Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 200 Goodwill Praised, Entering the Clan Territory
The shadowy figure moved incredibly fast, arriving in front of us in the blink of an eye.
Upon closer inspection, I saw a giant wolf covered in black scales, its scarlet eyes fixed on us, emitting a low growl, and a ferocious aura emanating from it.
"Shadow Wolf!" Su Yao exclaimed in surprise, "This is a ferocious beast equivalent to an intermediate-level Beast Tamer!"
In the blink of an eye, the Shadow Wolf pounced on us.
I reacted quickly and immediately commanded the Crimson Flame Bird to spew out a blazing flame to block the Demon Wolf's attack.
At the same time, the armored rhinoceros charged forward, using its hard horn to butt the demon wolf.
The wolf was forced back by the flames and let out an angry roar.
It nimbly dodged the armored rhinoceros's attack and then pounced on us again.
My heart sank; the speed and strength of this demonic wolf far exceeded my expectations.
Just at this critical moment, a tall figure suddenly appeared in front of us, blocking the wolf's attack.
This was a burly man dressed in simple animal skin clothing, holding a huge stone axe in his hand.
His face was resolute, his eyes were sharp, and he exuded a powerful aura.
“Iron Guard!” Su Yao exclaimed softly, seemingly recognizing the man.
The Iron Guardian stood in front of the demon wolf and swung his stone axe down hard.
The wolf was unable to dodge in time and was struck by the stone axe, letting out a shrill scream.
It dared not linger in the fight and turned to flee back into the jungle.
The Iron Guard put away his stone axe, turned to look at us, and his eyes held a hint of wariness.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" His voice was deep and powerful.
I took a deep breath and tried to keep myself calm.
“We are beast tamers traveling here, with no ill intentions. We have heard of a lost tribe here and hope to receive your help.” The Iron Guard’s eyes were filled with suspicion.
"Help? What kind of help can you give us?" I looked at the Iron Guard's determined eyes, thinking about how to prove that I had no ill intentions.
I suddenly remembered that the Chromium Beastmaster had mentioned that this tribe valued the emotional bond between beastmasters.
A thought flashed through my mind.
“Perhaps we can express our goodwill in another way,” I said, turning my gaze to Xiaoying.
Xiaoying seemed to understand what I meant and wagged her tail excitedly.
I gestured for Xiaoying to walk up to the Iron Guard.
Beside the Iron Guardian, there was also a giant wolf, pure white, even larger than the Shadow Wolf from before, which was watching us warily.
“I think if we let our friends talk, we might be able to better express our sincerity.” As I spoke, I guided Xiaoying closer to the white wolf.
Xiaoying cautiously approached the white wolf, emitting a friendly low growl.
At first, the white wolf stared at Xiaoying warily, but it was soon touched by Xiaoying's sincerity and responded with a low growl.
What happened next surprised both Su Yao and me.
Xiaoying actually nuzzled the white wolf with her head, and the white wolf lowered its head and gently licked Xiaoying's head.
The two beasts quickly started playing together, chasing each other and being affectionate, as if they were old friends who had known each other for a long time.
As the Iron Guard watched this scene, the expression on his face gradually softened, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
He looked at me and said slowly, "It seems... you are indeed different from others."
He paused for a moment, then pointed in the direction of the stone tower. "Follow me."
The Iron Guard turned and walked towards the stone tower, and Su Yao and I quickly followed.
Xiaoying and the white wolf also stopped playing and followed closely behind us.
Su Yao leaned gently on my shoulder and whispered, "You always manage to come up with a solution."
I turned to look at her; the moonlight shone on her face, making her appear even more gentle and beautiful.
A warm feeling welled up in my heart, and my eyes were filled with love.
I took her hand and gave her a reassuring smile.
Although the Iron Guard's attitude softened somewhat, things didn't go as smoothly as I had imagined.
Upon reaching the entrance to the stone tower, the Iron Guard stopped and said with some difficulty, "Although your beasts have shown goodwill, tribal rules stipulate that outsiders are not allowed to enter at will."
My heart sank; it seemed there was still a chance for things to turn around.
Just as I was pondering how to respond, a clear voice came from inside the stone tower: "Uncle Tie, what are they doing?"
Looking in the direction of the sound, they saw a petite girl walking out of the stone tower.
She had long, glossy black hair and a pair of large eyes that curiously looked us over.
She was dressed in a simple animal skin garment, but it couldn't hide her youthful and lively spirit.
“Manganese, they are outsiders who want to enter the tribe,” the Iron Guard explained.
A girl named Manganese walked up to us, her gaze falling on me, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Where did you come from? Why did you enter our tribe?"
I explained our purpose again and emphasized that we had no ill intentions and simply hoped to get their help.
After hearing my explanation, Meng did not immediately express his opinion. Instead, he circled around Su Yao and me, carefully examining us.
She would sometimes stop and gently touch my clothes with her hand, and sometimes lean close to my face, as if trying to read something from my expression.
Her actions made me a little embarrassed, but I could understand her curiosity.
After all, outsiders are extremely rare for a tribe that is isolated from the world.
Manganese's actions surprised the Iron Guard, who coughed lightly and reminded him, "Manganese, don't be rude."
Meng then stopped what she was doing. She took a step back, tilted her head, looked at me, and asked, "What's your name?"
“My name is Nong Yu,” I replied.
“Nong Yu…” Meng repeated my name softly, then suddenly said, “Uncle Tie, let them in.”
The Iron Guard looked at Manganese with some surprise and asked, "Manganese, do you know what you're saying? They're outsiders!"
Meng said firmly, "I believe they mean no harm. Besides, their beasts and Xiaoxue are having so much fun together, they must be good people."
The Iron Guard hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded and said, "Alright, since you say so, let them in. However, they must abide by the tribe's rules."
Mang jumped up happily, then walked up to me and said, "Come with me, I'll take you inside."
She turned and walked into the stone tower. I winked at Su Yao and followed her.
Iron Guard and Xiaoxue followed behind us, his eyes still showing a hint of vigilance.
The interior of the stone tower was dark and damp, with a strange smell permeating the air.
Manganese led us through a narrow passage to a spacious cave.
A campfire burned in the center of the cave, and many tribal members were gathered around it.
They were all dressed in simple animal skin clothing, and they looked at us with curious eyes.
I sensed curiosity, wariness, and even a hint of... hostility in their gazes.
Manganese stopped and turned to look at me, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Welcome to the Lost Tribe..."
