Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2

Chapter 45: Likes sour food, feels nauseous.

During a conversation with my bettor, I learned that my time to evolve was coming soon, and it was coming now.

So I went to the two queens immediately, hoping they could help me by giving me enough food and a relatively humid place so I could safely get through this period.

Dafu and I arrived at the room where the two queens were resting. I wanted to go in, but I was stopped by the ants at the door.

They won't let us in. They say the Queen is resting and we can't disturb her, but I'm so anxious. If I can't resolve this now, I might die from the pain tonight.

Even if I don't die from the pain, what if I turn into a swarm of insects in the room tonight?

If those ants recognize us, that's fine, but what if they don't? What if they treat us like monsters or food? I bet we'd be crying our eyes out if we died.

So I said, feeling very frustrated, "I really have an emergency and need to see those two queens. Please, I'm begging you, I'm very anxious."

"No, the Queen is asleep now. If you have any urgent business, you can ask the General." The ant guarding the gate did not budge an inch.

What's wrong with these ants? What's going on? They seem so proud of themselves. What are they trying to do? Are they trying to kill me? Why can't they read the room? I helped them so much, can't they see I'm in a hurry?

“But this matter can only be addressed by the Queen,” I replied anxiously.

"You can go to the general for anything. Even if the red ants and termites attack again, you can only go to the general," the gatekeeper ant said ruthlessly.

I……

All I wanted to do was rush up and crush that damned guard to death. How could he be so heartless?

Faced with the guard's cold rejection, it seems the only option is to go find the soldier and the team leader; after all, we can only see what they have to say.

Feeling quite frustrated, I walked towards them, hoping they would be reasonable and not play the blame game, constantly passing me around from one place to another.

My stomach started hurting again halfway through the journey. This time it hurt even more than before, but it came on and went away much faster.

Finally, despite the excruciating pain, I found the soldier. After explaining my purpose, the soldier said with great difficulty, "I can prepare food for you, but as for the room, this is not my territory. How about this, I'll accompany you to find their general."

So we crawled toward the ant that was leading the way, and when we finally found it, I felt completely exhausted.

My stomach has been hurting so many times in the middle. I don't know if Dafu is because it's a maggot or because it's fat and healthy, but it doesn't seem to feel any pain at all. Meanwhile, I'm having such a hard time even crawling a few steps.

When we finally found the general leading the group, we were told that the Queen's approval was required, since he was just a general and couldn't make decisions on his own.

Are these two messing with me? Are they trying to screw me over? Why is it so hard to get a room? Am I supposed to eat your room?

I was almost in tears, no, I was already crying. The pain in my stomach was making my tears flow uncontrollably; it hurt so much.

"I don't care about your stuff anymore. I just need a room with lots of food I can eat. Get it ready now, or I'll tell the two queens tomorrow that I want two soldier ants guarding the door. I didn't say anything when the queen asked what I wanted today!" I said angrily.

Damn it, isn't this the same as needing countless certificates to get anything done? Why is half a thing so complicated?

I don't even have the energy to complain anymore. All I want to do is find a place to spend the night. Why is it so hard to safely turn into a fly?

"Okay...okay, let's go prepare now, let's go now." After saying that, the two generals rushed out and disappeared from my sight in the blink of an eye.

My stomach was still aching, and I was even feeling hungry, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

Being hungry and having stomach pain – I doubt many people have experienced this feeling. Let me tell you, it's an incredibly painful sensation. Because your stomach is empty, it feels like your intestines are all tangled up.

I don't know how long I waited, maybe a few minutes, maybe a few seconds. When people are anxious, they find that they have no concept of time.

Just when I was so annoyed that I wanted to yell at them for not finishing up yet, those two finally came back.

"Are you guys trying to kill yourselves? Why is it taking so long?" My stomach was hurting terribly.

"Didn't you say it had to be a dark and damp place? And as you requested, it was filled with food you could eat. But you're not an ant, so you can't eat everything, which is why it's a bit slow," the lead ant explained to me.

"Forget it, let's go quickly, I can't take it anymore," I said, feeling very uncomfortable.

I can't even crawl anymore, I'm in so much pain I have no strength left, how am I supposed to crawl now?

"Could you find some ants to carry me over?" I cried out with great difficulty.

“No problem.” After saying that, the leader ant called a few ants to lift me up.

In an instant, I was carried by several ants towards that room. I have to say, the ants' crawling speed is extraordinary. It was like I was sitting in a car. In no time, I arrived at a dark corner of the room.

The doorway to that room was covered in moss. I had no idea where I was; maybe I was under a tree, because I could feel the dampness on the ground.

"Is this what you prepared?" I asked, quite puzzled.

"Yes, as you requested, it's dark and damp, and there's plenty of food for you to eat inside. Everything is prepared," said the ant leader.

“Yes, there’s at least enough food inside to feed you for ten days, enough for you to transform,” the soldier said from the side.

"You know I'm about to undergo a transformation?" I asked, quite curiously.

"We're not blind, how could we not see it?" the soldier said with a mischievous grin.

"Exactly, everything was prepared for you here a long time ago. The Queen was just waiting for you to make your request. We were all terrified when you didn't say anything. We were worried that you might be a mutant maggot, weren't you?" the ant leader said with a sigh.

"Damn it, you bunch of bastards, you scared me to death! You made me so worried, you really scared me to death!" Although I was cursing, I was still very touched inside.

I never expected to encounter such kind ants here. Although they are just ants, they are far better than those heartless humans.

Carrying the kindness of countless ants, I slowly crawled into the room...
