My Apocalypse: Infinite Rewinds

"You like to bite, huh? Fine, I'll let you bite!"

With a series of "crackling" sounds, teeth fell to the ground one after another. Apart from the sound of teeth hitting the ground, the only other sounds in the room were the zombies' shrill screams and Li Kai's maniacal laughter.

"This should be quiet now, right?" Li Kai looked at the zombie that had stopped struggling, or rather, the zombie that had lost all will to struggle.

"Waaah~~ (My teeth, my proud sharp teeth, are all gone)" the zombie cried pitifully. At this moment, only traces of blood remained on its mouth, nothing else.

So, in the time that followed, Li Kai conducted all sorts of horrific experiments with the zombies, such as whether a severed arm could be reattached; whether zombies could eat their own flesh for nutrition; whether zombies could survive without internal organs; what the zombies' energy source was; and whether zombies had the potential to evolve.

By the way, you asked me if I've figured all of these things out? Isn't it obvious? Of course not—it's impossible!

You think this is a science forum where everything comes to the right conclusion? Please, do you really believe a guy who's been staying home for a long time and is gradually going crazy, and then does a few simple biological dissections? I certainly don't.

"Uh, finally almost there." Li Kai looked at the midday sun. It had been so long since he had seen such a sun. Sigh, life is like a dream. Is this a dream or reality?

"As Li Kai lamented the state of life, the zombie collapsed on the ground, twitching helplessly. I wish this were all a dream, an endless nightmare!"

"Who cares? Enjoy life while you can! I finally got rid of all the resentment I'd been holding in, I can't let myself sink into this slump." Li Kai rallied once again. How fast!

"But it seems, it looks like, it probably will have to happen again!" Composing himself, Li Kai looked at the messy room, then at the blood, flesh, and entrails scattered everywhere. So filthy, so disgusting. Seriously, don't you even look at who caused all this?

"No, I can't take it anymore, it smells awful, ugh!!" Li Kai, who had undergone countless dissections, vomited violently. "How come you never noticed this before?!"

"This is absolutely the last time, there will absolutely never be a next time!" Li Kai swore loudly as he woke up again. Pshaw, who knows if there will be a next time?

"This place will be my base from now on, so it can't be destroyed easily." Li Kai picked up the dagger and carefully opened the door.

"Roar (Who is this guy in front of me? Why do I feel scared?)" The zombie looked at Li Kai, who had kindly opened the door for him, and took a step back.

"Hi, we meet again." Li Kai extended his hand in greeting, then said firmly, "Don't worry this time, I will definitely solve the problem quickly."

"Roar? (How is this possible?!)" The zombie departed the world filled with questions. In its final moments, a single, crystalline tear rolled down its cheek, whether from regret or relief, it was impossible to tell.

I'm a zombie, the kind that's appeared many times before. I don't know what I did to deserve this miserable state, but today is my last appearance. I'm finally free! Oh no, I'd better hurry, or I'll be dragged back. (P.S.: Hey, wait a minute! My experiment isn't finished yet!)
