EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 240 Past or Future

"You're awake, how do you feel?"

The cold, metallic space was bathed in light that cast a stark white glow on the walls.

The female insect's vision blurred and went black. The sound coming from outside the repair pod felt unfamiliar to him, but strangely, he could clearly tell who the owner of the voice was... as if he had had the same experience before.

"DiDi!!"

The indicator lights on the repair chamber kept flashing, and reminders echoed repeatedly throughout the laboratory.

As the hatch of the repair chamber slowly opened, light appeared before the female insect's eyes, the eerie green liquid gradually receded, and the tubes inserted into her body extracted all the liquid that had been injected into her body cavity.

"Where am I?" Coughing out the remaining liquid from his lungs, Evanson sat up from the repair pod, pulling out the needles and instruments that had pierced his skin with his claws as he stood up.

"Evita".

The blonde, blue-eyed female insect, with her back to Evanson, said: "The place where you were born."

"Am I resurrected?" Evanson picked up the clothes he had prepared from the table beside him.

“You can think that way if you want.” Kove turned to look at the female insect who was getting dressed and pressed the timer in his palm:

"My little insect, you will have three years of new life ahead of you."

After getting dressed, Evanson Eastland walked out of the Evita Laboratory expressionlessly. Before leaving, he looked up at a tiny embryo that was sleeping in the culture rice.

Looking at that tiny embryo, its transparent body allows one to clearly see the blood vessels and pulsating organs within.

The female insect's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

This is who I was in the past, and perhaps who I will be in the future.

Evanson Eastland followed the path past the flowerbeds surrounding the laboratory, where delicate flowers protected by crystal domes seemed to be relics of some deceased person from long ago.

He opened a transparent crystal dome, his fingertips touching the soft petals, his palm avoiding the sharp thorns, and held the whole flower tightly in his hand.

The whole flower fell into his paw.

Zerg creatures mostly prefer brightly colored things.

Legend has it that fresh flowers are difficult to grow on the insect planet, so bionic flowers are found everywhere among the insect race.

The flowers in this flowerbed were obtained by Evanson Eastland from the Blue Star Thieves during an unexpected rescue mission.

After searching his mind for the origins of these flower seeds, Evanson Eastland suddenly chuckled.

He clutched the rapidly withering flower in his palm and walked straight out, but before he reached the door, he was stopped by the housekeeper:

"Your Highness Evanson, your lord, Grand Duke Cavour, has called to request that you return home."

“Go home?” Evanson Eastland searched his memory for his lord, a mocking glint in his beautiful, almost inorganic eyes, and instructed the steward worm, “Reply to him that I know.”

"Do you need me to prepare a flying vehicle for you?"

Evanson nodded: "Of course."

The housekeeper worm was very efficient. Evanson kicked the driver assigned to him off the aircraft, sat in the driver's seat himself, and ignored the worms' exclamations outside. He took off directly and drove through the family's positioning wormhole to the sixth star system.

The new Evanson Eastland only inherits the memories of the previous one, not any additional emotions.

He just wants to get back into his own sphere of influence and do what he's supposed to do, and doesn't want to waste time on meaningless things.

Friends, female fathers, male lords, insect offspring... none of these have anything to do with the current Evanson Eastland.

Through the memories of his predecessors, Evanson Eastland was acutely aware that he was surrounded by many enemy insects and that he had to return to his sphere of influence immediately.

Upon seeing Evanson appear at the military headquarters at this hour, his subordinates were somewhat surprised: "Lieutenant General, weren't you supposed to be back on the main planet visiting your insectoid offspring? Why are you back so early?"

“Elisoon is being taken very well in the main planet. Instead of worrying about the male insects on the main planet, we should think about how to catch those lurking space pirates in the surrounding area.” Evanson’s face darkened. The previous Evanson Eastland was doing very well in the military. He was promoted to lieutenant general and within two years he had sidelined the former general of the Sixth Star System Legion, Rand. His power was almost completely in his hands in the Sixth Star System.

However, he died rather young. He was tricked and killed by the male master while trying to visit a worm that did not come from his stomach. At the same time, he was told that Evanson was not Evanson.

Because the previous Evanson died earlier than the time planned by Kowe, his body was forcibly awakened from the culture medium before it was fully mature, which resulted in his lifespan being only three years.

madness.

"Bring Dessell to me."

Evanson Eastland strode into the operations room, past the female soldiers bustling about, and sat down in the supreme commander's seat.

The operations center resembles a sphere divided into four equal parts, each representing a different task category. Terminals, screens, and detectors of various sizes are neatly arranged within each section. The largest intelligent spherical screen is located directly opposite the supreme commander's position.

As Evanson Eastland sat in the leather swivel chair, his fingertips tapped purposefully on the armrest, and a complex map of spheres of influence appeared on the spherical screen directly opposite him.

"Lieutenant General, you wanted to see me?" A tall female soldier in a blue military uniform walked briskly to the seat next to Evanson and sat down.

The confidence and composure radiating from the young female soldier reminded Evansen of her father, the illustrious Prince Aesop.

In the Zerg, royalty and nobility are two distinct privileged classes.

Nobles can emerge from commoners or from royalty, but royalty can only be royalty.

The royal family is an extension of the insect god's bloodline.

Domination of the Zerg stems from an innate sense of submission.

Regardless of the changing dynasties, the Insect Emperor always comes from a family that has inherited the bloodline of the twelve Insect Gods.

If this weren't the military, in terms of lineage and status, Evanson, who comes from the Eastland family, would have to bow down to Desail.

However, Evanson Eastland was raised by the Insect King from a young age and was very familiar with Desail, so he was particularly easy to command.

"You've been working with me in the investigation team for the past few years. I'd like to ask if you still remember the Blue Star Thief who went into hiding a few years ago?"

Desail nodded, a smile playing on his lips, and said, "Of course, we participated together in the campaign to suppress them back then."

"Speaking of which, they really look like male insects. When I first entered their base, I thought I was going to fall into a male insect nest."

Evanson Eastland nodded and asked without any hesitation, "If I wanted to find them now, could you do it?"

"Ah... that's a bit difficult, but it's not impossible. My subordinates recently reported that they've spotted their trail in black markets on planets relatively close to extraterrestrial star systems."
