EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 33 Sad

"Fighting arena?"

Eros was somewhat surprised that Gali would invite him to the fighting arena.

"Yes, you have all four limbs intact. Do you want to stay in the house all day like those female insects with physical disabilities and degenerate into depravity?"

A defiant smile played on Galilee's lips.

"I'm just missing wings, not useless."

"What about you?"

Eros put down his textbook and accepted Galilee's invitation: "Okay."

The fighting arena is the combat training ground of the First Military Academy of the First Star System Empire, and also the arena where female insects challenge each other and train in their spare time.

As soon as he entered the arena, a howling "hurricane" nearly blew Eros away.

He looked up and saw two half-insect females locked in a fierce battle on the fighting platform in the distance. Their huge bone wings drew arcs of afterimages in the air, creating a whooshing sound as they flapped their wings.

Eros steadied himself, the wind whipped by the distant bone wings whipping his hair into a tangled mess.

"The fighting arena doesn't need pretty little female insects."

Seeing Eros's disheveled appearance, Gali laughed heartily.

Eros focused all his energy on how to make himself more secure, and had no interest in refuting Galilee's excessive jokes.

After laughing enough, Gali looked at the thin female insect who was almost blown away by the wind, and finally kindly helped him up, pulling Eros to the stands of the fighting arena.

Eros grabbed the railing in the stands to steady himself.

On the fighting arena stage, the female insects are engaged in the most primal and intense revelry.

They attacked each other with all sorts of fierce moves, brandishing their claws, teeth, and tail spikes... The violent collisions created a huge shockwave that seemed capable of tearing the entire fighting arena apart.

For some reason, Eros, who had always disliked noise, found himself enjoying this environment.

Fighting is indeed a female insect's nature.

The fighting arena is a paradise for female insects.

Look at those strong bony wings, sharp teeth, powerful muscles, and bulging, terrifying venom sacs!

These organs, which male insects find repulsive and frightening, are highly sought after by female insects.

In the fighting arena, Eros saw many female insects that were half-infested or even fully infested. Their colorful insect patterns shone with lightning-like luster, making the atmosphere of the entire arena tense and exciting.

Gali leaned against the railing, took out a pack of cigarettes from his collar, put one in his mouth, and then offered it to Eros.

“I won’t touch this,” Eros pushed it back to him.

"Is it that you don't want to, or that you don't know how?"

Gally's eyes were fixed on him.

“There are reasons for both.” Eros looked at the cigarette in Gally’s mouth and covered his nose. “I don’t like the smell.”

"I can't understand why any insect would like something made by space pirates."

Upon hearing this, Gali took the tobacco out of his mouth: "You actually know that this stuff is a specialty of Blue Star Thieves? I really underestimated you."

“Some noble male insects like this pungent stuff, it’s expensive and smells awful.” When Eros was a prostitute, male insects often bought him and made him serve them by smoking this “tobacco” stuff.

Every time Eros smelled that odor, his stomach would churn and he would feel nauseous.

He thought the smell of tobacco was like poison and couldn't understand why insects would like it.

"The spoils seized from Blue Star Thief are rare, so naturally they are expensive."

"Male insects are such vain creatures; for the sake of saving face, they like to pursue these kinds of luxury items with extremely low cost-effectiveness."

Eros, listening to Gali's complaints about the male insects, couldn't help but tease, "And what about the one in your hand?"

“This?” Gali looked at the tobacco box in his paw. “This is a trophy.”

"My trophy."

Gali's expression darkened: "The final spoils."

He can no longer go to the battlefield or the front line. In the future, he will only be packaged up by his family and given to a nobleman as a female servant. No male insect would want to marry a disabled female insect who cannot earn military merits as a female ruler.

Becoming a female means that he will be bound to a male insect for the rest of his life.

Galileo saw no hope for the future.

Thinking about this, Gali's mood worsened, and finally, in a fit of frustration, he threw down his tobacco, jumped from the viewing platform to the outer edge of the ring, transformed into a half-insect body, and charged straight at the victor on the ring.

Eros stood on the viewing platform, watching the two enormous half-insect females fiercely battle. Thinking of his own fragile half-insect body, he felt an immense envy for the strong bodies of the females on the platform.

Gali's half-insect form was covered in black scales that shimmered with a dazzling metallic sheen under the white light. He had been locked in a fierce battle with his former victor for a long time. His opponent used the advantage of his wings to wear him down in the air, while Gali, without wings, could only stay on the arena by dodging, secretly suffering minor losses.

The two insects remained evenly matched for a long time, and the female insect on the viewing platform sighed. Finally, when the female insect had exhausted most of Gali's strength in the air, he seized the opportunity and swooped down, aiming his sharp claws and venom sacs at the panting female insect on the arena.

Seeing the female insect swooping towards him, Gali's unsteady stance gave his opponent the opportunity to discover his weakness. The female insect's claws pierced through the scales, as if to tear him to shreds.

"Without wings, you still dare to challenge me, hahaha." As if victory was already in sight, the female insect opponent's earlier tension dissipated.

Upon hearing this, Gali tightly gripped the female insect's claws, which were piercing his body, with his still-untransformed hand. Behind him, six flamboyant insect claws, like barbed tentacles, viciously pierced the edges of his opponent's wings, pinning the female insect to the solid ground of the arena—this was just a match; if it were a battlefield, he would definitely break the enemy's wings and tear them to shreds.

The immense intimidation froze the opponent in place. As the whistle blew to decide the outcome of the match, Gali pulled out his insect claws, reverted to his human form, and looked down at the female insect lying on the ground.

Not long after, the female insect, having recovered her breath, transformed back into human form and sat up from the ground. From the moment she was knocked to the ground, she realized that the flaws revealed by Gali were all traps.

"As expected, Gali won." The female insect's voice was tinged with regret, showing no trace of the arrogant and mocking expression she had just displayed.

Eros stood on the viewing platform, seeing everything clearly.

I couldn't help but sigh, strength is indeed the most solid principle, and even the most difficult-to-change ideas can change direction in an instant.

Gali stood on the arena, and female insects from all directions kept coming up to challenge him. The female insects were always happy to fight, and they called it a talent bestowed by the insect god, the best gift the insect race could receive to dominate the universe.

Although Eros didn't like Gali much before, he was still very excited watching him. If he weren't so aware of his own weak body, he would definitely rush up and tear him apart right now.

"The little insects in the Nebula Garden are laughing heartily—"

Just as Eros was unable to hide his envy, the terminal on his claw wrist made a ringing sound.

The attention of some of the female insects around was drawn to it. This ringtone was so childish. What adult female insect would use such a childish nursery rhyme as the ringtone for incoming calls?

Eros was also taken aback, looking down at the terminal on his wrist that was playing a children's song for the little insects—this was the music that Kam had set for him on the terminal, and the voice was the children's song that Kam had learned to sing in the fourth star system.

After a moment's thought, Eros lifted his foot, opened his communicator, and walked out of the arena: "Card?"

The terminal displayed the male insect's face, round and soft, with bright black eyes looking curiously at the female insect: "Eros... what are you doing? I hear a lot of noise from your place."

Eros glanced at the female insects still locked in fierce combat, thinking that seeing this wouldn't be good for the young male's psychological development, so he quickened his pace toward leaving the arena.

However, the voice coming from behind did not give him what he wanted:

"Eros! Don't walk so fast, Lim says he wants to challenge you!"

"Hey, what's the rush for?" A paw landed on Eros's shoulder, pulling his body backward.

Eroston stopped and turned to look at the insect behind him, which was none other than Lim, the one with whom he had clashed last time.

Eros frowned and looked at Lim: "I have something to say."

"Are you scared?" Lim's voice was laced with provocation and contempt. "I only challenged you because you seemed to have some skills last time."

Eros, mindful of the communication he was receiving from Kama, already looked somewhat displeased: "Who do you think you are? Do you think I have to accept your challenge?"

Galilee is one, and so is Lim. Are all the female insects here so lacking in boundaries?

"Eros, there's a monster behind you, run!!" Just as Eros was refusing Lim, Kam saw two half-insect females fighting on the arena behind Eros on the electronic screen and was so frightened that he immediately covered his mouth.

Eros looked at Camus on the other side of the screen, who was desperately trying to get him to escape, and a slight smile appeared on his face.

"You idiot! Those are female insects, ugly female insects!!"

A strange voice came from the other end of the screen. The voice was small, crisp, and pleasant, but the words of the wounded insect silenced every female insect that had heard it before.

"Their true faces are these ugly and ferocious monsters!"

The consequences of a child's careless words are like dominoes; the once-exciting fighting arena quickly fell silent.

On the other side of the screen, the male Kaiser was unaware of the strange situation on the female insect's side, and kept talking incessantly, belittling the female insect's image in front of the other male insects.

Kaiser, the young male, loved to belittle female insects. From a young age, he was taught by his male father that female insects were dirty and lowly, so he firmly believed in the ideas instilled in him by his male father.

It was because Kaiser spoke so confidently about the female insects that he gradually gathered a group of young males who admired and believed him.

Seeing the female insects with pursed lips in his screen, and then looking at Eros's sad face, Kamo suddenly felt sorry for his female insects. He wanted to refute, but seeing the group of young males gathered around Kaiser, his tone gradually weakened:

"But... Kam's female father and Eros are both very good and beautiful female insects..."
