Xiao Xingchen listened quietly to Hong Fei's rants, occasionally asking a question. Hong Fei got more and more excited, ranting about all his friends in each world. But even though Hong Fei complained about each friend, it was clear from his complaints that he cared deeply for them. The so-called rants were just friendly banter and didn't mean anything by it.

Xiao Xingchen smiled, his eyes filled with understanding and envy for Hong Fei's pure friendship. He took a sip of tea and interrupted Hong Fei's endless chatter: "Hong Fei, your complaints sound more like proof that you care about them. Everyone's little flaws become adorable and unique qualities in your eyes."

Hongfei paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, slapping her forehead: "Oh dear, you saw right through me! Yes, I may be sharp-tongued, but I'm full of concern for them. I'm used to their little quirks. If I didn't have these things to complain about, I'd feel strange."

Xiao Xingchen nodded, his tone gentle: "That's how friends are, they tease each other, yet they support each other. Your friends are truly lucky to have a friend like you."

Hong Fei raised her eyebrows proudly: "Of course! I'm known for my loyalty; if a friend is in trouble, I'll be the first to step up!"

The two exchanged a smile, the atmosphere warm and harmonious. Xiao Xingchen continued to listen, occasionally interjecting a word or two to make Hong Fei's story more vivid and interesting. Their conversation not only revealed Hong Fei's deep affection for her friends but also demonstrated Xiao Xingchen's gentleness and wisdom as a listener.

As time passed and night deepened, Hong Fei finally finished his long-winded speech. He stretched contentedly and looked at Xiao Xingchen: "Today was truly enjoyable! It's been a long time since we've had a chat like this."

Xiao Xingchen smiled and replied, "Yes, I'm very happy to hear so many stories about your friends. I hope your friends can all feel your kindness."

Hong Fei chuckled and stood up: "Alright, it's getting late. We'll tell you more interesting stories next time. But, Xiao Xingchen, now that I've told you so much about the world of JX3, would you be interested in visiting it and seeing its scenery? Perhaps you could choose a sect and become its successor?"

Xiao Xingchen nodded in agreement and said, "Having heard about the wonders of the world of JX3, how could I not want to see it for myself? However, I will have to trouble Hongfei to introduce me to it."

"No problem, no problem. Leave it to me." Hongfei patted her chest and happily agreed.

As the moon rose in the east, their hearts were filled with the preciousness of their friendship. They both knew that no matter how the future changed, this pure friendship would always be their most valuable treasure.

Xiao Xingchen glanced at the sky and said to Hong Fei, "It's so late, Hong Fei, why don't you stay at my place for the night?"

"Big brother, you're too kind. I'd be more than happy to have you take me in," Hongfei said playfully.

"Then follow me." Xiao Xingchen gestured to Hong Fei and led the way.

Hongfei followed Xiao Xingchen to his dwelling and found it to be a small wooden cabin. There was a living room, a bedroom, and a guest room. An earring served as a kitchen, and a simple woodshed was built outside. In the courtyard, there was a well and a large peach tree. Flowers and plants were planted in the yard, giving the whole space a very elegant and tranquil feel.

Xiao Xingchen told Hong Fei to sit wherever she liked and then went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Hong Fei didn't notice at first that Xiao Xingchen was going to make dinner, but when she saw him, she went to help. However, once she got to the kitchen, Hong Fei realized that she could only help by watching the fire; she couldn't do anything else because Xiao Xingchen had already done everything quickly and efficiently.

"I never knew you could cook, big brother!" Hongfei exclaimed.

"Why do you think I can't cook?" Xiao Xingchen asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Because you look so refined and elegant, big brother, you don't look like someone who can cook at all," Hong Fei said honestly.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Xingchen's lips unconsciously curled up, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes. "It seems that appearances can sometimes lead to misunderstandings." As he spoke, he placed the chopped vegetables into the pot, and the aroma instantly filled the air, mingling with the fragrance of peach blossoms in the courtyard, creating a delightful and refreshing atmosphere.

“Actually, cooking is also a form of spiritual practice. It can calm the mind and allow one to appreciate every little detail of life,” Xiao Xingchen said slowly as he stir-fried the dishes. His movements were elegant and composed, as if he were performing a ritual, drawing people in with his tranquility.

Hongfei sat to the side, watching Xiao Xingchen's busy figure, a warm feeling welling up in her heart. She had never imagined that this seemingly extraordinary older brother would have such a down-to-earth side. She couldn't help but ask, "Big brother, do you often cook for yourself?"

“Yes, when I’m alone, I like to cook some simple meals for myself.” Xiao Xingchen replied with a smile. “Sometimes, food is not just about satisfying our appetites, but also about providing emotional support and making us feel a little warmth when we are busy or lonely.”

Hong Fei nodded thoughtfully. She had never had such an experience before, but at this moment she could deeply feel the gentleness and profundity in Xiao Xingchen's words. As the dishes in front of her gradually took shape, their colors, aromas, and flavors all complementing each other, her heart was filled with anticipation and gratitude.

At dinner time, the two sat around a small wooden table, enjoying this simple yet warm time. Xiao Xingchen's culinary skills were indeed superb; every dish was unforgettable. Hongfei praised the food as she ate, and the two chatted happily, as if they had been friends for many years.

As night deepened, moonlight streamed through the window, bathing the small space in tranquility and peace. Hongfei lay on the bed, gazing at the shifting light and shadow on the ceiling, her heart filled with gratitude and contentment. She knew this night's experience would become one of the most precious memories of her life. And Xiao Xingchen's gentleness and kindness would forever remain in her heart.

The next day, when Hongfei woke up and came out of her room, she saw that Xiao Xingchen had already gotten up and prepared breakfast.

"Hongfei, you're awake! Go wash up and then come have breakfast," Xiao Xingchen greeted Hongfei with a smile.

Hongfei yawned, blinked, and said, "Okay, I'll go wash up right away and be here in a bit."

Hongfei went to the well and drew a bucket of water. At this moment, Xiaoxingchen said, "There is hot water on the stove inside. You can just add some cold water to mix it in."

“Okay,” Hongfei replied.

Hongfei quickly fetched water and finished washing up. Then she sat down at the table and ate breakfast with Xiaoxingchen.
