EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 208 Care

Jessica looked at Eros in surprise. She was touched that Eros had spoken up for her, but she also knew very well that Eros did not like her. She could feel the innate contempt from the powerful female insect in her words and actions.

This disdain is innate, even though most of the time this female insect is obedient and compliant in front of other insects.

Because of Eros's protection, Jessica gained some confidence: "Ryanley, since we've already broken off relations, let's not cause trouble for the other side, otherwise we'll just become a laughing stock for the insects."

With a smile, Eros subtly moved between the two insects, separated them, and bowed to Jessica, saying, "Your Excellency, let's go."

Jessica nodded, disregarding Ryanley, and let Eros take her paw.

Eros led Jessica away from the reception hall. Considering that the male insect was not in a good mood, Eros asked Jessica for permission to fly the aircraft and then sat in the pilot's seat.

When Eros dropped Jessica off at her apartment building, he saw a well-dressed postman bug waiting outside the door, holding a square box in its paws.

"Your Excellency, this is a date gift prepared for you by Mr. Wica Anis."

Eros raised an eyebrow. Putting aside his dislike for the nature of the male insect protection association's work, Eros still appreciated their efficiency.

After Eros helped Jessica take the box and signed for it, he followed the male insect into his home.

"This isn't what you meant by getting something for nothing, is it?"

Eros pointed to the gift, which looked exquisite from its packaging.

“Those female insects, in order to win the favor of us male insects, will tighten their belts to buy us expensive gifts.” Jessica opened the gift on the table, revealing a sparkling, finely inlaid gemstone inside.

“Selling it at a discount, it should be worth at least 50 star coins.” Jessica tossed the gem to Eros. “If we do this a few more times, we’ll have the start-up capital for our factory.”

"Absolutely shameless."

"You can't make money if you have a conscience."

“Your conscience may be small, but it’s not entirely absent.” Eros leaned against the balcony window. “Ryanley’s words to you today were enough to ensure he wouldn’t leave the Male Insect Protection Association, yet you didn’t pursue the matter.”

"Have you ever wondered why Ryanley dares to treat male insects this way at the Male Insect Protection Association?"

"He has a powerful background?" Eros recalled what he had seen and heard today.

“He has investments in four-fifths of the business world in the Fourth Star System,” Jessica nodded. “If we arrest him, his wealth would be enough to paralyze the entire Fourth Star System’s economy for several years.”

"And it's said that he also has connections with the military."

"...The military?" Eros frowned. He had no idea Ryanley had such a background. Hearing Jessica say this...

Will our actions today offend him?

"Are you scared?" Jessica raised an eyebrow, looking at the other person with a surprised expression.

Eros didn't mince words and directly admitted, "I am a little worried that this will affect the factory we are about to open."

"So what are you going to do?" Jessica sat on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand with amusement.

Eros's gaze slowly met the male insect's, his face showing no tension, but rather a hint of mockery in his eyes: "Your Excellency, you need to give me some information."

……

After returning home, Eros began preparing a meal for Kam.

Kam was sitting on the sofa watching cartoons, hugging a toy pillow, when suddenly the doorbell rang. He turned to look at Eros, who was busy in the kitchen, blinked, and, wanting to help the female insect, jumped off the sofa and rushed to open the door.

Eros also heard the doorbell ring, put down the bowl in his paw and went to open the door, only to see that Kam had already opened it.

Eros didn't even bother to untie his apron. He quickly walked to the door, picked up the little boy from the ground, and thought to himself that he must teach Kam some safety knowledge later, at least to ask who the insect was before opening the door.

The door was already open, and the female insects outside looked at Eros holding a male insect offspring and their expressions turned strange.

"These are your and Jessica's bug offspring?"

Eros's lips twitched as he looked towards the door. Sure enough, standing outside was the female insect, Ryanley.

"Who is Jessica?" Camus sensed something was wrong as soon as he heard that. He pouted and looked at Eros. When he realized that the other party had no intention of explaining, the whole insect deflated and lay on the female insect's shoulder, pretending to be dead.

Eros gently patted the back of the little boy who was pretending to be dead on his shoulder, and stepped back to let Ryanley in.

Ryanley walked in through the door, looked around the room, and then got straight to the point: "Mr. Eros, I'm here for the factory that you and Lady Jessica want to build."

"Please take a seat."

Eros put Camus back in his room and poured Ryanley a glass of water.

“I understand that Jessica wants to build a toy factory this time, catering to female insect offspring,” Ryanley said bluntly. “Jessica is a male insect, and he has many opportunities to try and fail, but female insects don’t have that privilege.”

“What are you trying to say to me?” Eros looked at Ryanley. “You might as well tell me your thoughts directly. As long as it is in my interest, I will consider it.”

“Is that so?” Ryanley stared straight at Eros, then suddenly laughed out loud: “I knew I hadn’t misjudged her. A worldly female insect is different from those greenhorns; she’s insightful.”

Laneley placed a stack of paper documents on the table.

Eros quickly scanned the documents and found some of his own design drawings and general information.

"This is……"

“To be honest, I investigated you after I left this morning,” Ryanley said. “I originally wanted to investigate Jessica’s intentions, but I noticed you.”

“I admire you, Eros.”

"Whatever treatment Jessica gives you, I can give you double, and I can even find the best technology to help you recover your severed arm."

Ryanley believed that the conditions he offered were very tempting. As long as Eros's intelligence was intact, he would understand that following him would bring the greatest benefits.

Eros shook his head, a smile playing on his lips: "Mr. Ryanley, you said I'm a worldly female insect. If this is all the conditions I can offer, I can only apologize."

Ryanley was taken aback by Eros's decisive refusal. He paused for a moment, but quickly recovered, saying, "It seems I misjudged you. I thought you were a clever female insect, but I didn't expect you to be so loyal to Jessica."

“Loyalty?” Eros found the word grating and offensive, an insult to his insectoid nature. He sneered.

"I just assumed you were a little frustrated because you couldn't put Lady Jessica under house arrest right now."

Ryanley's brow furrowed in a twisted expression: "You think I care about him?"

Eros curled his lips into a cold smile: "No female insect cares about a male insect, especially one that has marked itself."
