessed sharp claws and teeth, enormous metallic wings on its back, and exuded a suffocating aura of power.
I took a deep breath, activating my beast-taming abilities to forge a deeper connection with my beast companion—a pure white spirit fox. I closed my eyes, sensing the fox's power and its perception of this strange behemoth. When I opened my eyes again, a glint of light flashed within them.
“I can simulate some of the abilities of this behemoth,” I said confidently, pointing to the behemoth behind Pu, “and integrate it into our existing beast-taming formation to enhance our defenses.” As I spoke, I traced complex formation patterns in the air with my fingers, and under my guidance, the power of the spirit fox gradually transformed into an energy form similar to that of the metal behemoth.
The surrounding beast tamers gasped in amazement, and some who had initially been skeptical began to seriously consider the matter.
"This... how is this possible?" The Beast Tamer stared at me in disbelief. "You can actually simulate the Holy Venerable's beast taming..."
I ignored his questions and continued demonstrating my concept, integrating the simulated abilities into the beast-taming formation, and explaining in detail how to use this power to fight against the demons. My explanation was clear and organized, making my ideas clear to everyone present.
“This is indeed a feasible plan,” a respected elder nodded approvingly. “If it succeeds, our defensive capabilities will be greatly enhanced.”
More and more beast tamers began to express their support, and a weight was finally lifted from my heart. However, just when I thought things were about to break through, the beast tamer suddenly sneered: "Hmph, that sounds nice, but who knows if it's true? What if this is just a trick of theirs..."
Before he could finish speaking, a deafening roar echoed from afar. The earth trembled violently, and a powerful surge of demonic energy swept in from a distance… My expression changed, and I looked at Pu, saying in a deep voice, “We…”
"We must act immediately!" I shouted. That loud noise was clearly a prelude to the demons breaching the outer defenses. Damn it, of all times!
The beast tamer crossed his arms, his face full of disdain: "Action? Cooperate with these guys of unknown origin? I think you've been misled by them!" He turned to the beast tamers around him and said loudly, "Gentlemen, do you really believe these guys of unknown origin? They keep saying they want to cooperate, but who knows if they have ulterior motives? Maybe they want to take advantage of the chaos to seize our resources!"
His words resonated with many, and even some previously wavering beast tamers began to sway, echoing his sentiments. I felt a headache coming on; this Naib beast tamer was a complete troublemaker!
Su Yao walked to my side, gently took my hand, and gave me an encouraging look. Her hand was warm and strong, like a warm current flowing into my heart, gradually calming my previously anxious emotions. I knew that no matter what happened, she would be on my side, and that was enough.
I took a deep breath and looked at the Beastmaster again: "Senior Nai, I know you have concerns about them, but now is not the time to argue about these things! The demons are already at our gates, and we must unite to fight them! Do you want to see our homeland destroyed by the demons?"
"Hmph, what a high-sounding statement!" The Beastmaster sneered. "Who knows if you're in cahoots with them, deliberately luring the demons to attack us?"
This is utter nonsense! I suppressed my anger and was about to retort when I heard Pu's cold voice: "Enough."
He took a step forward, and an immense pressure instantly enveloped the entire area, causing everyone to fall silent involuntarily. His gaze swept over everyone present, finally settling on the Beastmaster: "I understand your doubts. But now, I'm giving you two choices: either cooperate, or get out."
His tone left no room for argument, and his powerful aura made it hard for the beast tamer to breathe. His face flushed red, and he wanted to retort, but he dared not look directly into Pu's eyes. In the end, he could only lower his head and snort angrily.
Seeing that he was no longer interfering, I breathed a slight sigh of relief and quickly pressed my advantage, explaining my battle plan in detail and requesting that Pu demonstrate more of our cooperative abilities. Pu did not refuse; he chanted the ancient incantation again, and the metal behemoth behind him let out a deafening roar, unleashing an even more powerful energy wave…
After a heated discussion, we finally reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation. I breathed a sigh of relief, wiped the sweat from my brow, and felt like I had fought a tough battle. However, I knew that this was just the beginning.
"Regarding the specific battle plan..." Pu's voice was deep and powerful, carrying an undeniable air of authority. His gaze fell on me, "We still need to discuss this further..."
