Beast Taming Star Journey
Chapter 165 The plot is foiled and reinforcements arrive; the dean gives his full support.
The night was deep, and on the path behind the mountain, a dark figure slowly approached me. I clenched my fist, secretly activating the power of the equal pact I had signed with the Howling Moon Wolf, preparing for battle at any moment.
As the shadowy figure drew closer, I recognized the person—it was Teacher Qian. He looked nervous and handed me a package: "Nong Yu, this is what I collected at great risk. You must be careful."
I opened the package, which contained letters and ledgers recording Professor Xi's secret dealings with some students and teachers.
They used money and favors to spread rumors about reforms and incite unrest within the college. A chill ran down my spine; this evidence was enough to prove Professor Xi's conspiracy.
“Thank you, Lead Teacher.” I carefully put away the package. “I know what you did was dangerous.”
The lead teacher shook his head: "I support your reforms, and I believe you are working hard for the future of the college." He paused, then added, "Several students also support you, and they are secretly gathering evidence."
A warm feeling welled up inside me; I was not fighting alone in this struggle. The next day, I gathered all the faculty and students of the college and publicly exposed Professor Xi's conspiracy.
I showed everyone the letters and ledgers; the evidence was irrefutable, and Professor Xi's face turned ashen.
"This...this is a forgery!" he cried out, but his voice sounded so weak.
"Professor Tin, what else do you have to say?" A young voice rang out; it was Nickel's student.
He stood up and bravely testified against Professor Xi: "I saw with my own eyes that you gave those students money to spread rumors."
More and more students stood up to expose Professor Xi's crimes. Those who had been deceived by him finally saw his true colors.
Professor Xi's conspiracy was exposed, and he was like a stray dog, utterly pathetic. I looked at Dean Tie; his face was grim, and he remained silent.
“Dean,” I said in a deep voice, “I believe you will make the right judgment.”
Dean Tie paused for a moment, then slowly said, "I announce that the academy will fully support Nong Yu's reform plan."
His words resonated deeply, and the entire room erupted in enthusiastic applause. I breathed a sigh of relief; this struggle had finally achieved a partial victory.
However, the matter did not end there. Professor Xi did not give up after being exposed. His face turned ashen, and his eyes flashed with resentment.
He walked up to Dean Tie and said in a cold tone, "Dean, are you really going to support this greenhorn? You should think this through..."
Before Professor Xi could finish speaking, Dean Tie interrupted him, "Professor Xi, I've heard about what you've done at the academy over the years. This incident has shown me your true colors completely. You can leave; the academy no longer needs you."
Professor Xi's face grew even uglier. He gritted his teeth, glared at me fiercely, and then turned and left.
I thought that was the end of it, but little did I know that this was just the calm before the storm.
The next morning, as soon as I arrived at the college, I saw a group of teachers gathered in the square, the atmosphere unusually tense. My heart sank, and I had a premonition that something was about to happen.
I walked over and found several college administrators in the crowd, all with grim faces and silent. "What happened?" I asked the administrator.
The mercury administrator sighed and said, "Professor Xi has joined forces with some conservative forces in the college. They have jointly written to the dean, and if the dean insists on supporting your reforms, they will resign en masse."
My heart sank; this was a huge crisis. If these teachers and administrators really did resign en masse, the normal operation of the college would be severely affected.
At that moment, Su Yao came over, held my hand tightly, and her eyes were full of trust and encouragement.
“Don’t worry,” she said softly. “I believe you can solve this.” Her trust gave me strength, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
I walked to the center of the crowd and said loudly, "Teachers and administrators, I know you have concerns about the reform, but I believe that the reform is for a better future for the college. We cannot be complacent because we are afraid of change."
My words caused a stir in the crowd; some supported me, while others opposed me.
I continued, “I know Professor Xi’s departure has had a great impact on everyone, but we cannot be swayed by him. There will inevitably be obstacles on the road to reform, but we cannot give up because of that.”
My words resonated deeply, and the crowd gradually quieted down. I saw thoughtful expressions on the faces of some teachers, and I knew my words had touched them.
Just then, Dean Tie walked over. He stood beside me and said in a firm tone, "I support Nong Yu's reform plan. No one can stop the college from moving forward."
Dean Tie's arrival reversed the situation. Some teachers who were initially hesitant also expressed their support for the reforms. In the end, only a few die-hard conservatives chose to leave.
Although the crisis has been temporarily averted, I am still filled with worry.
The collective resignation of conservative forces, while not a fatal blow to the academy, will still have some impact on its normal operation.
Furthermore, with the reforms of the Beast Taming Academy about to be fully implemented, will this attract interference from other external forces? And what impact will this have on the impending turmoil in the Beast Taming world?
Just as I was pondering these questions, a disciple from the academy rushed over and handed me a letter. "Senior Brother Nongyu, it's a message from Elder Tan."
I took the letter, opened it, and saw that it contained only one short sentence: "Come quickly to the center of the Beast Taming Realm to discuss how to deal with the turmoil."
My heart skipped a beat... Elder Carbon... the center of the Beast Taming Realm...
