Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!

Chapter 119: Conspiracy to usurp the throne

Adrian was not surprised by Sean's actions. The Insect Emperor had repeatedly punished him, stripping him of most of his power, and now Arran was still in the palace, completely unaware of his situation with the Insect Emperor.

The unknown breeds fear.

Sean has lost his status as crown prince, and he dares not gamble with the few remaining powers he holds on the Insect Emperor's trust.

Adrian meticulously plotted and eventually forced Sean to rebel.

And this... is also forcing the Insect Emperor.

The news of Sean's uprising in the south of the city reached the Insect Emperor's ears on the same day. The Insect Emperor, who was seriously ill, was so angry upon hearing the bad news that he vomited blood twice more.

Within two days, Sean's army had breached all border defenses and was heading straight for the imperial palace. The Insect Emperor, despite his illness, issued orders for the military to deploy all six legions to fight the reactionary forces and capture Sean alive.

These corps included the Seventh Army.

Adrian changed into female uniforms beforehand and blended into the Seventh Army. Morris, with a bandage around his right eye, inspected the troops before leaving and noticed something unusual among the hundreds of female soldiers.

Adrian stood ramrod straight, but lacking training, his back began to sag after less than five minutes. Morris, standing above, suddenly leaped down from the platform and strode towards Adrian.

Adrian tensed up, pulled down his hat brim to look straight ahead, and straightened his body again.

Morris's military boots came into Adrian's view; they were pure black leather, with a few specks of mud on the edges of the soles. The boots curled upwards, outlining the powerful muscle contours of his calves.

"come out."

"..." Adrian stepped out from the ranks upon hearing the order.

He kept his head down, shifting his gaze so that only Maurice could see the military cap on his head.

Morris's jaw muscles twitched twice. He stared at Adrian for a moment, then turned to his adjutant and said, "How did a female soldier who can't even stand at attention properly get in here? Her basic skills are lacking. Drag her away and give her fifty lashes."

The adjutant glanced at Adrian, opened his mouth as if to say something but hesitated, and finally nodded and said, "Yes."

After speaking, Maurice was about to leave when Adrian's expression changed. He quickly reached out and grabbed the hem of Maurice's military uniform.

Morris paused, turned his head to the side, and saw Adrian wink at him twice, pretending to hide his eyes.

Those green eyes were wet, as if veiled in mist. It was as if they were showing weakness, or perhaps sincerely admitting their mistake.

Morris sneered, grabbed Adrian's hand, and slowly pried open Adrian's fingers, one by one, from his shirt.

“Send me a room.” Morris said softly. “I’ll do it myself.”

Adrian lowered his head again.

The adjutant stood still, his gaze shifting between the two insects, vaguely sensing an unusual atmosphere.

He ultimately couldn't figure it out and continued nodding, "Yes, Commander."

Adrian was then led into Maurice's room. Maurice was clearly in a bad mood; he leaned back in his swivel chair, looking down at documents, and placed his whip on the corner of the table.

Adrian's gaze swept across his desk, and he said, "Commander, I want to go to the front lines with you."

Morris didn't even raise his head.

“I can reassure you, and I’ll stay in the military camp the rest of the time, and I promise not to cause any trouble.” Adrian approached Morris, his eyes crinkling as he spoke in a gentler tone, “It’s not safe for me to be just an insect on the Imperial Star right now. What if the Insect Emperor suddenly wants to attack me? It’s safer for me to stay with you.”

Adrian hooked Maurice's finger around his and said slowly, "Commander, don't you think so?"

Morris scoffed; he had no intention of listening to Adrian's nonsense. If the center of the Imperial Star wasn't safe, was the battlefield any safer?

Any one of those shells could turn Adrian to ashes.

Morris's purple eyes were filled with turbulent emotions. He imagined the various places Adrian might have stayed in, and after careful consideration, he actually felt that Adrian's words made some sense.

If he stays with Morris, Morris can keep an eye on him, but if he stays on the Imperial Star, Adrian might be kidnapped by the scheming bug and sold cheaply on the black market again.

“I can put you in my clerk position. But if you break military regulations, I won’t let you off the hook.” Morris gripped the base of his whip with one hand, tapped it on the table, and threatened, “Did you hear me?”

Adrian chuckled. "Yes."

Within days, the flames of war on the border of the Imperial Star spread to various planets. All six legions of the military were mobilized, and large-scale battles broke out in multiple locations with the Royal Army females who followed Sean.

Adrian had experienced war in his previous life, and now that he was experiencing it again, the sound of cannons seemed even more deafening.

The fallen Zerg corpses lay buried in the deep ditch of yellow earth, the Legion banners fluttered, and countless female soldiers crossed the ditch bridge to begin the next round of defense and attack.

Adrian was helping the doctors with the rescue efforts in the military camp when stretchers carrying seriously wounded female soldiers rushed past him, the air thick with the pungent, irritating smell of blood.

It seems to overlap with the previous life, and then separate again.

Adrian collected his thoughts and remained in the military camp, quietly awaiting news from outside.

Half a month later, the war was nearing its end. Sean had less than half the number of Royal Army females he commanded. After putting up a stubborn resistance for more than ten days, Sean was forced to retreat to a desolate asteroid.

"Hahaha..." Sean's face was covered in blood. He had nowhere left to retreat, and he just stood in the center of the stronghold holding the corpse in his arms.

The defenses on all sides have been breached, and the female soldiers are surrounding Sean at a distance of more than ten meters.

"Prince Sean, His Majesty has decreed that you be brought back alive. If you surrender now, His Majesty will consider giving you a lighter sentence."

“Your Majesty, Your Majesty…” Sean curled his lips into a smile as he clutched the corpse in his arms. The corpse was dressed in a bright yellow shirt, and every part of its body was rotting and emitting a foul odor.

“Father…” Sean murmured to himself. He suddenly raised his head and burst into laughter at the female soldiers around him. “Father! It’s all your fault! It’s all your fault! Mulihera should have been destroyed long ago… Haha… It should have been destroyed long ago…”

As he spoke, he backed away, clutching the corpse in his arms. The pungent smell of fuel filled the room, mixed with a faint scent of gunpowder.

The female soldier frowned, and Sean suddenly threw down the lighter in his hand. In an instant, flames burst throughout the room.

"Ryan..."

After a deafening roar that shook the heavens, the entire house was blasted into pieces. Broken tiles and bricks fell from the sky, mingling with the corpses of some unknown insectoid creatures, and crashed to the ground.

Colin looked up at the plumes of black smoke rising from the ruins, soaring into the sky, and eventually dissipating slowly into the air along with the smell of gunpowder.

He tried to open his eyes wide, and for some reason, a tear fell.
