Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 30 Mountain Battle, Beast Taming for Supremacy

My heart sank. It seemed Chen had indeed found help. The aura emanating from this burly middle-aged man was several times stronger than Chen's; he was probably at least a mid-level Beast Tamer. Su Yao gripped her long whip tightly, a cold glint flashing in her beautiful eyes.

"Master Liu, it's them! Take all the treasures from them!"

Chen pointed at us, his tone extremely arrogant. The Beast Tamer Liu sized us up, a hint of contempt in his eyes.

"Two greenhorns, you dare to oppose Young Master Chen? If you know what's good for you, hand over all the treasures you obtained before, and I might consider sparing your lives."

I sneered and retorted, "With just you guys?"

"Kid, don't be stubborn and refuse to listen to reason!"

Chen's expression changed, and he threatened fiercely, "Master Liu is an intermediate-level Beast Tamer. How dare you, a mere apprentice Beast Tamer, be so insolent in front of him?"

I clenched my fists, my heart surging with anger. The treasures we obtained in the ruins were things Su Yao and I risked our lives for; why should we hand them over?

Moreover, I know Chen's character all too well; even if we hand over the treasure, he will definitely not let us go.

"If you want the treasure, come and take it yourself!"

I met Liu the Beastmaster's gaze without fear.

Su Yao stood beside me and said firmly, "Nong Yu, don't be afraid of them, we'll fight together!"

Master Liu smiled contemptuously, "You ignorant brats, since you're courting death, don't blame me!"

After saying that, he clapped his hands, and several fierce-looking men immediately walked out from behind him, who were obviously his subordinates.

"Take them down!"

At Liu Yushou's command, his men swarmed forward and pounced on us.

"Lightning Sable, Wind Blade!"

I immediately summoned my beast companion, the Lightning Sable, which transformed into a silver lightning bolt and swiftly weaved through the crowd. Sharp wind blades continuously slashed across the bodies of those people, forcing them to retreat repeatedly.

Su Yao was equally unyielding, her long whip dancing like a serpent, repelling the approaching enemies one by one.

"Hmph, you've got some skill, but that's about it!"

Master Liu snorted coldly and finally made his move. He swung his longsword, and a sharp sword aura rushed straight towards me.

I quickly dodged, the sword energy grazing my cheek and leaving a shallow bloodstain.

"Be careful, this guy is very strong!"

I reminded Su Yao. Su Yao nodded, her expression solemn. Liu Yushou Master swung his sword again, and sword energies rained down upon us, leaving Su Yao and me struggling to keep up.

"It seems we have to fight quickly."

I thought to myself that a prolonged battle would be disadvantageous for us. I took a deep breath, focused my mind, and felt the telepathic connection between myself and the Lightning Sable.

"Lightning Finch, are you ready?"

The lightning ferret let out a sharp cry, its eyes gleaming with excitement.

A slight smile played on my lips as I whispered, "Let's begin..."

I took a deep breath, connecting with the Lightning Sable's mind, and a strange energy surged into my body before flowing to the Lightning Sable.

Its body shone brightly with silver light, and its size expanded in the blink of an eye. Its originally soft fur stood up like silver needles, and its eyes shot out a terrifying cold light!

"This is...evolution?!"

Chen exclaimed in disbelief. The evolved Lightning Sable was so fast that it was difficult to see with the naked eye, leaving only streaks of silver afterimages.

Its sharp claws lashed out, and the wind blades were like knives, instantly defeating Liu Yushou's men.

Those people didn't even have time to scream before they were sent flying and crashed heavily to the ground, losing their ability to fight.

Master Liu's expression changed drastically; he hadn't expected his beast companion to be so powerful. He hurriedly summoned his beast—a massive armored rhinoceros.

The armored rhinoceros, with its thick hide and tough flesh, possessed incredible defensive capabilities, and it withstood the wind blades of the lightning mink as it charged towards us.

"Lightning Sable, Thunderstorm!"

I gave the order.

The evolved Lightning Sable has mastered new skills. It leaps high into the air, its body crackling with dazzling lightning, and thick bolts of lightning descend from the sky, striking the Armored Rhinoceros hard.

The armored rhinoceros let out a painful roar, its massive body convulsing from the electric shock, but its thick hide withstood the attack and continued charging towards us.

"This guy's defense is too strong!"

I thought to myself, it seems the lightning storm had only limited effect on the Lightning Sable. Seeing that the Armored Rhinoceros was still fighting, Master Liu revealed a sinister smile.

"Boy, your beast companion is powerful, but it's no match for my armored rhinoceros!"

Just then, Su Yao made her move.

The long whip in her hand, like a serpent, coiled around the neck of the armored rhinoceros. With a forceful pull, she managed to yank the massive body of the armored rhinoceros off course.

I seized the opportunity and directed the Lightning Sable to attack the Armored Rhino's weak point—its eyes.

The Lightning Sable transformed into a streak of silver light, instantly appearing in front of the Armored Rhinoceros, its sharp claws viciously clawing towards its eyes.

The armored rhinoceros let out a shrill scream, its massive body crashing to the ground. Master Liu's face turned deathly pale; he hadn't expected his strongest beast to be defeated so quickly.

"Chen, let's go!"

Beastmaster Liu dared not linger any longer and turned to flee. Student Chen was also terrified, his face turning pale, and he followed Beastmaster Liu in his escape.

Watching their disheveled retreating figures, Su Yao and I exchanged a glance and both smiled with relief. Although the battle was arduous, we ultimately emerged victorious.

I know that my training in the Monster Mountain Range is coming to an end, and I will face new challenges upon returning to the academy.

The letter from my father, written by the family… was somber, seemingly foreshadowing some potential crisis. I returned to the family territory, and the scene before me made my heart sink.

The gates of the family mansion were wide open, a scene of utter chaos, with servants running in all directions, their cries and curses mingling together.

A man dressed in black with a cold and stern face stood in the center of the mansion, his long sword dripping with blood.

"The Lin family..."

I murmured to myself, a sense of foreboding rising within me.
