Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 317 First Encounter with the Mysterious Helper
The energy surged even more violently, like a volcano about to erupt, its terrifying pressure threatening to crush us. I felt short of breath, as if a huge rock was pressing on my chest. Su Yao gripped my hand tightly, her face pale, but she remained steadfastly beside me.
"Back off!" Elder A shouted, shielding us behind him. The staff in his hand gleamed, clearly indicating that he was ready for battle.
Just then, the energy suddenly dispersed, revealing the figure hidden within. A person dressed in a black robe, their face concealed by a hood, slowly emerged. With each step they took, the surrounding space seemed to tremble slightly.
"Friend or foe?" Elder A's voice was deep and solemn, and the light from the staff in his hand shone even brighter.
I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down. Now was not the time to back down; I had to figure out where this force came from.
"I'll do it!" I pushed Elder A's hand away and strode towards the mysterious man. Su Yao tried to stop me, but I held her tightly in my hand.
"Who are you?" I asked loudly, trying to make my voice sound less shaky.
The mysterious man stopped and slowly raised his head. His hood fell down, revealing a sharply defined face. His eyes were deep and cold, as if they could see right through people. A powerful pressure emanated from him, making it almost impossible for me to stand.
“Pu.” He uttered only one word, his voice low and hoarse, yet carrying an undeniable air of authority.
"Pu?" I murmured the name to myself, but I had no recollection of it.
"The Beast Taming Saint!" Elder A exclaimed in surprise, his expression becoming even more solemn.
The Beast Taming Saint! That's the most powerful being in the Beast Taming world!
My heart skipped a beat, and I finally understood this person's identity. He was the legendary Beast Taming Saint, whose strength was unfathomable!
"We're here to help you." Pu's voice was still low, but it carried a hint of barely perceptible fatigue.
Help us? Are they here to support us?
A glimmer of hope ignited in my heart, but at the same time, I was filled with doubt. Why would they help us? What was their purpose?
Before I could even ask, two more people appeared behind Pu. One was short and stout, holding a feather fan, and looked like a strategist; the other was a boy about my age, his face full of curiosity.
"This is Uranium Strategist, and this is Thorium," Protactinium briefly introduced the two.
Uranium strategist smiled slightly and cupped his hands in greeting to us, while Thorium looked at us curiously, his eyes filled with a thirst for knowledge.
“We…” I was about to speak when I was interrupted.
"Who are they?" a voice came from the crowd, tinged with doubt and hostility.
I turned my head and saw a beast tamer wearing silver armor walk out. He was tall and had sharp eyes; you could tell at a glance that he was not someone to be trifled with.
“A beast tamer,” Elder A said in a low voice.
The Beastmaster walked up to us, his gaze sweeping coldly over Pu and the others, and said in a deep voice, "Their origins are unknown, we cannot easily trust them."
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
"I think..." I was about to speak...
“I think we should find out what’s going on first.” I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. The appearance of the Beastmaster made me uneasy; his hostility was too obvious, even bordering on provocative.
"Know the situation? They appeared suddenly and are so powerful, who knows what their purpose is?" The Beastmaster sneered. "Perhaps they want to take advantage of our weakness and wipe us out in one fell swoop!"
His words resonated with some of the beast tamers around him, who nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with suspicion and wariness. I felt an immense pressure on my shoulders. I knew that if this matter wasn't handled properly, it could trigger conflict within the beast taming world, or even lead to a greater disaster.
Su Yao gently squeezed my hand, her eyes filled with worry, but I could feel her trust and support. I smiled slightly at her, indicating that she didn't need to worry. I needed to calm down and find a solution.
“Lord Pu, the Beastmaster, could you please explain your purpose?” I turned to Pu, trying to remain as respectful as possible.
Pu was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "We come from a faraway place, and our world is facing a huge crisis. We need your help."
His tone was calm and sincere, but I could sense the weariness and helplessness hidden beneath the calm.
"Crisis? What crisis?" The Beastmaster pressed on, "Explain clearly, don't be vague!"
The Uranium Strategist stepped forward, waving his feather fan, and smiled, "Neptune Beastmaster, please be patient. Our purpose here is to seek cooperation to jointly fight a powerful enemy."
"A common enemy?" I frowned, my mind filled with doubt.
“Yes,” the Uranium Strategist nodded, “this enemy is powerful enough to threaten the safety of both our worlds.”
His words gave me a jolt, and I suddenly realized that this matter might be more complicated than I had imagined.
"Hmph, empty words are no proof!" The Beast Tamer still refused to believe it. "Who knows if what you're saying is true or false?"
At this moment, the thorium boy, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up: "It's true! Our world really is..."
Before he could finish speaking, the uranium strategist stopped him with a look.
I keenly sensed that the uranium strategist seemed to be hiding something.
“We are willing to show our sincerity,” Pu spoke again, his voice carrying an undeniable authority. “We will do our best to help you resolve your current predicament as a token of our sincerity in cooperating.”
His words sparked a flurry of discussion among the surrounding beast tamers, and some began to waver, for the promise of a Beast Taming Saint carried immense weight.
"Plutonium Envoy, what do you think?" Elder A turned to the Plutonium Envoy, who had remained silent.
The plutonium envoy wiped the sweat from his brow. He looked immensely stressed. After a moment's hesitation, he slowly said, "I think... we can start by..."
Before he could finish speaking, a commotion suddenly arose in the distance.
"What's going on?" My heart tightened, and a bad feeling welled up inside me.
"It seems... the demons are attacking again..." A beast tamer ran over in a panic.
"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath, feeling even more irritated.
The appearance of the protactus made the already chaotic situation even more perplexing.
I took a deep breath, looked at Pu, and said in a low voice, "We..."
