As Afro watched Kowe speaking eloquently on the screen, he felt that something was amiss. He silently despised him, but a serious and solemn expression gradually appeared on his face.

Kuwait was right about one thing: Afro trusts no one.

No matter what kind of worm the other person is, he only believes half of what they say, constantly calculating in his mind how to deal with it and make them lose something if they are deceiving him:

"That's your ambition, what does it have to do with me?"

"Don't you want there to be more insects like you in the world? You should know that if there are more of your kind who share your interests, other insects will have to think carefully about the consequences if they want to mess with you," Kowe said.

“If that happens, it will be a disaster for a female insect like you. I will not choose to believe in and be loyal to you for such vague reasons.” Aphrodite sneered, “I prefer practical things. You might as well give me more freedom.”

Upon hearing this, Kowe lowered his head, curled the corners of his lips, and twirled the mechanical ring on his claw finger: "If you do a good job of what His Majesty the Insect King has entrusted to you, I will recommend you for the rank of Major General."

Afro looked at Kowe, a chill ran through him, and he scoffed before shutting down the screen.

"You're not satisfied with his promises," Evanson's voice rang out.

"Even if Kowe elevates me to the status of an insect king, he can still control me with the controller in his claws. He's just using me as a tool."

So what are you going to do?

Afro didn't say anything; instead, he began to tidy himself up.

Faced with Evanson's doubts, he simply shook his terminal, his smile ambiguous: "Your date with the male insect must not be missed."

He's going on a "date".

Jessica felt something was wrong after receiving the message from the male insect protection association.

Previously, no matter what invitation he received from a female insect, the Male Insect Protection Association would always comply with his wishes. Especially after Ryanley reappeared in front of him, he had not received any dating invitations from female insects for a long time, which made Jessica completely certain that Ryanley had bribed the Male Insect Protection Association.

When Afro knocked on Jessica's door empty-handed, Jessica, still in her casual pajamas, assumed it was her takeout.

The male insect opened the door and crashed straight into a solid chest. No, it didn't crash into him; it was the one who got hit!

The female insect outside the door rudely squeezed in through the doorway!

Just as Jessica was about to look up at the other person, she heard a familiar sneer from above: "Even if we haven't seen each other for so long, Lady Jessica doesn't need to be so eager to throw herself into my arms."

As the laughter subsided, a beam of light illuminated Jessica's beautiful face, which was now reflected in her eyes. The male insect's slightly furrowed brows had not yet relaxed; astonishment already dominated his expression.

“Eros?!” Jessica looked at her partner in disbelief, who had disappeared without a word and vanished from the insectoid world for several years.

“Lady Jessica, it’s been a long time,” Afdero said with a smile to the male insect. “You don’t look any different.”

“You’ve changed a lot.” Jessica relaxed her guard after confirming the other person’s identity and asked, “Why did you suddenly disappear?”

Aphrodite gave a perfunctory smile, pushing Jessica away from him as he walked towards the sofa in the living room: "I'll give you the answer to that later. I have a question now too."

Looking at the female insect in front of her who was consciously looking for a sofa in the male insect's home, Jessica became even more certain that the female insect in front of her was Eros: "You're quite self-aware. After disappearing for a while, how come you can't find your former composure?"

"Reservation?" Afro smiled at Jessica. "Are we starting to need that kind of thing between us?"

“Jessica, I’m back to help you.”

"You'll help me?" Jessica opened the refrigerator, took out two cans of Coke, raised an eyebrow, and placed them in front of Afdero. "I don't have anything here that needs help."

Afro did not refuse Jessica's invitation. He twisted open his iced drink, took a sip, and glanced at the male insect: "I put a lot of effort into applying to the Male Insect Protection Association for this date."

"To prevent you from dating other female insects, Ryanley has even extended his reach to the Male Insect Protection Association. Don't you really mind at all?"

"The factory we founded together seems to be doing quite well, but apart from receiving dividends from your shares, does this company still have any connection to you whatsoever?"

Afro observed the male insect's expression, her gaze serious: "How does it feel to be manipulated by a female insect?"

Jessica said, "Do I have to beat around the bush with you, Eros?"

“I told you I’m here to help you.” Afro tapped a few times on his terminal. “Sir, you must find a way to break this unfavorable situation in your favor, right?”

As soon as Afro stopped moving, Jessica received a marriage application on her terminal from the Male Insect Protection Association.

"Let me reintroduce myself. My name is now Aphrodite Eastland, the newly appointed Colonel of the Fourth Star System Military."

Jessica frowned: "Why did you disappear for a while and even change your name?"

“Sir, that’s not the point,” Afdero emphasized. “The point is that I now have official rank and military power. After you and I get married, not only will you not have to worry about Ryanley causing trouble, but in terms of real power, we can also overpower him and take back the factory that rightfully belongs to you and me.”

Jessica looked at Eros, who was now halfway up to her, and felt that everything in front of her was full of loopholes, but she couldn't figure out where the problem lay.

"It's suspicious enough that you want to marry me the moment we meet. Our relationship isn't as strong as the one I had with Ryanley. And you still haven't told me what you've been doing all these years you've disappeared?"

“That’s true, but our interests are far more fundamental than those fragile loves.” Aphrodite’s eyes crinkled into a smile. “I can help you enter industries that even Ryanley would never dream of, but you’ll need to pay a small price, such as your clean married life.” Aphrodite made no attempt to hide her smile. “Of course, if your second wife doesn’t mind, the impact on your life will be reduced to zero.”

"A second empress? What do you mean?" Jessica sensed something was amiss in Eros's words: "Are you planning to use our marriage for something, and then divorce me after this is over?"

“That’s right.” Avdero’s smile turned colder: “Lianley has curried favor with Colonel Enl of the Fourth Star System Legion.”

“I disappeared back then because of En’er’s betrayal, and now I want to take revenge on him.”

“Ryanley’s enormous wealth is a threat to me, and I must seduce him to my side. And you, Lady Jessica, are a good bait.”
