"Alright." Helpless to survive, it scanned the surrounding objects and continued to speak to Shen Yisui, "There's a metal rack ahead with two boxes of instant noodles."

Cheng Jingyi's fingers froze in mid-air. He grabbed Shen Yisui and abruptly stopped him from walking.

“Mine,” Cheng Jingyi said.

"I know, there's some for you in there." Shen Yi tied the bag in a knot and said simply, "We'll split it in half when we get back, I won't take yours."

Cheng Jingyi didn't speak. He grabbed the button on Shen Yisui's sleeve, and after a moment, he opened his hand to him: "Then give me the bag."

Shen Yisui: "..."

"Okay, here you go." Shen Yisui didn't argue with Cheng Jingyi any further.

The bag was quite heavy, as it contained a lot of items. Cheng Jingyi was willing to carry it herself, which saved Shen Yisui a lot of effort.

Cheng Jingyi reached out and took the garbage bag. He untied the knot on the black plastic bag and glanced at its contents.

Cheng Jingyi stuffed all the sausages he was holding into his shirt pocket, opened the trash bag, and watched as Shen Yisui put the bottles of water inside.

After Shen Yi finished relieving himself, he continued walking forward. Cheng Jingyi glanced at him and then took out a bag of compressed biscuits from the trash bag.

He stuffed both pockets full, hiding the cookies inside the lining of his shirt.

Shen Yisui mentally calculated the time it took to leave. There weren't many items in the supermarket, and someone had already been there before.

Perhaps due to a zombie attack or internal conflicts, items were scattered in various corners of the supermarket, food was left lying around, and water was left behind.

The zombies hiding behind the wall were still stirring restlessly, their rotting fingers revealing their knuckles as they frantically pried at the tiles on the wall that were about to fall off.

Upon seeing Shen Yisui enter the stairwell, they immediately changed direction and ran towards him, their legs swaying to the side.

Cheng Jingyi's eyes narrowed slightly. He turned back to look at them and stopped walking up the steps.

The zombies that had been rushing towards them suddenly changed direction. They began tearing at each other's shoulder blades and necks, their fingernails ripping at the black hair on their scalps. Blood mist spread between them as chunks of rotting flesh were devoured. They ripped apart each other's bodies, pulling out the crystal cores from under the skulls.

Cheng Jingyi didn't look back any further. He sensed that Shen Yisui had also stopped and strode in front of him.

Shen Yisui only heard the roars of the zombies. He didn't know the level of these zombies, but he could vaguely smell the blood and rot in the air.

"eat."

Cheng Jingyi muttered something on the stairs. Upon hearing the sound, Shen Yisui quickly snapped out of his reverie. Without lingering, he strode up the steps and disappeared with Cheng Jingyi.

The fight between the zombies lasted for nearly twenty minutes. They were all of similar level and low rank, and they all relied on tearing at each other's rotting flesh to launch their attacks.

With a few thuds, the heads of two zombies were ripped off, skin and all. Their necks were blackened, and pure black blood flowed continuously.

The last remaining zombie also fell silent; its arms had been torn off, and its skull was completely cracked open, leaving its contents exposed.

He took a few steps forward, bit down on another zombie's corpse, and mechanically gnawed at it.
