Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 161 Alliance Meets Cold Shoulders, Reforms Face Difficulties

Stepping out of the conference room, Su Yao's warm hand offered me a sense of comfort. Professor Xi's stubbornness and Dean Tie's hesitation weighed heavily on my heart like boulders; the path of reform was more difficult than I had imagined.

But I won't give up; a glimmer of hope still burns in my heart. I thought of Teacher Qian, one of the few young teachers at the meeting who agreed with my proposal. Perhaps he could be the breakthrough point for my reform plan.

The teaching building was quiet; most of the students were practicing beast taming in the training ground. Following my memory, I found Teacher Qian's office.

I gently knocked on the door, and a slightly hoarse voice came from inside: "Come in."

Teacher Qian was grading students' homework when he saw me. He was clearly taken aback for a moment, then stood up and forced a slightly stiff smile: "Nong Yu, what brings you here?"

I got straight to the point, explaining my purpose: I hoped to discuss the reform plan with him in detail and seek his support.

After listening to me, Teacher Lead remained silent for a moment, his eyes darting around as if he were thinking about something.

“Nong Yu, your reform plan is indeed very innovative, and I agree with your ideas.” He spoke slowly, but his tone was hesitant. “However… as you can see, many people in the college oppose your plan, especially Professor Xi, whose influence is considerable…”

I understand his concerns. Reform will inevitably affect the interests of some people, and Professor Xi is a representative of the conservative forces.

I tried to dispel his doubts: "Teacher Lead, I know there will be resistance to reform, but if things don't change, the academy will only continue to decline. We need fresh blood and new ways of thinking to cultivate more outstanding beast-taming talents!"

My tone was full of passion, and the lead teacher's eyes gradually became firm.

He took a deep breath and said, "Nong Yu, I support you! I will do my best to help you implement the reform plan, but you must also be prepared that this road will not be smooth sailing."

The support from the lead teachers has given me hope, but I also know that this is just the beginning. I need more support to overcome the obstacles posed by conservative forces.

"Thank you, Teacher Lead," I said gratefully. "I believe that as long as we work together, we will definitely succeed!"

Leaving the lead teacher's office, I felt much lighter on my feet. However, as I turned the corner of the corridor, I overheard two young teachers whispering to each other.

"...I heard Nong Yu went to find Teacher Qian..."

"Hmph, he's really delusional. He wants to reform the academy? Doesn't he even know his place?" I suddenly stopped in my tracks.

The whispers coming from around the corner of the corridor extinguished my newly ignited hope like a bucket of cold water. I clenched my fists, trying hard to control my emotions.

Su Yao noticed my unusual behavior, gently took my arm, pressed her soft body against me, and whispered, "No matter what, I will walk with you."

Her warmth flowed into my heart like a warm current. I looked at her gratefully, took a deep breath, and continued walking forward.

Over the next few days, I continued to visit other young teachers in the college, hoping to gain more support.

However, Professor Xi seemed to have noticed my actions and began to spread unfavorable rumors about me in the academy, saying that I was young and impetuous, did not understand the actual situation of the academy, and that the reform plan was simply not feasible. He even implied that my beast-taming ability was of unknown origin.

These comments spread like a virus throughout the college, causing some teachers who were initially hesitant to change their minds, and some even publicly expressed their opposition to my reform plan.

The mercury administrator, who had initially been neutral on the reforms, is now keeping his distance from me. I'm once again feeling the resistance to reform, a resistance I hadn't anticipated.

“Nong Yu, don’t be discouraged,” Su Yao encouraged, holding my hand. “We still have supporters, like Teacher Qian.”

I know Su Yao was trying to comfort me, but Professor Xi's influence is too great, and his remarks have made many people doubt me.

I must find a way to break this deadlock and reverse this unfavorable situation.

I began to think about Professor Xi's weaknesses.

He is stubborn and conservative, and fears that reform will shake his position. So what if my reform plan can prove that it will not only not harm their interests, but will also enhance the strength of the entire college, and even bring them greater benefits?

A plan gradually took shape in my mind. I found Teacher Lead and discussed my new plan with him.

After listening, his eyes lit up, and he said excitedly, "This plan is great! If it succeeds, it will definitely change the minds of those who are hesitant!"

Over the next few days, I secretly worked with the lead teacher to make preparations.

We contacted Nickel students and several other students who supported the reforms to train my Beastmaster partner in preparation for a public demonstration at the new teaching venue.

On the day of the exhibition, faculty and students gathered around the new teaching venue.

Professor Xi and his supporters arrived, their faces filled with disdain and mockery, seemingly convinced I would embarrass myself. I took a deep breath and walked to the center of the area.

Su Yao stood beside me and gave me an encouraging look. I patted my beast companion and whispered a few words to it.

It let out a long roar, and a powerful energy wave emanated from its body, causing the surrounding air to vibrate.

Everyone stared at my beast companion in surprise, wondering what would happen next.

I raised my head, looked firmly at Professor Xi, and slowly said, "Professor Xi, please watch carefully..."
