Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2
Chapter 90 Blackout
.
I'm truly racing against time now, as the shadow slowly shines towards the little red flower.
I'm extremely anxious right now, wanting to do something, but I can't do anything. I've already reached my limit just by getting up.
I couldn't feel anything in my wings, and as I watched the shadow slowly envelop the little red flower, I felt utterly hopeless.
So, is that the end? Is fate something that can't be changed no matter how hard you try?
Is this all I've come to? Is this really the end? I thought that as long as I tried hard and was willing to do it, I could do well and change things. But am I really incapable of doing anything well and changing anything?
Am I really that much of a failure?
Just as the shadow was about to envelop the little red flower, a hand slowly picked it up and handed it to me.
I looked at the guy who handed me the little red flower with great confusion. This guy was none other than Dafu, who had been nervously watching me from the air. I didn't know when he had appeared here.
"What's wrong? Don't you recognize me?" Dafu asked shyly.
"You, how did you end up here?" I asked, puzzled.
“They were all watching you, and the fish were watching you too, so I came down.” Dafu said as he came to my side and placed the little red flower next to me.
Then it slowly lay down beside me, watching the shadow slowly chase the sunlight. Finally, after the whole sky darkened, the surroundings seemed to have figured it out and then the enthusiastic sound of wings came.
We finally won! No matter what, we've won. Although luck played a part, we still got the little red flower in the end.
If I hadn't seen that flying fish bite off so much in one go, I wouldn't have thought of covering myself with plastic wrap.
This allows us to flip the item at the last moment when we peel off the plastic wrap while it's waterproofing it, which is also our most dangerous plan.
Unexpectedly, it succeeded. With our victory, things finally quieted down, and as we fell asleep, the sky gradually darkened, and little by little, light began to drift in from all around.
"Now, to celebrate the first place winner of the competition, let's start having some fun!" The host's voice came through.
The previous contestants all flew over here, and as they arrived, the fireflies in the sky began to dance gracefully.
With a touch of grace and a hint of intoxication, she began to dance, and slowly a swarm of butterflies pushed the four instructors' small wooden planks towards her.
And so the party began.
Faced with such a lively scene, I quickly looked around, afraid that some naughty kid might throw a five-yuan torpedo at us, which would really spoil the fun.
Thankfully, the surroundings were eerily quiet. Nobody would be out at night in the middle of winter, and even if they were online, it wouldn't be the time to stay up all night.
It was like a grand ball; all the insects came over to congratulate me and the two of us for winning first place.
This is a ball for the first-place winner, everything is to celebrate the two of us, no need to say anything, just have fun.
Just as I was thinking, "Should I just keep jumping around like this?", something good was served up.
Honey from bees, tea from butterflies' flowers, wine from dragonflies' dew, and wine from flies'...
I can understand the first three, since everyone has their own area of expertise, but the fly is my favorite.
Because flies are the most unpredictable creatures; basically, wherever there is food, there are flies. That's why we now have pizza, fried chicken, and liqueur.
There was also a beautiful firefly show, which was absolutely perfect. After the fireflies finished their performance, they flew into the air and then illuminated our place like faint stars.
Then a group of beautiful butterflies flew up and danced in the air. I was completely mesmerized. I even wanted to ride on one of the butterflies and play some kind of guessing game.
This is simply paradise on earth! I never knew there was such a vibrant and colorful life in the animal kingdom.
As the saying goes, "It's not the wine that intoxicates, but the person who makes it," and the beautiful scene before me completely captivated me, so I ended up drinking a few more cups. The honey was truly sweet, no wonder it was wild.
That dew-infused drink is really delicious and doesn't give you a headache. And that wildflower salad is the ultimate hangover cure—it's so refreshing!
And the junk food that flies find are delicious and tasty, especially the pizza they somehow got their hands on, it's just...
I was living a life of debauchery, eating delicious food, drinking fine wine, and watching performances that was even more decadent than that of ancient emperors.
Now I finally understand why those rich kids love this kind of life. I love it too!
I completely forgot that I still had to travel, and I didn't even know how long I had been drinking, when I got drunk, or when the party ended.
When I opened my eyes the next day, my eyelids felt unusually heavy, and I could only feel a blinding ray of sunlight that made it impossible for me to open my eyes.
I looked around with great difficulty, only to find a scene that resembled a garbage dump. I was still on that wrecked ship, surrounded by insects drunkenly lying on the deck.
What happened last night? I patted my head, trying very hard to figure out what had happened.
But I can't remember what happened last night, it's like I've lost my memory.
He really drank himself into oblivion.
I always thought that was just a scene where the female lead blacked out from drinking and did something she shouldn't have. I always felt that blacking out was impossible and that it was all so fake. Now I know, blacking out really does happen.
I struggled to stand up, and then I realized that my whole body was limp and I had no strength at all. This is what a hangover feels like.
I always thought only people from other countries would have such crazy fun. I never thought I'd have a hangover myself.
It's true that nothing in this world is absolute. I rubbed my forehead with great difficulty, trying to stop the headache from getting worse, when a cup made of leaves was handed to me.
"Drink up, this is a hundred-flower tea, it's incredibly effective at sobering you up," Dafu said gently.
"Oh, thank you," I said, a little embarrassed.
"It's alright." Dafu said and flew to the side.
I really felt my throat was thirsty, so I quickly drank a few sips. It really did have a hangover-relieving effect, like a combination of Red Bull and apple cider vinegar.
