Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 308 Ambush on the Beast Taming Realm
A dark, imposing army surged in like a tidal wave, quickly filling my entire field of vision. Fear, like a cold, serpentine snake, coiled around my heart, making it almost impossible for me to breathe. The sight was a hundred times more terrifying than any nightmare I could imagine. The boundless darkness devoured all light, as if the end of the world had arrived.
"What...what is that?" The boy's voice trembled violently, fear completely taking over his heart.
The bismuth tamer's face also turned extremely grim, and he said in a deep voice, "This is bad... It's the army of the dark forces!"
The forces of darkness—this name haunts the entire Beast Taming Realm like a nightmare. They are brutal and bloodthirsty, seeking to rule everything. And now, this terrifying power is truly before us.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. Fear won't solve anything; the most important thing now is to figure out how to deal with the crisis at hand.
"Don't panic, everyone!" I shouted. "We may be outnumbered, but we're not without a chance!" My voice was trembling, but I had to appear calm and give the others hope.
I quickly analyzed the situation. We were outnumbered and a direct confrontation was out of the question. We had to rely on the terrain to buy time and wait for reinforcements.
"Bismuth Beastmaster, you lead a group to guard the entrance to the canyon and delay the enemy's advance as much as possible." I quickly issued the order. "Lead Boy, you are responsible for relaying the message. Immediately return to the Beastmaster Realm and report the situation here to the Elders Council."
The two of them immediately obeyed and left. I looked around, my gaze finally settling on Su Yao. Her face was pale, and her breathing was somewhat unsteady; she had clearly expended a great deal of energy in the battle just now.
"Su Yao, how are you?" I asked with concern.
She forced a smile and said, "I'm fine, don't worry about me."
I knew she was putting on a brave face, but her determined gaze gave me tremendous encouragement.
“We must hold this place and wait for reinforcements,” I said in a deep voice.
“I know.” Su Yao nodded.
I looked around and chose a hillside that was easy to defend and difficult to attack as our temporary position. From here, we had a wide field of vision and could effectively observe the enemy's movements.
"Everyone, follow me!" I commanded, and led the remaining beast tamers to quickly occupy the hillside.
The army of dark forces drew ever closer, the earth began to tremble, and a suffocating sense of oppression filled the air.
I gripped my weapon tightly, silently chanting Su Yao's name. I knew this battle would be incredibly brutal, but I had to persevere for everything I cherished.
Suddenly, a dark figure flew out from the enemy ranks with astonishing speed. The figure drew closer and closer, and I finally saw his appearance clearly—a man dressed in black armor, wielding a long spear.
"A Polonium Beastmaster!" My heart sank. He knew a fierce battle was inevitable. His cold gaze swept over us, a cruel smile playing on his lips...
The Polonium Beastmaster, a vanguard general of the dark forces, appeared like a dark cloud hanging over the land, making the already tense atmosphere even more oppressive. His icy gaze seemed to pierce through everything, sending chills down one's spine. That cruel smile further proclaimed the impending bloodshed.
I gripped my weapon tightly, my palms already sweating. Fear surged up like a tidal wave, threatening to overwhelm me. But I couldn't back down. Behind me were Su Yao, the Beast Taming Realm, and everything I had to protect.
Just then, a soft hand gently took my arm. I turned to look and saw Su Yao. Her face was still pale, but her eyes were unusually firm, filled with trust and love.
"Yu, no matter what, I'll always be by your side," she whispered, pressing her body tightly against mine. I could feel her softness, her warmth, and the strength she was giving me.
At that moment, the fear in my heart miraculously vanished. Su Yao's presence was like a reassurance, allowing me to regain my courage and strength. I took her hand in mine, our fingers intertwined, feeling the warmth of her palm.
"Thank you, Su Yao," I said softly, my voice a little hoarse.
She smiled slightly, said nothing, but gripped my hand even tighter.
The Polonium Beastmaster let out a cold laugh, breaking the brief silence.
“A death throes, utterly pointless,” he shouted, his voice filled with disdain. “You ants think you can stop the advance of the dark army? What a pipe dream!”
Before he finished speaking, he swung his spear, and the beast-taming army behind him surged forward like a tidal wave, frantically attacking our defenses.
The deafening roars of beasts, the clanging of clashing weapons, and the painful groans of soldiers intertwined to form a cruel symphony of war.
The Bismuth Beastmaster led the warriors in a valiant resistance, but the enemy's numbers were simply too great, and cracks began to appear in our defenses.
"Hold on! We must hold on!" I roared, wielding my weapon and repelling one dark beast after another.
Su Yao joined the battle, her longsword flashing like lightning, each swing claiming a life. She was like a blooming datura flower, beautiful yet deadly.
However, even with our utmost efforts, we could not withstand the frenzied attacks of the Dark Beasts. Our defenses were crumbling and could collapse at any moment.
The Beastmaster stood high above, coldly observing everything, a cruel smile playing on his lips. His eyes were filled with contempt, as if we were nothing more than ants to him, at his mercy.
The warriors of the Beast Taming Realm fell one by one into pools of blood. Fear and despair began to spread among the crowd.
I felt my strength draining away little by little, and the weapon in my hand growing heavier and heavier.
“Su Yao…” I turned to look at Su Yao. Her face was even paler, and her breathing became disordered.
"I...I'm fine..." She forced a smile, but I knew she was about to give up.
Suddenly, a loud bang was heard, and I saw the Bismuth Beastmaster being knocked away by a huge dark beast and crashing heavily to the ground, his life hanging in the balance.
"Bismuth Beastmaster!" My heart sank, and a feeling of despair welled up inside me.
The defenses have finally crumbled... Dark beasts surged in like a tidal wave, surrounding us...
"Su Yao, watch out!" I pulled her behind me, shielding her... A gigantic dark beast, its jaws wide open, lunged at me...
