Rebirth of a Top Student's Handbook

Chapter 102 Teacher Gong is hospitalized

Zhang Kun feigned surprise and asked, "Zhou Min, why aren't you going home for the holidays?"

Zhou Min countered, "Then why don't you go home?"

"We guys aren't as attached to home as you girls, so isn't it normal for us not to go home?"

Zhou Min frowned and said, "Then don't generalize. There are plenty of guys who go home, it just means you're not homesick."

"Of course, as a future researcher, how can I be homesick? I plan to dedicate my entire life to scientific research."

"Stop bragging! This is nothing compared to what you've accomplished in scientific research."

Ever since Zhou Min and Zhang Kun had their last argument, they've been arguing every time they meet, each trying to break down the other's defenses.

Just as the two were exchanging insults, a teacher suddenly walked down the corridor.

This teacher was also the one who went to Zhou Min's class yesterday to inform them about self-study.

He saw Zhou Min and Zhang Kun standing at the door of Teacher Gong's office, so he stopped curiously and asked, "What are you two doing here?"

Zhou Min and Zhang Kun replied in unison, "We are waiting for Teacher Gong!"

The teacher frowned and said, "Don't wait anymore, Teacher Gong won't be coming today."

Zhou Min and Zhang Kun exchanged a glance, both finding it somewhat unbelievable.

How could a workaholic like Teacher Gong take a vacation?

Seeing the incredulous looks on Zhou Min and Zhang Kun's faces, the teacher sighed and said, "Your teacher, Ms. Gong, is in the hospital right now."

"Huh?" Zhou Min and Zhang Kun were both surprised.

Neither of them had expected this situation.

Fortunately, Zhang Kun reacted quickly and asked the teacher directly, "Teacher, could you tell us which hospital and ward Teacher Gong is in? We would like to visit him."

The teacher hesitated for a moment and then said, "Yes, it's in room 812 on the eighth floor of the Second Military Region General Hospital."

After saying that, she added, "When you go over there, be quiet. Just go and take a look by yourselves, and don't tell anyone else about this. Teacher Gong doesn't want too many people to know about this."

Zhou Min and Zhang Kun nodded repeatedly. After saying goodbye to their teacher, they quickly rode Zhou Min's electric bike to the school gate, bought some fruit and milk, and then took a taxi directly to the hospital.

When the two arrived at the hospital, they saw Teacher Gong sitting on the hospital bed reading a book.

However, because one hand was injured, it was very difficult for the other hand to turn over.

Seeing this, Zhang Kun rushed into the ward and said, "Teacher Gong, let me help you!"

After saying that, he sat down by the hospital bed and started turning the pages of the book for Teacher Gong.

Teacher Gong looked up and saw Zhou Min and Zhang Kun. She was taken aback for a moment and asked, "What brings you two here?"

Zhou Min and Zhang Kun exchanged a glance and said apologetically, "We just wanted to go to your office to see if there was anything we could do for you. Then we ran into the teacher in the next office and heard what he said."

Gong Yu frowned. He hadn't expected Lao Huang to be so unreliable. He had told Lao Huang not to tell anyone yesterday, but Lao Huang had told others the very next day.

Looking at Teacher Gong's heavily bandaged right hand, Zhou Min asked in shock, "Teacher Gong, how did your hand get injured like this?"

Teacher Gong casually said, "It's nothing!" and continued reading.

Zhou Min realized for the first time that Teacher Gong was also a master of nonsense, seemingly answering questions but actually saying nothing at all.

Seeing Zhang Kun's servile manner as he squatted in front of the hospital bed, Zhou Min felt that she should also try to make a good impression.

Zhou Min quickly took the fruit she bought to the bathroom to wash it, and then made a fruit platter before serving it to Teacher Gong.

Because Zhou Min's family owns a restaurant, Zhou Min has also developed a skill in making fruit platters.

Teacher Gong stared blankly at the beautifully arranged fruit platter in front of her.

Finally, unable to resist Zhou Min's expectant gaze, he used his good left hand to pick up the fork and began to eat the fruit on the plate.

After eating two pieces, Teacher Gong cleared her throat and said to Zhou Min, "Put it on the table, I'll eat it later."

Zhou Min glanced at the bedside table next to her and felt that it was still a bit far. Placing it on it would be very inconvenient for Teacher Gong.

So he refused, saying, "It's okay, I'll take it."

Mr. Gong was momentarily embarrassed by the two people. This was the first time in his life he had been injured and the first time he had been served like this.

Zhou Min and Zhang Kun, however, were completely oblivious to Teacher Gong's embarrassment and seized the opportunity to show off their abilities.

Even though Teacher Gong refused repeatedly, the two of them still helped her tidy up the ward.

Finally, Teacher Gong couldn't take it anymore and assigned them a ton of homework before sending them back home.

After leaving the ward, the two were both unhappy and blamed each other: "It's all your fault!"

"It was clearly you..."

......

While walking and arguing, Zhou Min suddenly saw the nurses' station ahead and quickly ran away.

Zhou Min was actually quite curious about how Teacher Gong's hand got injured, especially after Teacher Gong avoided answering the question.

So now when she sees the nurses' station, she wants to go over and ask about the situation.

Zhang Kun, who was about to turn right towards the elevator, turned around and saw that Zhou Min had not only not followed him, but had also gone towards the nurses' station, so he quickly followed after her.

As Zhang Kun approached, he heard Zhou Min ask the nurse, "Hello, nurse, I'd like to ask about Gong Yu's condition in room 812."

The nurse looked up and saw Zhou Min's sweet smiling face. She relaxed her brow slightly and asked, "Who are you to him?"

Zhou Min knew that many doctors and nurses would not easily reveal a patient's condition, so she quickly put on a pitiful expression and asked, "Nurse, the person lying inside is our teacher. We are here on behalf of the whole class to visit him, so we want to know more about the situation so we can give the rest of the class an explanation."

Seeing that the two looked like students and didn't seem to want to lie, the nurse hesitated for a moment and said, "Your teacher is fine. She just suffered a minor injury and can be discharged in a few days after the stitches are removed."

"What kind of external injury?" Zhang Kun asked, following up.

The nurse hesitated for a moment, but continued, "It's a knife wound. It might have been from a fight. The police came by yesterday morning."

The nurse had barely finished speaking when she received a phone call and hurriedly went to deliver the items.

Only Zhou Min and Zhang Kun, their eyes wide with shock, remained standing there.

The two of them could never have imagined that the aloof and serious Teacher Gong could be associated with the word "fighting".
