Berserk: The Prophet

Chapter 27 Gonnie?

............

At that moment, it was as if time itself had frozen.

"Hiss..." Jiedu was completely stunned.

"Well!!"

Realizing what was happening, Gerry struggled frantically, trying to push Green away, but Green didn't budge. Instead, Green's other hand clamped both of Gerry's hands tightly above his head.

Damn it, how can this person be so strong! Seeing that the other party was going too far, coupled with extreme lack of oxygen, Gerry bit Green's lip hard in a fit of anger.

"Hiss... You're so fierce, little girl."

"But, I like it."

Green released Gerry from his struggle, touched his bleeding lip, and fell into deep thought. He had been too impulsive; it wasn't like him at all. He had kissed Gerry without even realizing it.

"Cough, cough cough. You...bastard! I..." Gerry squatted weakly on the ground, coughing and gasping for fresh air. Before he could even catch his breath, he was about to start cursing.

"Consider this kiss as repayment for hitting me! We're even!"

Once she calms down from her furious state, she'll definitely catch up and beat me up without hesitation. I'd better run away as fast as I can!

Green knocked Pani off his foot and quickly grabbed Bazso to run away. Bazso had just recovered enough, and together they began their escape through the alleyways.

"Damn it! Don't run!" Just as Gerry caught his breath, he saw that this unreasonable person was about to run away, so he quickly chased after him.

Jiedu then realized what was happening and quickly grabbed some pebbles from the roadside to catch up.

"You bastard! How dare you bully Boss Gurney! I'll never forgive you!" Pani, who had a mouthful of sand, slurred as she got up from the ground and chased after him.

The two players who had just finished hitting the ball on the ground were completely unaware of what was going on, and only felt that Gerry (Green) must have suffered a great loss (gained an advantage).

............

Goni? No, isn't her name Goni?

Unexpectedly, that guy caught up so quickly. They ran through several alleys but still couldn't shake him off. They could see large areas of cloth drying in front of them, which looked like the vicinity of a textile shop.

I glanced back at the persistent little girl; she really had a lot of perseverance!

"What? Are you chasing me so closely because you want to do it again?"

"You... Ahhh, stop right there, you bastard! Let's fight!" Gerry was furious.

"Hahaha, only a fool would stand there and let you hit him!"

The feeling of teasing someone you like and then running away is so exciting! Green's face was beaming with a smug smile, but he soon got his comeuppance.

"Thud!" A pebble hit Green precisely on the back of the head.

"Hiss!" Looking at the culprit, the familiar blond-haired kid was running around with a rock in hand, ready to hit him again. If there weren't any large rocks around, his head would probably be bleeding.

Bazso was also hit by a flying pebble; the pebble was thrown quite hard!

Green made his way through the maze of bushes and, using the cloth as cover, quickly pulled Bazso inside and lay down.

"Tap, tap, tap."

"Stop!" Before Gerry and the other two could react, they continued to chase after them.

Hearing the footsteps running far away, Green finally lay down in the grass and laughed.

"Ha...ha...I'm exhausted." Bazso relaxed and lay down on the ground, feeling utterly exhausted.

"Haha, let's go, Bazso!" Green patted Bazso on the shoulder with a beaming smile, ready to take a shortcut back, his stomach already growling with hunger!

"Haha, great!" Thanks to the boss's cleverness, we finally don't have to run anymore.

The two returned to the castle laughing and chatting about the "thrilling" experience they had just had.

............

"hateful!!!"

"A cunning fellow!!"

After running around for half a day, Gerry realized that the two people had long since disappeared. He was furious but there was nothing he could do, and he collapsed to the ground from exhaustion.

"Ha...ha...what happened? Why are you so angry?" Pani asked, clueless. He was already exhausted; he had never run like this before.

“My advice is… it’s best not to ask.” Judau patted Pani on the shoulder, and thankfully, the simple-minded Pani didn’t ask any further questions.

"It's okay, they'll definitely come to my house to pick up their clothes again. They've already paid the deposit! Next time, we'll definitely catch those two cunning rats!" Pani comforted her.

"Alright... let Gerry have some peace and quiet by himself..."

Gerry looked down at his slender hands, which seemed far too pampered compared to his. There were red marks on his wrists from where Gerry had scratched him.

He grabbed a handful of pebbles from the ground and threw them far away with great force, as if he was sulking.

I'll never let you get away with this, you wretched bastard!!!

They returned just before dusk, at the perfect time, and the servants prepared some food to tide them over.

The castle was bustling with activity. Knights had just changed out of their armor and were chatting inside, while servants were exchanging words outside. The stables were packed with tall horses, and the servants were diligently feeding them.

I took a quick bite. Tonight's main meal will be served at the same time as the dinner banquet, and tables have already been set up outside.

After a quick bite to tide them over, the two of them headed to the training ground. The training ground was even more lively than in the morning, with many adults practicing together. Almost everyone was gathered there, watching their fights.

Green and Bazso naturally joined in, as watching their fight was a valuable experience and practice for real combat. After observing carefully, they began to wield their greatswords on the sidelines.

As dusk fell, many people dispersed and found seats. Although few brought their pageboys, there were always a few exceptions. Grin, Bazso, and the pageboys of the other knights sat together.

As darkness fell completely, the dishes for the evening banquet were finally served, and the feast officially began. His Majesty the King spoke first to comfort the soldiers, but the attendants could not directly see His Majesty's face. The windows on the castle were wide open, and they could hear the King's speech clearly. The music temporarily stopped.

"Thank you for your hard work, warriors who fought for Midland! The White Dragon Knights deserve immense credit for bringing victory to the kingdom. Reward them!"

"A reward of 10 bolts of silk, 40 pounds of black pepper, and 2000 gold coins for military expenses will be given to Yuris, the commander of the White Dragon Knights!"

"Each knight of the White Dragon Knights will be rewarded with two gold coins and one pound of silk. Those who distinguish themselves in this battle will be promoted one rank!"

"The wedding of Commander Yuris and Miss Diana will be held at the end of this month!!"

After the protocol officer finished reading, cheers and applause erupted one after another. Downstairs, Green and the others started eating immediately after the cheers, while the music upstairs resumed. Presumably, all the nobles had begun their romantic dances, and the banquet would only begin after the dances.

Of course, this was all what Green heard from the servants outside.

"When will we be able to become full-fledged knights?"

"It was only a matter of time..."

The noble-blooded squires were filled with a sense of certainty, while the commoner squires cheered and celebrated for a while before going back to drinking in silence, because at least in the White Dragon Knights, commoners could not become knights.
