"I want to check the hotel's check-in records; maybe we can find clues about the missing girl." Fei Peng tried to calm himself down as he entered the password. Characters flashed on the screen, and his heart pounded with each one. Just as he was about to open the message, a piercing alarm suddenly went off, plunging the entire hotel into a deafening noise.

"Quick! We have to go!" Fei Peng almost instinctively grabbed Xiao Ya, preparing to retreat. But just then, the shadow of the doorway drew closer, making his heart sink. He felt an invisible pressure, as if the entire space was shrouded in darkness. They couldn't stay here any longer; they had to find a way out.

"I...I've heard about that room. Some people say strange things have happened in there," Xiaoya said hurriedly, as if she had suddenly remembered something.

"You mean that room? We can't go back!" Fei Peng suppressed his fear and made a quick decision. He needed to stay calm, but the fear surged within him like a tide, making it almost impossible for him to think.

Just then, the shadow drew closer once more, and Fei Peng felt an indescribable sense of oppression, as if time itself had frozen. He turned around, gripped Xiao Ya's hand tightly, and braced himself for the potential conflict. He knew he could no longer back down; he had to confront this invisible enemy.

"What do you want?" Fei Peng tried to make his voice sound more firm, but he felt uneasy about what was about to happen.

The shadowy laughter rang in his ears again, a voice as chilling as the wind, "You think you can escape my grasp?"

Feipeng gritted his teeth, unwilling to be defeated by fear, a fierce fighting spirit flashing within him. The shadow before them seemed to await their panic, as if enjoying this chase. At this moment, Feipeng had to find a way to fight back.

"I don't know what you're planning, but I won't let you succeed!" he growled, his gaze sharp as a sword, fixed on the shadow.

"How laughable. You're just a martial artist; you can't possibly understand the power I wield," the shadow said coldly, with a mocking tone.

Huang Feipeng thought to himself that perhaps this shadowy figure was unaware of his potential as a martial artist. He turned to Xiaoya and said, "In any case, we must find the other missing girls; perhaps they can help us uncover the truth."

"But how can we find them?" Xiaoya's voice trembled, sounding utterly helpless. Feipeng, however, already had a plan in mind. He remembered the news he had just seen; perhaps he could contact the friends of other missing girls through social media.

“I can try contacting their families to see if I can get any information,” Fei Peng said confidently, secretly planning his next step. He knew that time was of the essence and he had to act quickly.

He quickly opened his phone, trying to find the missing girl's social media accounts. Xiaoya, meanwhile, anxiously looked around, seemingly filled with fear of the darkness. Huang Feipeng tried to concentrate, his fingers flying across the screen.

"It seems some people have posted news about the missing girls," he said excitedly, a glimmer of hope rising in his heart. "If we can find their whereabouts, perhaps we can uncover the truth behind this shadow."

Just as he was busy searching for information, he heard footsteps behind him. Fei Peng quickly turned around and saw the shadow approaching again, a sinister smile on its face, as if it wanted to take the opportunity to attack.

"It's no use, you have nowhere to run." The voice from the shadows was as cold as the night, making Fei Peng's heart tighten. At this moment, action had to be taken.

"We can't waste time here, let's go!" Fei Peng said urgently to Xiao Ya, pulling her towards the side door. He thought to himself that perhaps only by constantly moving could they avoid being captured.

Xiaoya followed closely behind, still filled with fear, but she was also inspired by Feipeng's courage and gradually strengthened her resolve. They pushed open a side door and entered a dimly lit corridor. Old posters adorned the walls, seemingly telling tales of the past.

"Where are we going?" Xiaoya finally mustered up her courage and asked Feipeng.

“I remember there’s a small courtyard behind the hotel; maybe we can find our way out from there,” Fei Peng pondered. Though uneasy, he knew they couldn’t stop there. They had to find a safe place and devise an escape plan.

"Then let's hurry!" Xiaoya responded enthusiastically, following closely behind. Huang Feipeng felt a warmth in his heart; although the road ahead was fraught with danger, at least he was no longer alone.

They moved cautiously down the corridor, trying to make as little noise as possible. Every step felt like walking on a knife's edge, keeping their hearts pounding. Suddenly, a window appeared at the end of the corridor, and the night sky outside seemed to beckon them. Fei Peng's heart skipped a beat, and he decided to rush towards that window.

"There's a window here, we can get out from here!" he said urgently to Xiaoya, his heart filled with hope.

"But...it's very high here, jumping down would be very dangerous!" Xiaoya said with a worried expression and unease in her voice.

“We have no other choice, we have to try,” Fei Peng said firmly, pushing open the window and feeling a gust of cold wind rush in. The view outside made him dizzy, but he knew in his heart that the opportunity was right in front of him.

"I'll go down first, you wait down here," Fei Peng said in a low voice, secretly resolving that he had to become her protector.

"I don't want to stay here alone..." Xiaoya's voice was filled with fear, but she also knew that she couldn't back down now.

Huang Feipeng stood on the balcony, feeling both nervous and expectant. Through the dim light, he could vaguely see figures on the street in the distance. Although the noise was deafening, it brought him a long-lost sense of security. He took a deep breath and quickly turned to Xiaoya, calling out, "Come on, the window is fine!"

Xiaoya hesitated by the window, fear and unease flickering in her eyes, as if she were considering each step to take. Feipeng understood her worries, but there was no turning back now. He thought to himself, "I must give her enough confidence."

“I’ll wait for you here. I promise I won’t let you get hurt.” Fei Peng tried to soften his voice, attempting to calm her nerves. He remembered the despair and helplessness on her face and felt a pang of heartache. In the brief moment he waited, Fei Peng’s gaze swept back to the window, his thoughts racing: if they could escape the hotel and find a safe place to hide, everything would be different.
