My Apocalypse: Infinite Rewinds

The Stage Revealed in Chapter 101

The top floor, which should have been brightly lit, was now blocked by curtains of dark colors. The bright red color was randomly splashed everywhere, making it extremely dark and gloomy. An eerie atmosphere lingered all around, and chilling howls could be heard from time to time.

Even at midday like now, sunlight still struggles to penetrate, and in this confined space, one can probably only vaguely discern the general outline.

The three of them walked casually through the eerie floor, showing no fear whatsoever. Wait, you're asking why there are only three?

"Hey, don't you guys find it eerily quiet here?" Li Kai trembled, looking uncomfortably at the three people walking ahead. "Such a strange atmosphere, and you don't even feel it?!"

"Alala, the young man looks scared!" Furong turned her head away and smiled meaningfully.

"Don't worry, Brother Li, at most there will be zombies here," Li Jing explained nonchalantly.

"Coward!" Xueying glanced at him coldly, her simple words causing even more heartache.

"Really? I was just saying, it's better to be safe than sorry, you know?" Li Kai blushed and tried to explain.

"Okay, okay, we all understand." The others gave him a knowing look.

"Ugh, this is so embarrassing!" Li Kai looked up at the sky with a face full of black lines. I'm not what you guys think!

"Alright, if there's nothing else, let's move on." Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Li Jing chuckled and pulled the grinning Furong forward.

"Hey"

"Hmm?" Li Kai looked down at the source of the sound and saw a small, white hand placed in front of him, crystal clear.

Xueying glanced around casually, then said in a seemingly casual tone, "If you're scared, you can hold my hand."

"Huh?!" Hearing the girl's words, Li Kai's mind went blank for a moment. What did she mean?

"Hurry up! If you're really scared, I'll protect you!" Xueying explained loudly, her flushed face reflecting her inner turmoil.

"Even if you say that, aren't you underestimating me? Do I need a girl to protect me?" Li Kai, a man of principle, said as he held the girl's cold little hand.

I have to give it a perfect score! Li Kai gave his opinion in his mind.

Hey, where did your integrity go?

"Squeak~!"

"I feel like something is watching me?" Li Kai suddenly turned his head to look at a corner, but there was nothing there, just pitch black.

Seeing Li Kai standing motionless, Xueying, her face flushed, couldn't help but whisper a reminder, "Hurry up and leave, they're all gone."

"Oh, let's go then." Li Kai finally turned his gaze back from the distance.

A cold wind blew slowly through the corridor, making people involuntarily shiver.

"That's strange. Was it just my imagination?" Li Kai murmured to himself. Was that chilling feeling just because of the cold wind?

"Is there something you need?" Xueying asked, puzzled.

"No, it's nothing," Li Kai replied absentmindedly. "Let's hurry up and go!"

"Wait, wait, why are you walking so fast!" Xueying shouted in dissatisfaction as she was suddenly pulled forward.

As the two disappeared ahead, a pair of blood-red eyes suddenly emerged from the darkness, their crystal-like color both captivating and dangerous.

"Strange, there aren't any zombies here at all?" Hibiscus looked around at the empty surroundings with boredom. "There were so many last time I came."

"Hey, how can you say something like this so casually?" Li Kai looked awkwardly at the bored Furong. Shouldn't there be as little of this as possible?

"No, no, that's different! You have to understand that scattered zombies and a horde of zombies gathered together are completely different concepts," Li Jing explained.

"You mean the remaining zombies have already gathered together?" Li Kai asked in surprise, his brow twitching.

"Well, who knows? At least I've never encountered such a situation before," Li Jing said with a smirk, completely lacking in manners.

"I really want to punch someone!" Li Kai clenched his fists, feeling an irrepressible urge to punch someone.

Perhaps sensing Li Kai's thoughts, Fu Rong's gentle voice came from in front of him, "Under normal circumstances, zombies will definitely be scattered to some extent, but there are exceptions, such as higher-level zombies forcibly ordering lower-level zombies to gather together, just like the king of a beast herd can command other members of the herd."

"Advanced? The monster you're talking about?" Li Kai asked疑惑地, having seen zombie gatherings before!

"Hmm, that's possible! If that's the case, our situation will probably be very bad." Hibiscus's tone unconsciously became heavy; the massive horde of corpses could crush everything.

"No, no, this place can't possibly hold that many people. Even if they were gathered together, the number would definitely not be that many," Li Jing said dismissively from the side.

“That’s right, I’m really strong when I’m with Brother Jing~” Furong hugged Li Jing’s arm and said sweetly.

"No, no, we are the strongest!" Li Jing proudly patted his chest, without the slightest affectation.

“Mmm~~” Hibiscus responded happily.

"I don't even know how to describe these two. They're completely oblivious to everyone else!" Li Kai covered his face, feeling incredibly ashamed that he could say something so shameless.

"Perhaps the reason they've been able to come this far is because of this," Xueying's voice, neither too loud nor too soft, reached Li Kai's ears. "It's because they have faith in their hearts that they've been able to face everything without fear and laugh all this time."

Hearing Xueying's words, Li Kai trembled and couldn't help but turn to look at the deep darkness. "Is that so?"

"Who knows!"

Looking at the seemingly endless entrance ahead, Hibiscus suddenly stopped and turned around, saying, "Alright, that should be our destination. Are you all ready?"

"This looks like a theater?" Li Kai managed to make out the words on the sign above: a medium-sized, standard theater.

"If that's the case, then there must be a lot of space inside?" Xueying asked perceptively.

“It is indeed a large place, which is perfect for our operations. As for the zombies, we don’t need to worry too much; their appetite is astonishing,” Li Jing said thoughtfully, stroking his chin.

"But I have a bad feeling about this," Li Kai said, touching his chest, the feeling of suffocation lingering in his mind.

"Don't worry~~ If we can't beat you, we can always run away." Furong patted his shoulder silently.

"Seriously, don't scare people like that, it'll really scare you to death!" Li Kai exclaimed, touching his still-shaken heart.

"Really, it's not easy for a young man with such courage to survive," Furong said with a regretful expression.

"I don't need you to teach me!"

"Enough of this small talk, let's go inside!" Li Jing pushed open the door and stepped inside.

"Ah~~ Wait for me, Brother Jing!" Furong stamped her foot and followed him inside.

“These two are really unreliable,” Li Kai sighed, holding Xue Ying’s hand.

"Aren't you unreliable too?" Xueying tilted her head and blinked her eyes at him.

"Yeah, he's always been unreliable, and this time probably will be no different—"

"I believe in you, no matter when or where!" Xueying suddenly covered his mouth and said firmly.

"You're making me feel embarrassed."

As the two stepped inside, the open door closed silently; the stage was already set up.
