Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!
Chapter 95 Your Highness
Morris must have only learned of this towards the end of the war. He and Colin belonged to opposing camps and clashed on the battlefield, each encounter ending in a bloodbath.
But they were brothers.
Although Maurice, the female insect, appears carefree and unfeeling, she is actually the most reserved and uninhibited of them all.
Colin was his fraternal twin, sharing the same blood. They had both experienced similar misfortunes, supported each other through thick and thin, and even fled together as children.
Morris ultimately did not go all the way with Colin.
This very mistake led to his death on the spot.
Adrian closed the white paper, his mind a mess, and went to pour himself a glass of water and placed it on the table.
The cool water soothed his throat, clearing his confused thoughts somewhat. Adrian swallowed the nameless emotions in his heart and subconsciously picked up the personal terminal he had tossed aside.
The screen on the quantum computer flickered, and Adrian clicked in to scan it, only to find it was full of junk ads.
Adrian was inexplicably irritated. He scrolled to his chat window with Morris and typed in a line of insect script.
"Come back early in the evening."
After Adrian finished typing, his fingertips paused. He hesitated for a few seconds and typed another line of insect script. After typing it, he felt something was wrong and deleted it all.
The text in the chat box was edited and revised repeatedly, and the sentence was still not sent after a long time of editing.
Adrian was still organizing his thoughts when a sentence suddenly popped up on the screen above his computer, his fingertip hovering over the device.
"My lord, are you thinking of me?"
Adrian: "..."
"I'm not working overtime tonight, so I can come home early."
Adrian paused for a few seconds, then typed back: "You're still using your personal terminal at work?"
Morris responded quickly: "Because I was just thinking of you too, and I wanted to reply to your message."
Adrian scoffed. Maurice was getting better and better at sweet-talking him. Now, seeing these words, Adrian knew that Maurice must have been wearing a stiff and inexplicably innocent expression.
"Alright, alright, I know you miss me. You go to work now, I'll wait for you at home."
After typing the insect script, Adrian sent it to the other side. Morris replied instantly as usual, and this time he was very polite, simply saying "hmm" before quickly exiting the chat.
Adrian: "..."
Seeing that Morris had logged off from the StarNet, he also shut down his personal terminal.
The chill that had risen from the white paper was finally shaken off Adrian. He stood up and slowly pondered his next move.
Morris is currently unaware of Colin's identity, but Adrian is unsure whether Colin knows who Morris is.
Colin is now on Sean's side, and will likely remain at odds with Adrian afterward. In any case... Adrian won't give Colin another chance to harm Morris.
Adrian gripped the glass on the table; the water inside had long since cooled, and the chilling cold seeped into it.
Killing him is the safest option, but Colin has an unknown system protecting him, making it difficult to eliminate him.
Adrian pondered to himself that dealing with Maurice was also difficult. Maurice valued his brother Colin highly, and if Adrian were to actually kill Colin, it would be a major blow to Maurice.
Adrian was unwilling for their relationship to remain as strained and cold as before in this lifetime.
Adrian frowned slightly, pondering another solution, when the doorbell suddenly rang.
[An insect has come to visit—An insect has come to visit—]
Adrian stood up after hearing the mechanical voice. His villa was in a remote location, and apart from Morris who frequently came and went, no other insects had ever been here.
Adrian had been wary of Sean all this time and hadn't even shopped online, so he never expected that a bug would come to visit him on its own initiative.
Adrian walked behind the door and looked at the monitor on the mechanical screen, where he saw the male insect standing outside.
The male insect had blond hair and red eyes, and a tall, slender build. His leather shoes were polished to a shine, and he was standing in the doorway dressed in a sharp white tuxedo.
Perhaps because his black tie was tied too tightly and there were still wrinkles at the collar, he frowned and glanced at the security camera, a hint of impatience on his face.
Adrian was slightly surprised to see him. He unlocked the electronic lock and bowed to the male insect outside the door, saying, "Prince Arran, good day."
Arran paused for a few seconds, then bowed to Adrian in return, saying, "Lord Adrian, there's no need for such formalities."
Adrian was surprised that Aran would come to him on his own initiative. Aran was of noble status and had grown up in the palace, so it was not easy for her to see him.
“Sir, I have something important to discuss with you. Let’s go inside and talk.” Arran’s gaze lingered on Adrian for a moment, and he unconsciously pinched the tip of his nose before speaking.
Adrian's eyes flickered as he scanned the area, but he didn't see any female insects tracking or lying in ambush.
He stepped aside to make way for Aran: "Prince, please."
Arran quickly went inside. The first floor of Adrian's villa was fairly tidy, with everything arranged in its proper place and no trash piling up.
After entering, Arran glanced around at each room, as if searching for something. His gaze lingered for only a short time before he looked away after Adrian approached.
"Prince, what brings you here?" Adrian could vaguely guess Aran's purpose in coming here, but he didn't expose it. He poured Aran a cup of tea and sat down opposite him.
Arran's face was still pale from his long illness. He coughed twice and said, "Your Excellency, I have heard of your name before. Forgive me for misunderstanding you. I thought you were my brother Xien's lover, after all, you two were inseparable for a while."
Adrian: "..."
Adrian sensed the probing in Arran's tone and said, "Your Highness, Prince Sean only took extra care of me because I resemble his queen somewhat. We don't have that kind of relationship."
"Is it just because you resemble his queen somewhat?" Aran picked up the hot tea on the table. The temperature in February and March was still too low. Aran was thin, and her words sounded weak and feeble.
Adrian looked at him: "Prince, what do you mean by that?"
"It's nothing, I just wanted you to know a few things," Aran said, taking a few photos out of her pocket and placing them on the table. "Can you see the difference between them?"
The photo shows the corpses of several female insects. When these female insects died, they were all missing some part of their faces, such as ears, noses, or eyes... The gruesome state of their deaths was the same: they were all disemboweled, their internal organs were ripped out, and their intestines were pulled out and thrown aside.
Adrian looked at the photos but said nothing.
Arran picked up the photo of the female insect with its eyes gouged out and placed it in front of Adrian. "Your Excellency, its eyes, like yours, are a rare emerald green."
