“We’re already inside,” Cheng Jingyi’s voice rang out beside Shen Yisui.

He was always more familiar with the place than the others, and once inside, he knew exactly where to go next.

Yi looked around. The base camp was actually a zombie gathering place, with zombies coming and going in an endless stream. Only the mechanical building inside could be considered deserted, with no other zombies frequently entering or leaving.

This is a building that Cheng Jingyi built specifically for this purpose, and it is also the so-called high-level zombie access point.

Yi Yi was not surprised by his answer. He sighed and said to Shen Yisui, "It's not safe for the two of us to stay here. If our presence is exposed, any high-level zombie could wipe us both out."

“Let’s keep going, let’s go together.” Yi Yi walked ahead, but then he felt something was wrong and stepped back to Shen Yisui’s side.

He waved to Cheng Jingyi: "You stand in front of us."

"Be careful yourselves." Cheng Jingyi squeezed Shen Yisui's palm, then strode forward without saying anything more.

He had complete control over the layout of the building. Cheng Jingyi walked up the stairs, heading towards the top floor with a clear purpose.

The conference table inside was surrounded by high-ranking zombies dressed in pure black suits.

Cheng Jingyi immediately stopped the people following behind them. He looked up and saw the zombies sitting upright, their old bones covered by dark brown, withered skin, their faces frozen and motionless.

Their eyes were vacant, and they all stared straight ahead.

Cheng Jingyi unlocked the door and stood not far away. A figure was clearly visible, but it did not disturb any of the zombies inside.

“They’re all dead,” Yi Yi whispered from behind. “They were all drained dry.”

Unlike the zombies outside, these zombies had become mummies. Their blood had drained away, leaving traces all over the command room—round tables, square chairs, white walls… all covered in congealed black blood.

Cheng Jingyi glanced around at the scene inside and slowly walked in.

No wonder he didn't encounter any high-level zombies outside. They had all been drained of their blood, had their foreheads smashed open, their crystal cores ripped out, and were nailed to the chairs.

Shen Yisui walked inside. He couldn't see the surrounding scenery, but he could sense that the spiritual energy inside the room was becoming increasingly rich and mellow.

But all the zombie corpses are in the command room, so where is the zombie king?

"He moved... Brother, he moved..."

Everyone inside tensed up at the sound of his voice. One of the men, standing weakly beside a high-ranking zombie in the center, pointed to the zombie's finger and said he'd seen it move just now.

"This guy really knows how to hide. To avoid being noticed, he simply blended in with the others." Yi Yi stepped forward, pulled Weiwei behind him, and glanced at the zombies in front of them. "Looks like he's suffered a backlash."

Cheng Jingyi looked at the zombie. Its face was stern and somewhat fierce, with dark gashes all over its cheeks and limbs. Clumps of flesh tore open, clearly revealing the white bones beneath, shattered by mental energy.

He consumed too many crystal cores, which he could no longer control, and his body was overwhelmed by the excessive energy.

The energy had not yet dissipated; it clustered together within the zombies, continuously releasing pollution and mental pressure.

In that instant, an unusually sharp wail suddenly erupted from inside the room. The sound seemed to be a mixture of the screams of countless wronged souls, piercing eardrums and causing cracks to appear in the floor and walls.
