Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 233 A Perilous Situation, A Tacit Solution
A powerful surge of energy emanated from the depths of the tower, making my eardrums buzz.
A flash of white light appeared before my eyes, and Su Yao and I were transported to an unfamiliar space.
This is a desolate Gobi Desert, where the wind whips up sand and gravel, making a sharp howling sound.
"Where is Lanthanum?" I looked around, but I couldn't see anything except the howling wind and the sandstorm.
"Watch out!" Su Yao suddenly pulled me behind her, and a dark shadow swooped down from the sky, carrying a sharp killing intent.
Only then did I realize that it was a huge vulture, its sharp beak gleaming coldly, and its talons as sharp as steel knives.
"This is a simulated scenario for a collaborative test." A voice came from behind me. I turned around and saw a tall man standing there, dressed in simple cloth clothes, with a faint smile on his face.
“I am Lan.” I nodded, but before I could speak, the vulture swooped down again.
Su Yao drew her longsword, and a sharp sword aura forced the vulture back.
“We need to cooperate,” Lan said. “This test simulates a real combat scenario, and only through perfect teamwork can we pass it.”
I understood what he meant, exchanged a glance with Su Yao, and prepared to fight the vultures with him.
However, at that moment, a strange force surged into my mind, my thinking became sluggish, and the telepathic connection between me and Su Yao became blurred.
"What's going on?" I was startled; I had never felt this way before.
"Watch out!" Lan's voice rang in my ears. I instinctively dodged, but I was still scratched on the arm by the vulture's claws.
"Your mental energy has been interfered with," Su Yao said with a hint of anxiety. "Our connection has been severed."
My heart sank. This disruptive force came too suddenly and was exceptionally powerful; I had no way to resist it.
The vulture swooped down again, and I barely managed to dodge it, but I felt powerless.
“This won’t do,” Lan said. “We need to find the source of the interference.”
I nodded, trying to concentrate and break free from the force's hold, but found it was all in vain.
The vultures' attacks grew increasingly fierce. Both Lan and I were injured. Although Su Yao was not directly attacked, a look of worry appeared on her face.
"Concentrate and sense the energy fluctuations around you," Su Yao's voice rang out again, tinged with determination. "We will definitely find a breakthrough."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my inner turmoil, and focused my attention on the energy fluctuations around me.
Gradually, I sensed a faint fluctuation, hidden among the gale and sand, appearing and disappearing intermittently.
“I feel…” I pointed in a direction, “over there!”
Lan and Su Yao looked in the direction I pointed, and a glint of light flashed in their eyes.
"Let's go!" Lan made a decisive decision and led us rushing in that direction.
The wind howled, sand and gravel flew, and our figures appeared exceptionally small on the desolate Gobi Desert.
The disruptive force still exists, but we have found our direction, and a glimmer of hope has been rekindled in our hearts.
Suddenly, Lan stopped in his tracks, his expression turning serious.
"Be careful..." he whispered, his eyes fixed on the front.
I followed his gaze and saw a black vortex appear before me, slowly rotating and emanating a chilling power...
"What is that..." The black vortex was like a giant eye, coldly staring at us, radiating a suffocating sense of oppression.
“That’s the source of interference.” Lan’s voice was low and solemn. “Be careful, it will devour our mental energy.”
I felt the interfering force grow even stronger, as if it were about to tear my consciousness apart.
I gritted my teeth, trying to resist the erosion of this force, while holding Su Yao's hand tightly, drawing strength from her warm palm.
“We must destroy it.” Su Yao’s voice was firm and powerful, and her eyes shone with unwavering determination.
“But…” Lan hesitated for a moment, “How can we destroy it? It looks so powerful.”
I took a deep breath, and a thought suddenly flashed through my mind.
“Perhaps we can use our tacit understanding,” I said. “Although our telepathic connection has been disrupted, we can still sense each other’s presence. We can communicate in other ways, such as eye contact, gestures, or even breathing.”
Lan's eyes lit up; he immediately understood what I meant.
“Great idea!” he said. “Let’s give it a try.” The three of us formed a triangle and looked each other in the eye.
I felt a new force flowing between us, a tacit understanding that transcended language and telepathy, binding us closely together.
We began to move, our steps synchronized, our breathing in sync. We didn't speak, but we knew what the other was thinking.
We are like a whole, an indivisible whole.
The black vortex seemed to sense our change; it began to spin violently, radiating even greater power.
But we did not back down; we moved forward resolutely, getting closer to it step by step.
We worked together seamlessly: Lan was in charge of defense, Su Yao was in charge of offense, and I was in charge of controlling the pace.
We are like a sophisticated machine, with every part functioning perfectly.
The vulture reappeared, but this time we didn't panic. We worked together seamlessly and drove it away.
The disruptive forces still exist, but we have found ways to deal with them.
We kept getting closer to the black vortex, which spun faster and faster, and its power grew stronger and stronger.
But we did not give up. We knew that as long as we persisted, we would definitely be able to destroy it.
Finally, we arrived before the black vortex. It exuded a suffocating sense of oppression, as if it wanted to devour us.
"Are you ready?" I asked in a low voice. Lan and Su Yao nodded, their eyes shining with determination.
We take a deep breath and release our most powerful strength at the same time.
The three forces intertwined, forming a powerful energy impact that slammed into the black vortex.
The black vortex trembled violently, then slowly dissipated.
The interfering force disappeared, and the telepathic connection between Su Yao and me returned to normal.
We did it! Su Yao looked at me with satisfaction. She walked to my side and took my arm. "Yu, you and your partner were really great."
I smiled, my heart filled with joy and pride. Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared before my eyes, and we were back inside the tower.
Lan bid us farewell, preparing to face the next challenge. Watching his retreating figure, a sudden surge of admiration welled up within me.
"The next test..." I murmured to myself, my gaze fixed ahead. There, a stone door slowly opened, and a mysterious aura emanated from it... I stepped forward...
