Berserk: The Prophet

Chapter 263 The Fall of the "Fire Dragon's Nest" (26) - The Past of This Place <9&

Saimile Buddha roared angrily, though his voice had lost its former intimidating power, it was still full of rage and resentment: "Edvarut, you despicable villain, you slandered me and deceived the people for your own selfish desires, you are the real sinner!"

Edvarut sneered, "Hmph, what's the use of saying all this now? Look at yourself, covered in blood. We're all human blood, but now you're just a beast that goes on a killing spree. Who will believe you?"

“And me! I testify as Princess Grant that Semily Buddha has never harmed the innocent! It is you who have been forcing it and trying to kill it!!” Benny shouted these words hoarsely, her voice echoing through the mountains.

She left the protection of Semirfodo, took a step forward, and looked directly into Edvarut's eyes without fear.

Edvard's smug expression froze instantly, replaced by anger: "Benny, you've been bewitched by this dragon! It's not too late to turn back. If you come back to me, I can forgive and forget."

“I was not deceived, I am the one who sees the truth!” Benny shouted with all her might, “All these years, Semmelford has lived alone in the mountains and never disturbed humans.”

"It was you who, in order to consolidate your rule, fabricated lies, bewitched people, and used every trick in the book to deceive everyone. The lie about dragons eating people was nothing more than your own deep-seated fear of the dragon's power. You are the real murderer!!"

Upon hearing Benny's words, the soldiers began to whisper among themselves, a hint of wavering in their eyes.

Edvard was enraged by Benedict's accusations, his face flushed red. His eyes widened in fury, and he lashed his riding whip across the ground, roaring hysterically, "Insolence!! This is utterly deceitful! As the princess of Grant, how dare you betray your country and people and join forces with evil dragons! No one can save you today!" With that, he waved his hand, ordering his soldiers and familiars to continue their attack.

The soldiers, who had been crushed by the dragon and were now only able to stand on one side, hesitated. Even though the dragon was already seriously injured, it was still beyond the capabilities of these mortals. Fear and unease spread throughout the army.

"Are you deaf?!" Edvarut roared.

The diviner sensed something was wrong and hurriedly waved his staff, quickening his incantation. One after another, huge rock golems rose from the ground and strode heavily toward the mountaintop.

Seeing the soldiers' morale wavering, Edvarut flew into a rage: "Have you forgotten the blood your brothers shed? That dragon has become the murderer of your loved ones! Are you going to let it continue to run rampant on this land? It will never let you go!!"

Edvarut's words were like a sharp blade, piercing the nerve of hatred in the soldiers' hearts. Some soldiers thought of their relatives and friends who were claimed to have died at the hands of the dragon, and a resolute glint flashed in their eyes. They gripped their weapons tightly, and their fighting spirit was rekindled.

...They have no way out; they must eliminate this threat completely!

With its last ounce of strength, Saimile Buddha pushed Benny backward, but Benny clung tightly to its scales, refusing to budge an inch.

“Benny, listen to me, find a chance to escape later. They’re after me, so they shouldn’t make things difficult for you,” Samantabhadra said in a low voice with difficulty.

Benny shook her head desperately, tears blurring her vision: "No, I won't leave, I want to stay with you."

Looking into Benny's resolute eyes, Saimile Buddha felt a mix of helplessness and reluctance. He knew the situation was critical; if nothing was done, both of their lives would be in danger.

Not far away, the Feather Fairy and the Flower Fairy arrived to help. They were so small in size, yet they were the last allies of Samantabhadra and Benedict.

"Benny... I'm counting on you all."

The dragon conveyed its final instructions to the fairies through its thoughts. Although the feather fairies and flower fairies were small in size, they nodded without hesitation, their bodies shimmering with light as they gathered their elemental power.

Before Benny could react, the wind spirits carried her away from the battlefield.

Benny struggled desperately in the air, calling out the name of Samantabhadra, but her voice was quickly swallowed up by the howling wind.

Saimile Buddha took a deep breath, enduring the excruciating pain throughout his body, and mobilized the last of his magical power to unleash a scorching dragon breath at the rock golem.

The dragon's breath, carrying a devastating force, slammed into the foremost rock golem, producing a deafening roar. The golem was instantly scalded by the scorching dragon's breath, cracking open and falling to the ground, the flying debris crushing the soldiers who were charging alongside it. The remaining dragon's breath also caused the soldiers to scream in agony.

"Roar!!" With a mournful cry of unwillingness, the dragon launched its final charge.

As the diviner finished chanting his incantation, the magic circle appeared, and four rock golems, each imbued with a different element, positioned themselves in the four directions of the dragon, their stone fists slamming into the ground beneath their feet.

In an instant, a huge magic circle appeared under the feet of Saimile Buddha, and countless chains shot out again, binding his limbs one by one.

The Maitreya Buddha struggled desperately, but the chains seemed to have a life of their own, tightening their grip and embedding themselves deeply into its scales, causing blood to drip continuously down their length.

Despite being bound, it continued to roar angrily, trying to break free of its chains. Its red scales were scorching hot due to the elemental turmoil within it, glowing with golden fire, and the intense heat distorted the surrounding air.

"...O primordial serpent dwelling in the River of the Underworld, according to the covenant of our ancient ancestors, you are the master of water. Please heed my plea and extinguish this flame that is enough to burn the world!!" (Ancient incantation)

The diviner dared not slacken his efforts. As he uttered the incantation, the calm sea suddenly surged with waves, rolling like a tsunami. In an instant, dark clouds gathered, and a powerful waterspout shot out from the sea. The sky-filling waves transformed into a colossal python, hissing as it lunged toward the direction of Saimile Buddha.

It carried immense water pressure, crushing vegetation and carving deep trenches into the ground wherever it went. It exuded a chilling aura, and each step it took brought with it a biting wind, a stark contrast to the scorching dragon breath spewed by Sai Maitreya Buddha.

Saimi Lefo felt a deadly threat. Its eyes turned bloodshot with anger and resentment, and the last remaining magic within its body surged wildly, trying to melt the chains binding it.

The air currents generated by the water python caused the surrounding trees to shake violently, and the chains cooled down a bit.

The dragon and the great serpent gaze at each other from afar, their eyes revealing their hostility.
