Rebirth of a Top Student's Handbook
Chapter 101 Teacher Gong Didn't Come
In this atmosphere, Zhou Min's attention became more and more focused, and her learning efficiency improved a lot. It has to be said that Teacher Gong and Wang Mingyue deserve a lot of credit for this!
In the classroom, Zhang Kun and Zhou Min were secretly competing with each other, both of them unanimously regarding each other as their biggest rivals.
However, the peaceful days were not long before they were shattered.
It was supposed to be Mr. Gong's class that day, but he didn't show up even after ten minutes of class. This was something that had never happened before.
Teacher Gong has always been a very punctual person, arriving a few minutes before class each time.
Zhou Min thought that Teacher Gong might have forgotten that he had class today, so she sent him a message urging him to come to class.
Zhou Min suspected that the main reason Teacher Gong forgot the time was that today was April 30th, which was originally a weekend, but because the school would start the May Day holiday tomorrow, the class scheduled for next Friday was moved to today.
Zhou Min waited for a while but didn't receive a reply from Teacher Gong, nor did she see him come to class.
Just as Zhou Min was getting anxious and was about to call Teacher Gong again...
A teacher-looking person hurriedly walked into the classroom, stood in front of the podium, and said to the students in the classroom, "Teacher Gong has something come up today and can't come. You will all study on your own in the classroom for the next two periods." After saying that, he left in a hurry.
Zhou Min was taken aback by the teacher's words and couldn't help but think: Teacher Gong is always a very punctual person. What kind of emergency would make him send someone over to notify everyone to study on his own?
Since she hadn't received a reply from Teacher Gong, Zhou Min didn't dwell on her doubts. She simply kept reading her book in the classroom.
Even when Zhou Min returned to her dormitory that evening, she was still thinking about this matter when she suddenly saw a difficult problem on her desk that she hadn't been able to solve before.
Zhou Min thought this was a good opportunity to ask Teacher Gong what had happened while she was asking questions. So she took a picture of the question and sent it to Teacher Gong.
Normally, if Teacher Gong sees the message at this time, he will quickly reply with the solution.
However, Zhou Min waited quite a while today but didn't receive a reply from Teacher Gong. Adding to the message from this morning, Zhou Min hadn't received a reply from Teacher Gong all day.
This is something that almost never happens before. Even when Mr. Gong is busy, he usually replies to messages within half a day at most. But today, it's as if he has suddenly disappeared.
Zhou Min couldn't help but worry. Whether it was a woman's innate sixth sense or simply because she had read too many news reports, terrifying images kept flashing through her mind.
Still worried, Zhou Min gritted her teeth and dialed Teacher Gong's number. The phone rang for a while before someone answered.
"Hello." Teacher Gong's voice was slightly nasal, low and hoarse, as if she had just woken up.
Zhou Min blushed upon hearing this; it was the first time she had ever called Teacher Gong.
His voice rang in my ears from close range, like a deep cello. It was melodious and went straight to my heart.
Zhou Min, who is a complete voice enthusiast, blushed at Teacher Gong's deep voice.
Zhou Min perked up and said, feigning composure, "Teacher Gong, why didn't you come to class today?"
After a few seconds, Teacher Gong said, "It's nothing, something came up."
"I sent you a message today, but you didn't reply."
"Wait a moment, let me take a look."
Zhou Min only heard a rustling sound, probably the sound of the blanket and clothes rubbing together when Teacher Gong got up.
Less than two minutes later, Teacher Gong began explaining the problem-solving approach to Zhou Min on his phone.
A problem that Zhou Min found very difficult, one that he had racked his brains for two or three days without being able to solve, was solved by Teacher Gong after just a couple of glances.
Zhou Min couldn't help but sigh at how uneven human intelligence really is.
Teacher Gong's voice was deep and steady, but Zhou Min had no time to appreciate it. She quickly grabbed a pen and started taking notes on the paper.
After Teacher Gong finished speaking, he asked Zhou Min again, "Did you understand?"
Zhou Min nodded repeatedly, but remembering that Teacher Gong couldn't see, she quickly added, "I understand."
Listening to Professor Gong's voice, Zhou Min sensed a weariness and weakness. She couldn't help but wonder: Was he overworked from his research and getting sick?
Thinking of this, Zhou Min casually asked, "Teacher Gong, are you feeling a little unwell?"
Instead of answering the question, Teacher Gong asked Zhou Min, "Do you have any other questions?"
When Zhou Min was asked by Teacher Gong, she suddenly became shy and said bashfully, "Teacher Gong, I'm not going home for the May Day holiday. Could I come to your lab to learn something? See if there's anything I can do. I can even do cleaning."
Zhou Min knew that Professor Gong was a workaholic. He even stayed in the lab during the Spring Festival, and he would definitely stay to work during holidays like May Day.
Unfortunately, Zhou Min waited for a while, but Teacher Gong did not agree. He only said, "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now."
Zhou Min was disappointed that she didn't get Teacher Gong's permission. Because tomorrow was May Day, many students who lived nearby or had bought train tickets for that evening had already left after school today. Zhou Min was left alone in her dormitory.
Zhou Min took the problem that Teacher Gong had just explained and recalculated it.
After finishing the calculations, I took out the other books and materials and studied them again.
Even after studying until late at night, Zhou Min still hadn't given up. Zhou Ming thought: "Professor Gong didn't agree on the phone, so I'll just go to his office or lab tomorrow and wait for him. Surely he won't kick me out then?"
With this thought in mind, Zhou Min finally fell asleep peacefully.
The next morning, Zhou Min finished breakfast early and hurriedly rode her electric bike to Teacher Gong's office.
I also ran into Zhang Kun at the office door.
Clearly, their thoughts were aligned once again. Zhang Kun was also somewhat surprised to see Zhou Min.
Both of them sighed inwardly at their bad luck!
