EROS [Zerg]
Chapter 209 First meeting
“He even told you this?!” Ryanley’s claws clenched involuntarily.
“Mr. Ryanley, male insects have many more chances to make mistakes, as you have said. We female insects should not risk provoking them.” Eros stood up and gestured for him to leave.
When Ryanley couldn't persuade Eros to change his mind, he became a little angry: "Jessica won't even give you a proper title, and you're still protecting him like this? Are you out of your mind?"
Eros looked at the other person and gave a nasty sneer: "Only those who care about the other person will care about such things as titles."
Ryanley's face was very grim; he was certainly concerned about Jessica.
Speaking of Jessica, Ryanley has a hard time forgetting their first meeting.
At that time, Ryanley, who had just come of age, was kicked out of the house by his father. He was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt and shorts that barely covered his body. He stood on the street at night, huddled up and at a loss.
On nights without insects creating the sun, the temperature can drop below zero—Ryanley thought that if he hadn't met Jessica, he might have frozen to death that night, penniless.
Just as he was freezing and his limbs were turning blue, feeling like he was about to meet the Insect God, a beam of light suddenly flashed across the road.
Ryanley wanted to try his luck; maybe he'd run into a kind female insect who could save him.
He used almost all his strength to rush into the middle of the road.
Having just finished a party, Jessica was piloting her flying machine. In an effort to conserve energy, she was flying close to the ground. The machine was well-heated, and the trunk was full of food she had just bought. As a male insect who knew how to enjoy life, she planned to go home and give herself a week-long vacation.
The male insect, feeling blissfully happy, wanted to play some music to relax. He looked down and turned on the volume switch. Just as he looked up, a shadowy insect suddenly darted into his line of sight. Seeing that they were about to collide, Jessica slammed on the brakes. The aircraft swerved several "S" turns on the road and came to a stop just before crashing into the roadside greenery.
Jessica gripped the control stick tightly with her claws, sitting stiffly in the pilot's seat of the aircraft. She felt like her entire insect was about to die. She could already imagine what kind of news would appear on the StarNet the next day if she didn't manage to dodge. News about male insects has always been a favorite topic for the media. Male insects, relying on their status to injure other insects, are more likely to attract public attention, which would definitely bring her a lot of trouble.
Although Jessica, as a B-grade male insect, would probably not be punished even if he died, he is not a male insect who likes to kill insects. Legally, he will not be punished, but he can't live with himself.
After parking the aircraft in a safe area by the roadside, Jessica calmed herself down for a long time before she moved her stiff claws, pushed open the aircraft door, and jumped to the ground to check the situation.
Ryanley was thrown over by the airflow from the passing aircraft, and the whole insect crashed to the ground.
He never imagined that the vehicle in front of him would be a low-flying aircraft. He thought that only those simple and slow multi-wheeled vehicles were traveling on the road. Looking at the hurried dodge trail left by the aircraft, he felt that something was very wrong. When he saw that it was a male insect that stepped out of the aircraft, Ryanley felt that the sky was about to fall.
Ryanley's initial knowledge of male insects was limited to his male father.
His female father was a fallen female soldier, and the only property he could leave his male father was the meager pension the government would give him after his death.
Therefore, as the offspring of the deceased female soldiers, Ryanley was raised at home as a burden by his male father when he was very young. He was not allowed to go to school or go out. If it weren't for the restrictions of the Imperial Child Protection Regulations, Ryanley would probably have been kicked out of the house by his male father before he even reached adulthood.
Because of her bad impression of male insects, Laneley was filled with fear as the male insect approached her.
He had already imagined how painful his death would be, far more painful than freezing to death.
Jessica ran over angrily after seeing the terrified female insect standing in the middle of the road: "How do you walk?!"
Ryanley, a thin, small insect, covered in blood and suffering from hunger and cold, couldn't catch his breath when confronted by a menacing male insect. His vision went black, and the insect fell straight backward to the ground, unconscious.
Jessica was terrified by the appearance of the female insect in front of her. Had she been framed?
I've never seen anything like it before! These days, there are actually female insects trying to scam male insects?!
Jessica bent down and shook the unconscious Ryanley, touching the female insect's cold exoskeleton. He quickly withdrew his claws: "Walking around outside in this freezing weather wearing short sleeves, are you out of your mind?"
Despite saying that, Jessica knew that if she left the insect there, the female insect would definitely freeze to death.
As a high-ranking male insect, Jessica grew up in a family environment where her female father was a highly educated professor at the highest university in the fourth star system and her male father was a gentle and homebody. She did not develop the bad habit of disrespecting female insects.
Ryanley opened his eyes inside the aircraft. He was lying on the back seat, which was piled with snacks by Jessica, with a white scarf over his head and a warm heater around him. The star beast leather seat felt like the embrace of the insect god.
"here it is……"
"This is my aircraft!" a voice clenched through gritted teeth came from the front.
Ryanley was jolted awake from his daze and nearly jumped out of the aircraft when he saw the male insect sitting in the front row.
"Your Excellency, please forgive me..." The female insect pleaded, her claws pressed gently against her chest, "I truly did not know you were a male insect."
"I only stopped your aircraft because I wanted to ask the insects for help."
"Is that a plea for help? That's murder!" Jessica shouted from inside the aircraft, not believing Ryanley's words at all.
Female Zerg that can complete the compulsory education of the Zerg race and understand some principles of flight would never do such a harmful and self-defeating thing.
Ryanley had never been to school, and had never even left his home since he was old enough to understand things. He didn't know why aircraft could appear on low-speed roads near the ground, nor did he know why male insects would pilot aircraft.
When he heard Jessica utter the word "murder," he felt like he was doomed.
"Your Excellency, please don't kill me! I'll do anything for you!" Ryanley cried out in terror.
Jessica: "..."
Jessica suspected that the female insect was either sick or deliberately trying to get the male's attention.
If it's the latter, then this female insect is disgusting, but seeing Ryanley's broken head, Jessica thinks she should take him to the hospital and have his house insect come and pick him up.
