Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2
Chapter 53 If You Love Her, Then Hang Up the Phone
Faced with Dafu's refusal to leave, I had no choice but to say some harsh words, but to my surprise, Dafu actually started to cry in grievance.
Looking at the aggrieved and crying Dafu, I suddenly felt that Dafu and that human little girl were so alike, so pitiful and so aggrieved.
Seeing Dafu crying sadly, I unconsciously said, "Okay, okay, don't cry. I'll take you to catch butterflies."
"What? What do you mean, catching butterflies?" Dafu asked in surprise.
"Ah...it's nothing, it's nothing. Since you don't want to leave, then you can stay with me. You can leave whenever you want." That was all I could say.
This was a way of covering up my unintentional embarrassment; how could I have blurted out what that little boy had said? It was really…
"Where do we go now?" Dafu flew to my side and asked.
"Go find a cell phone, any cell phone that can access the internet will do," I said, flitting about in front of me.
Now we'll try to fly as low as possible. It's definitely better to keep a low profile. I can't afford to risk another life-or-death situation if another bird comes along.
"What's a cell phone? What's the internet?" Dafu asked curiously from behind me.
“You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. Just follow me. From now on, follow my orders and don’t act on your own,” I said to Dafu in a very serious tone.
"Oh, I see," Dafu said reluctantly, like a wronged young wife.
So we flew towards the village. My main purpose was to find a cell phone and, ideally, to see the password while they were using it.
That way, I can secretly use their phones to go online at night, and my plan will be more than half successful.
So I flew towards the village with Dafu. As soon as I entered the village, I saw several old men and women chatting at the entrance. Although it wasn't snowing, they had lit a bunch of torches to warm themselves.
I looked around and didn't see anyone with a phone. It seems I need to look for young people; older people definitely don't have phones.
Originally, I wanted to visit Old Wang's house or the honest man's house, but I noticed that the scene was not suitable for children, so I decided to skip it and go by myself.
If I bring Dafu along, what if Dafu gets the wrong idea? What am I supposed to do?
So I decided that I would never go to that honest man's house or Old Wang's house, and that I should just take a walk around the village and see what was going on first.
I took Dafu for a walk around the village, and to my dismay, we couldn't find almost anyone who met our criteria.
There are indeed many mobile phones, mostly used by young people, but once they have a phone, they basically don't lock the screen; they just keep using it.
The person chatting was always on their phone, never locking the screen to say they wanted to do something else. I waited for over an hour and they didn't say anything like "put down your phone and go to the bathroom."
I couldn't wait any longer, so I found another person playing on the computer. If you're playing on the computer and need to use your phone, you should be able to unlock it, right?
But that damn guy wouldn't even answer the phone, just kept playing his game as if he was having a blast. But to make matters worse, he was a complete newbie. He went mid with Nasus, went bot with Tryndamere, and didn't buy blue buff with Caitlyn.
How bad is this guy? It makes me want to curse. Why are you playing on the computer instead of on your phone? Aren't you just ruining the game? What finally made me lose my temper was that this damn guy not only doesn't know how to play, but he also keeps feeding kills to the enemy.
You think it's a case of the brave winning when paths cross? Just charge straight ahead? Charge my ass!
I couldn't stand it anymore. If I were his teammate, I would have smashed his computer. What kind of terrible teammates are these?
It seemed hopeless to me there, so I started looking again, hoping to find something that suited my needs. When I came out, it was completely dark, and flying in the dark is quite dangerous.
Fortunately, the houses in the countryside are mostly connected, so we didn't have to fly too far. We arrived at another house and saw a man making a phone call.
Seeing this, I felt as if I had seen hope, and I immediately flew towards the man, landing directly on his shoulder.
The man was still diligently typing on his computer, chatting flirtatiously with his girlfriend while pacing back and forth by the door.
Judging from this, this boy is definitely not a quiet person. He likes to walk around while making phone calls and can't sit still and talk quietly.
Sigh, I really don't know what to say about young couples. Their topics are completely unrestrained. One minute they're talking about funny things from my childhood, and the next they're talking about how nice the moon is tonight and how many fireflies there are.
It immediately turned into "I'll bring you back to see the fireflies," but before the fireflies were even finished, it immediately turned into "touching your belly button with your hand behind your back."
Seriously, can't you use some logic? What does touching your belly button with your hand behind your back have to do with fireflies? This is making me so sleepy, or maybe phone bills are free?
Is this how you waste all the money your parents work so hard to earn? Can't you even have a proper conversation before hanging up? I still want to use it!
I was getting impatient on that man's shoulder, wondering if he was ever going to stop? Were you planning to talk all night?
This is a telephone, not a walkie-talkie. It costs money. Do you know what phone charges are?
I was almost in tears. The man had been talking for an hour and showed no signs of stopping. Just when I was about to give up, the man on the phone said, "My phone is about to run out of battery."
Holy crap, I finally see hope! God, thank you so much! But before I could even be happy for a few seconds, that damn man said, "It's okay, I'm just charging my phone."
"No need to hang it, no need to hang it, it won't be dangerous, I'll just charge it for five minutes."
"I'm so happy that you care about me. I know it's dangerous to make a phone call while charging, but I only need to charge for five minutes."
"Haha, five minutes of charging gives you two hours of talk time, we have plenty of time to chat."
When I heard that man's voice, I just wanted to rush up and strangle him. What the hell are you talking about? Don't you know girls shouldn't stay up late? Staying up late too much will ruin your skin, cause hormonal imbalances, and disrupt your menstrual cycle.
If you love her, just hang up.
He didn't care about the girl's life or death, her happiness or her future, and made her chat with him for so long for his own selfish reasons.
Don't you know that cell phones emit radiation? Don't you know that radiation is bad for a girl's skin?
I almost cried. I've waited so long and this one is still unreliable. It seems I have to keep looking.
