Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!
Chapter 85 Murhira
Although Adrian is a male insect, his mental strength has reached a level where he can suppress the waves in his mental sea.
Maurice was ultimately smaller in stature, so Adrian's spiritual energy split into sharp blades to meet Maurice's relentless approach from above.
Morris was unable to dodge in time and was nearly pierced in the wing by the oncoming psychic spikes. He lost his balance and his entire body fell uncontrollably.
Adrian seized the opportunity, grabbed Maurice by the shoulder with one hand and slammed him onto the sea surface: "Little brat, who are you pretending to be?"
Morris's face was mostly soaked by the churning seawater. He struggled in Adrian's grasp, and many of the small pearls on his collar fell off. "You're incredibly bold—"
“Yeah, I’m pretty daring.” Adrian lifted him up with one hand and threateningly shook Maurice in the air. Maurice’s wet hair flew wildly, and his lips almost turned pale with fright.
Adrian smiled at him: "May I ask you, do you still have any complaints about me?"
Morris: "..."
He looked at Adrian with wet eyes. Adrian had no intention of making a move against him for the time being and waited for Maurice's answer with a half-smile.
Morris gritted his teeth, and after a moment he spoke, "...No."
Adrian snatched Maurice's longsword, and after hearing Maurice's reply, he seemed somewhat satisfied. He then lifted Maurice's thigh and made him sit on his arm.
"I've never seen you before. Who are you?" Adrian ruffled Maurice's hair, intentionally asking simple questions to ease his nerves.
Morris looked at Adrian's face. Adrian had fair and clean skin, thick and slightly curled eyelashes, and his eyes were misty with an indistinct layer of moisture due to the surrounding environment.
Morris coughed. "Carnostiel."
Adrian: "..."
“Are you telling the truth?” Adrian patted his lower back. “Tell me your full name.”
Morris pursed his lips, stared at Adrian for a few seconds with an uncertain expression, and then spoke again: "Kanastil Murihra".
Adrian: "..."
"...Do you know Morris?" Adrian was somewhat suspicious of the child's identity. Mulihera was the royal surname of the current Zerg race, and this little insect was actually using such a name.
Morris was honest; he shook his head and said, "I don't know him."
Adrian frowned, about to ask a few more questions, when he suddenly heard gunshots in the distance. The gunfire grew closer, the individual pistol shots escalating into machine gun fire, and the sky instantly darkened with clouds.
"Don't let him get away! Damn it, he ran that way!"
"Arrest them all and take them back. Execute any suspects on the spot!"
"Just like in the long photo, see it clearly? Send out the wanted posters..."
Morris's face turned deathly pale. Struggling, he turned and bit Adrian without thinking. Adrian felt a sharp pain in his neck and released his grip. Morris seized the opportunity to spread his wings and fly into the sky.
He hovered in mid-air, his lips moving as if he hesitated, as if he wanted to say something to Adrian.
Adrian clutched his neck and looked up: "Maurice..."
Morris ultimately remained silent. He turned and flew into the distance, disappearing into the ever-pressing dark clouds.
Adrian's pupils followed his flying figure. He took a step forward, and his eardrums were suddenly shattered by a gunshot.
At the same time, a figure in the dark clouds fell with the sound of a gunshot. The golden patterns on his wings flashed, and in just a few seconds he quickly fell into the sea, where he was swept away by the surging waves and disappeared without a trace.
Adrian's gaze sharpened: "Maurice!"
Adrian immediately used his mental power to suppress the surrounding water flow. Half of his body was submerged in the seawater, and he kept moving closer to the direction where Morris had fallen.
The female insect's own memory core exists within the sea of consciousness. Regardless of who the insect offspring is, since it exists deep within Morris's memory, it is a part that Morris values highly.
Once the insect cub is injured, the resulting memory fluctuations will further stimulate Morris's mental state, causing a new round of mental turmoil.
Ignoring everything else, Adrian swam towards deeper waters. His mental sea was in turmoil, and he could feel his mental energy rapidly dissolving and dissipating.
"Am I blind? I can't see."
"I...I can't see...What should I do? I didn't do anything to them, they just suddenly came up to me..."
Adrian heard other crisp sounds as he walked forward in the biting wind, feeling the fog in front of him thicken and thicken, as if deliberately obscuring the view ahead.
Adrian's mental energy was still rapidly depleting. He frowned and walked forward, deliberately pushing aside the thick fog in front of him to look ahead.
A series of sobs came intermittently from ahead, and Adrian guessed it might be the injured Maurice crying, so he quickened his pace.
“Maurice…”
It took Adrian a lot of effort to walk into the thick fog. The seawater almost submerged his neck. He struggled forward and finally saw the insect larvae hidden in the white fog.
“Maurice, don’t be sad, I will help you get better…” Adrian paused as he spoke. The little insect was crying with its back to him. Adrian couldn’t see its face, but he could clearly see the naturally curly white hair on its head.
Adrian stood frozen in place: "Who are you?"
The little insect didn't answer him; he turned his back to Adrian and wept, his sobs gradually subsiding.
The surrounding white fog thickened, and a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down from above. Adrian lost his footing and the entire insect plunged into the seawater.
The water in the mental sea was pitch black, and Adrian felt waves of suffocation rising up shortly after falling in. He mobilized his mental energy and controlled his body to swim upwards.
With everything in complete darkness, Adrian swam forward using his mental senses. Just as he was about to grab the insect's clothes, his body was suddenly pulled away forcefully by an external force.
Adrian realized that Maurice was signaling him to leave the mental sea. He ignored Maurice's instructions and continued forward, clearly indicating to Maurice that he was fine and didn't need to leave for the time being.
The external force did show signs of stopping, and Adrian was about to move forward when the force suddenly grabbed his ankle and dragged him away.
Adrian was caught off guard and plunged headfirst into the seawater. Before he could react, Morris forcefully squeezed him out of his mental sea.
"Cough cough..." Adrian frowned, opened his eyes, and his pupils were unfocused for a few seconds before he could see the scene in front of him clearly.
"My lord, are you alright?" Morris stroked Adrian's back and, before Adrian could speak, readily admitted his mistake, "My lord, I was just too worried about you. I didn't mean to push you out."
