Berserk: The Prophet
Chapter 22 Mission
............
As dusk fell, a group of children gathered together again, chatting amongst themselves, but it was clear they hadn't gained anything.
"Damn it, we can't find it no matter how hard we look."
"Yes, they must have already left. I've never heard of or seen two children like that in the city."
"Doesn't seem like someone from the city..."
Listening to their conversation, Gerry sighed helplessly. The hope he had finally seen had faded again. Looking at the silver-white castle high above, he seemed to have no desire to even go down to the castle to admire it properly today. He hung his head dejectedly and fiddled with the hem of his clothes.
"Hey! Boss Greg, it's Annie!"
A slightly chubby little boy came running from a distance, carrying a wooden sword. His clothes were the most popular style among ordinary people this year, with tight and solid stitches and various small sewing decorations, all of which showed the tailor's dedication and superb sewing skills.
"Hehehe, look at my wooden sword!! I just sharpened it today! Let's play the knight game again today!"
Completely oblivious to his friends' feelings, Pani was still happily showing off his new toy until Annie rolled her eyes at him and pulled him aside.
"Keep your voice down, Gerry's in a bad mood today!"
"Um... what happened?"
The two spoke in hushed tones, and Annie briefly recounted what had happened to Pani.
"How dare you steal from the boss!" Pani was shocked after hearing what had happened. After all, the kids all knew about Gerry's skills and had a deep impression of them.
"What does that person look like?"
"Wearing wrinkled country clothes and leggings, which looked a bit worn and dusty, the most important thing is that a child is carrying a two-handed sword that only adults would use on his back!! It's the real deal!"
"Why does this person sound familiar? Do you know their name?" Pani fell into deep thought. He was so engrossed in carving that he seemed to have seen such a person today.
"Gerry and Judau said...it seems to be a guy named Green, and he's with a boy who's even taller and fatter than you!"
Hearing this, Pani's eyes widened. No way? There were two guys who had their measurements taken for a long time at noon today, and they were so late tonight because their mothers asked them to help.
And when I picked up my clothes seven days later, I remembered that the person's name seemed to be a guy named Green.
“I know that guy! He came to our house today and bought some clothes. I came out so late today because of those two guys!” Pani suddenly said loudly to Gerry, startling Annie who was next to her.
"Can't you stop making such a fuss and talking so loudly!" Annie complained from the side, giving Pani's arm a hard slap.
"Hehehe, sorry Annie, I got too excited." Pani scratched her head sheepishly.
Hope instantly rekindled in Gerry's eyes, and he strode toward the two of them, for he wouldn't let go of even the slightest chance!
"Really? Panny! He came to your house to buy something?"
"Of course! Boss Greg."
"He's coming to our house to pick up his clothes in seven days!"
"Great! Do you know when he'll come to pick it up?"
"I don't know, but we'll keep watch for you! Don't worry, we'll let you know if there's any news..."
"Thank you so much, Pani!"

Three days have passed in the blink of an eye. The people in the tavern have been gradually arranged to leave by Kadi. Even Shiva was assigned to Midland's guard last night. However, there are obviously big arrangements tonight.
Green and Bazso were called into Cardi's room, which, unlike the shared rooms of many others, was a private room. Although it wasn't very big, it had a window and a balcony.
Kadi sat in his tea chair, looking at the two children who had just come in. They seemed to be fine; all he needed to do was run.
"Nice new clothes, they suit you well," Kadi said casually. He only offered kind words when he needed someone; just listen to them.
“Yeah, of course.” Green didn’t know what he was up to, but he certainly wasn’t calling him over for nothing.
"How is the wound healing?"
"Not bad. Just say what's on your mind. I don't like beating around the bush." Green was too lazy to exchange pleasantries with him. Anyway, given his personality, he had to do it whether he wanted to or not.
Kadi took a sip of tea and smiled; he liked children who were sensible and straightforward like this.
“Starting tomorrow, I’m going to infiltrate the White Dragon Knights of Midland. I need you to do something for me, Grin.”
What do you want me to do for you?
"Kill someone."

In a small town a hundred miles outside of Wyndam, people come and go. Perhaps because it is close to the capital, the market here is also very lively, and the surrounding taverns are always bustling.
I've been lying in wait here for two days. My target is William Galanz, the illegitimate son of Earl Galanz.
Raised by his stepmother from a young age, William was an unfavored illegitimate son with no connections. If it weren't for the requirement that each nobleman must send one of their own sons to join the ranks, William would not have had the opportunity to prove himself, and perhaps he would have been a tragic figure, dying an unknown member of the battlefield.
The coat of arms of the Galanz Earl family is easily recognizable, featuring a white cross on a blue background.
Perhaps it was because nobles from all over were heading to the capital, Windam, that one could always see several knights and their squires riding in on incredibly strong-looking horses at the city gate.
Green is located on William's main route, at the North Gate.
He arrived, his simple silver-white armor being the standard attire for an ordinary knight. Beside him was a reluctant squire, dressed in hard leather chainmail and carrying a wooden lance over two meters long, though out of his sight.
With his eyes fixed on William's steps, he secretly followed him in the city, pretending to be an ordinary child.
Many knights on their journeys would rest here, and William and his squire were no exception. Neither in the Middle Ages nor in the present world did there have post stations like those in ancient China where one could change horses. Except when passing through towns, one could only sleep in the open.
It was now the perfect time for dusk, and William and his entourage arrived at an inn to change out of their gear.
Green also wrote a few simple sentences in English and released the kestrel from its cage, which meant that the target's location had been determined and that Cardi was to come and prepare to meet him.
After waiting for about an hour, the two finally removed their heavy armor and came out of the inn. They were probably going to a tavern to relax with drinks and food, or perhaps to buy some necessities.
Green followed closely behind the two men, while Bazzo was responsible for keeping watch and searching for Kadi. Fortunately, they had already gained a good understanding of the area over the past two days, and now they were just waiting for Kadi to give them a signal before they could begin their operation.
"Chirp, chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp!" The call of a mountain bird rang out, a unique whistle of Kadi's, a sound that ordinary people on the street would not notice at all.
We can get started now!!
Green concealed his features with a hood and a face mask, and the little boy moved through the crowd like the wind.
