Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!

Chapter 236 Weak but Not Weak

"In a little while." Shen Yisui didn't have anything special to prepare. He stepped forward, took Cheng Jingyi's hand, and said, "I still have some food. Let's go after we finish eating."

As he spoke, he took out a few sausages from his pocket. He had casually stuffed them in there earlier, never expecting they would come in handy now.

There weren't many, about four pieces, just enough to fill my stomach.

Shen Yi handed the two sticks in his hand to Cheng Jingyi. Then he reached into his pocket and suddenly felt a slight, almost imperceptible pull on the hem of Cheng's clothes.

Shen Yisui's fingertips touched something cold, and his expression changed instantly. He grabbed the hem of his clothes and shouted, "Who?!"

Cheng Jingyi was also startled upon hearing this. He looked towards a dark spot in the cave and vaguely saw the outline of a blurry black shadow inside.

"Come out!" Cheng Jingyi frowned, and without uttering a single unnecessary word, his mental pressure instantly filled the entire cave.

"Don't, don't hit me!" The person hiding inside couldn't help but speak up immediately. He stood up and staggered out of the shadows.

Shen Yisui noticed the childishness in the voice and asked uncertainly, "Weak?"

Cheng Jingyi narrowed his eyes as he watched the short, frail figure slowly emerge from the corner. His face was exposed; the child's thin cheeks were covered in dust, and a large purple bruise stained his forehead.

As expected, he's weak, that little zombie who suddenly disappeared before.

He sniffed weakly, clutching the two sausages he had just stolen from Shen Yisui's pocket tightly in his hand, and looked at Cheng Jingyi, saying, "Don't hit me, I haven't eaten yet."

Cheng Jingyi frowned. He hadn't noticed when the zombie entered the cave or how long it had been inside.

"When did you arrive?" Cheng Jing asked ambiguously.

He lowered his head timidly, pointed at Shen Yisui, and said, "When he's sleeping."

After saying that, as if to take credit, he added, "I kept watch over him the whole time and didn't let any other zombies in. I... I didn't eat him either!"

Cheng Jingyi sneered. Before leaving, he sealed the cave with his mental power. Ordinary zombies couldn't get in at all, and even if they wanted to, Cheng Jingyi would sense it from a distance.

But Ruoruo didn't even touch his mental barrier.

He stared at Ruoruo, and then, as if sensing something, he pointed his sharp gaze clearly towards the dark and gloomy corner of the cave.

"Hey you over there, aren't you coming out? How can you have the nerve to let a child block your way?"

Weakling's face turned deathly pale. He rushed to the front of the black mass. With the spikes still attached, he threw both sausages he was holding at the ground, yelling, "Don't hit my brother! I'll give them back to you, I'll give them back to you... Please don't hit him!"

Before he could finish speaking, a hand pressed down on his head. The veins on the back of that hand bulged, and the dirty, tattered corner of his military uniform silently hinted at his special identity.

"Ruo Ruo, don't make a fuss... nothing has happened." The figure who had collapsed in the darkness stood up, pulled Ruo Ruo behind him, and walked towards Cheng Jingyi.

The man was wearing a tattered military uniform, and his face was mostly covered in dust. But his features remained unchanged; he still had those fox-like eyes that he had when they first met.

Cheng Jingyi's voice turned cold: "...Yi Yi?"

Yi Yi clutched her dislocated arm and smiled at Cheng Jingyi: "What a coincidence, Cheng the zombie! I didn't expect our fate to remain intact even though the house collapsed. We meet again so soon."

"Really?" Cheng Jingyi curled her lips slightly. "Didn't you deliberately follow me here?"

"I have no romantic feelings for you, so why would I follow you?" Yi Yi said helplessly, glancing at Shen Yisui as he spoke, and patting the head of the child behind him.

“It’s because my son, Ruoruo, refuses to leave. He insists that the woman next to you smells very good and that he wants to go with her. I’m heartbroken.”

Shen Yisui: "..."

He remained silent and weak, clinging to Yi Yi's leg, only revealing one lifeless eye as he looked at Cheng Jingyi.

Cheng Jingyi was indifferent to this. He stared at Yi Yi and said, "You're a soldier, and you dare to raise zombies under Lu Ran's nose. You've got some nerve."

"There's nothing I can do about it, I'll just have to live a life of ignominy." Yi sighed, looking at the empty air in the sky, and continued, "But I'm not going back, I was almost blown up just now."

His exposed shoulder was covered in bruises from being hit, mixed with dark red blood streaks, indicating that it was far more than just a dislocated shoulder.

Shen Yi listened silently from the side, and he finally understood what Yi Yi meant: "You want to come with us?"

“Yes, that’s right.” Yi Yi was very familiar with him. “We’re old acquaintances, can’t we go together since we’re going the same way?”

Shen Yisui: "..."

He paused for a moment, then said, "There are three zombies here, and you're the only normal human. Are you sure you want to come with us?"

“Ah…” Yi Yi drawled out his words. He hesitated for a few seconds before continuing, “I still have to go back in the future. Right now, I just need to send Ruoruo back to the base camp. He can’t go back to the East District with me.”

Ruo Ruo looked up at Yi Yi upon hearing this. He didn't say a word, but simply gripped Yi Yi's trousers tightly with his hand.

Shen Yisui did not give an immediate answer. Sensing the auras of the two people in front of him, he suddenly asked, "I had not sensed your presence before. Whose ability is this?"

He asked directly, pointing out all the oddities.

Ruoruo had come to their side silently more than once like this. Whether he arrived or left, he was like a ghost, and no one could sense his presence at all.

Yi Yi paused slightly, then looked at Shen Yisui and smiled, "I still couldn't hide it from you."

He pulled himself forward slightly and said, "His... my ability is water."

Shen Yisui tilted his head: "What exactly is it?"

"I can't really explain it either." Yi Yi didn't know much about it either. After thinking for a while, he tried to describe it, "If I had to, it would be... like invisibility."

"It's not a complete visual disappearance, but rather hiding and falsifying one's presence to ensure that one is not easily discovered by zombie hordes and military searches, thus reducing one's visibility."

The use of such sophisticated vocabulary made Shen Yisui somewhat understand.

No wonder he hadn't noticed Ruoruo before. Ruoruo's presence was extremely low. If he hadn't made a sound to expose himself, no one would have noticed him under normal circumstances.

Even Yi Yi's aura is extremely weak in the cave now, making her difficult to detect, which also indicates that her weak abilities can be applied to others.

This ability is very useful.

Shen Yisui had already made up his mind. He secretly squeezed Cheng Jingyi's palm and consciously took a step back.
