Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 263 The Thread is Obtained, Danger Returns

After a period of blankness, intense pain surged through me like a tidal wave, as if countless steel needles were piercing my veins. I groaned in agony, my body trembling uncontrollably.

The scroll in my hand felt like burning embers, searing my skin. A chilling aura spread up my arm, corroding my body.

"Nong Yu!" Su Yao exclaimed, trying to reach out to help me, but was pushed away by an invisible force.

I gritted my teeth, enduring the excruciating pain, and tried to throw the scroll away, only to find that my hands seemed to be glued to the ground, unable to move at all.

That chilling aura grew stronger and stronger, like a bone-deep infection, constantly eroding my consciousness.

I began to hallucinate; bizarre scenes flashed through my mind, and mournful wails echoed in my ears, as if I were in hell.

The messenger looked at me in terror, his voice trembling as he said, "This is... the Dark Lord's restriction... anyone who tries to pry into his secrets will be cursed..."

I struggled to stay conscious, mobilizing the last vestiges of my inner energy to try and resist the erosion of this dark power.

However, this force was far too powerful, and my resistance seemed futile. My consciousness gradually faded, and I slowly lost control of my body.

"Nong Yu! How are you?" Su Yao's anxious voice rang in my ears, but her words were as if they were coming through a thick wall, and I could only vaguely hear some intermittent sounds.

I felt my body getting heavier and heavier, as if I were being crushed by a mountain, and it became increasingly difficult to breathe.

I knew that if I didn't find a way to break this restriction, I would be completely devoured by this dark power. I desperately concentrated, trying to find a way out.

The Beast Taming Technique that my master had once taught me came to mind. I silently recited the incantation, trying to establish a connection with my tamed beast.

However, my tamed beasts also seem to be affected by this dark power and are unable to establish an effective connection with me.

Just when I was about to despair, I suddenly remembered that Su Yao had once said she was a Valkyrie with immense divine power. Perhaps, she could help me!

With my last ounce of strength, I lifted my head and looked at Su Yao. My vision was already blurred; I could only make out a vague figure.

I opened my mouth with difficulty, trying to call her name, but no sound came out.

I reached out my trembling hand and grabbed at Su Yao, as if a drowning person were grasping at the last straw.

Su Yao seemed to understand what I meant, and a resolute look flashed in her eyes... Everything before my eyes was blood red, and I felt as if I were sinking into a bottomless abyss, with a cold fear tightly gripping me.

Just as I was about to lose consciousness, a warm power surged into my body, like a ray of sunshine in winter, dispelling the darkness that enveloped me.

I could vaguely see Su Yao's figure. Her face was pale, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. Her hands were pressed tightly against my back, and a powerful divine force was continuously flowing into my body.

This divine power was pure and warm, forming a stark contrast to the cold, dark power.

With the help of Su Yao's divine power, I felt my consciousness gradually returning, and the cold aura within my body began to dissipate.

I gritted my teeth, mobilized all the true energy in my body, and merged it with Su Yao's divine power to fight against that dark force together.

The restrictions on the scroll began to flicker and crackle, as if they were about to shatter at any moment.

I felt a powerful pressure coming from the scroll, as if it were going to crush me.

"Hang in there, Nongyu!" Su Yao's voice rang in my ears, firm and powerful.

I took a deep breath, concentrated all my strength in my hands, and pulled hard.

With a "crack," the restrictions on the scroll finally shattered, and a powerful energy wave spread outwards.

The scroll in my hand was also unfurled, and it was covered with ancient characters.

I forced myself to endure the discomfort and quickly scanned the contents of the scroll, memorizing the key information.

Just then, the entire chamber began to shake violently, stones fell from above, and cracks appeared in the ground.

"Oh no! The secret chamber is about to collapse!" Di's envoy exclaimed.

I dared not delay and immediately summoned my tamed beast—a lithe snow leopard.

As soon as the snow leopard appeared, it immediately lay down at my feet. I pulled Su Yao onto the snow leopard's back, and then I climbed on top of it myself.

"Let's go!" I gave the order, and the snow leopard shot off like an arrow toward the exit of the secret chamber.

In the passageway of the secret chamber, fire traps and boulders rolled down, and the snow leopard, with its agility, nimbly moved through the narrow passageway, dodging various dangers.

Su Yao then brandished her long sword, smashing some of the nearby boulders.

"Watch out!" Su Yao suddenly shouted as a huge boulder fell from above, about to hit us.

With a thought, the snow leopard leaped forward, narrowly dodging the falling rocks. The rocks crashed heavily to the ground with a loud thud, creating a huge crater.

We continued running forward, but the room was collapsing faster and faster, and the passage behind us was completely blocked.

Just as we were about to reach the exit, a huge stone gate suddenly appeared in front of us, tightly closed, blocking our way.

I looked at Su Yao, who was holding me tightly and said, "No matter what happens, we will stay together."

I felt her deep affection, and my heart was filled with strength. Then... I hugged Su Yao tightly and whispered in her ear, "Don't worry, I will definitely get you out of here."

The faint fragrance emanating from her, mixed with the smell of gunpowder, made me feel exceptionally at ease.

The threat of death was imminent, yet I felt incredibly calm. As long as I could be with her, I was fearless, even in the face of death.

The snow leopard growled anxiously as it paced in front of the stone gate, sensing the danger emanating from it.

I jumped off the snow leopard's back, walked to the stone gate, and observed it carefully.

This stone gate was no ordinary stone; it was covered with intricate runes and emitted a faint black light. A chilling aura emanated from it, the same dark power that had been sensed on the scroll earlier.

“This…this seems to be some kind of restriction.” Su Yao also came over, her brows furrowed, her tone tinged with worry.

I reached out and touched the stone door, and a chill ran through my fingertips. The dark power seemed to be invading my body.

I quickly withdrew my hand, secretly shocked. This restriction was even more powerful than I had imagined.

"What should we do?" Su Yao looked at me, her eyes filled with anxiety.

The sound of the chamber collapsing grew louder, and stones kept falling from above. We didn't have much time left. I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down.

Now is not the time to panic; we must find a way to break the seal as soon as possible. I closed my eyes, recalling the contents of the scroll, hoping to find some clues.

The scroll contains a secret technique called "Breaking Evil Technique," which is specifically used to break various restrictions and formations.

I have practiced some basic techniques for breaking evil spirits, but the restriction in front of me is too complex, and I am not entirely confident that I can break it.

"It's worth a try," I thought to myself.

Instead of waiting for death, it is better to give it a try.

I placed my hand on the stone door again, mobilized all the true energy in my body, and slowly injected the true energy into the runes on the stone door according to the route of the Demon-Slaying Technique.

As true energy was injected, the runes on the stone door began to flash and emit a buzzing sound. A powerful rebound force came from the stone door, making my arm go numb.

I gritted my teeth and persisted in continuously channeling my inner energy. Su Yao stood beside me, watching me nervously. She knew I was giving it my all and didn't dare to disturb me.

Time passed second by second, and large beads of sweat appeared on my forehead, and my face turned pale.

The runes on the stone gate were flashing faster and faster, and the rebound force was getting stronger and stronger. I felt that my body was about to give way.

Just when I was about to give up, the runes on the stone door suddenly stopped flashing and made a crisp sound, and a crack appeared in the center of the stone door.

A surge of joy filled me, knowing that my efforts had not been in vain. I increased the output of my true energy, and the crack rapidly widened until finally, the entire stone door shattered with a deafening roar.

However, behind the broken stone door was not an exit to the outside world, but a barrier of even more intense dark power.

The barrier emitted a dark, eerie light, like the gaping maw of an abyss, blocking all paths. Su Yao gripped my hand tightly; her palms were icy cold, and I could feel her fear.

Looking at the dark barrier before me, a sense of powerlessness welled up inside me. The power of this barrier was far greater than the restrictions on the stone gate; I simply had no ability to break through it.

Just then, a chilling voice came from behind the barrier: "Do you think you can escape?"

I turned my head sharply in the direction the sound came from...
