EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 20 Comet Class Curriculum

"Evanson's name is known throughout the entire empire. In the future, there will be more and more insects who will like or hate you because you look like Evanson. You can't get away from it."

“I just want to be Eros, I just want to be myself. I don’t even know what kind of bug Evanson is.” Eros grabbed his hair in frustration.

"Those likes and dislikes belong to Evanson, not to me."

“Don’t overthink it.” Alai placed his paw on Eros’s shoulder. “As long as you consider yourself Eros, the likes and dislikes of other insects have nothing to do with you.”

Eros raised his head, opened his eyes wide, and looked at Alai. Suddenly, as if his mind had been enlightened, he understood many things in an instant: "You're right. Why should I care about the opinions of other insects? As long as I firmly believe that I am myself, that's enough."

Eros thought to himself that he had finally escaped from the underground auction house and was now free. How could he let his mind enter a new "cage"?

Having figured things out, Eros suddenly felt that the air around him was much freer, and his previous worries were gone. Instead, he felt a sense of relief.

“Thank you, Alai.” Eros lowered his head and smiled shyly. “I was just being stubborn.”

“Gali used to be a female soldier in the Shining Star Class, and she’s not as easy to deal with as the ordinary noble female insects in the Heavenly Star Class. If you really can’t get along with her, tell me, and I’ll apply to the academy for more vacant positions.” Alai nodded slightly.

Eros was truly grateful to Alai.

Just then, Eros's terminal suddenly emitted a beeping notification sound.

As soon as Eros pressed the communication button, he heard an impatient call coming from the terminal:

"Eros! It's so late, why didn't you say goodnight to me?"

The baby male's sweet, clear voice came from the terminal and reached the ears of the two female insects in the room.

"Kamo?" Eros was somewhat surprised. They had only parted ways this morning, and he had thought that Kamo, the little male, would only remember to contact him again tomorrow after moving to a new environment.

"Did you have a good time at the Male Insect Academy today?" Eros asked Cameron, but in his heart he was worried that the little male might be unhappy or being bullied at the Male Insect Academy, which was why he wanted to call him at night.

"Serole showed me so many things in the academy. I saw so many A-grade male insect babies today!" Kam shared many fun and interesting things that happened in the male insect academy with Eros on the other end of the terminal.

"The principal of the Male Insect Academy came to our class today. I heard he's an S-class male insect!"

"I've never seen an S-grade male insect before."

Female insects will worship female insects with strong power and high mental strength, while male insects will also follow nature and worship male insects with high pheromone levels.

Eros heard the longing in the little male's words and coaxed him gently, "Kamo will undergo a second differentiation when he grows up, and he will definitely differentiate into a more advanced male insect."

"That's right, Eros, you must believe me. I will definitely become a very powerful male insect, and when I grow up, I will marry Eros and become his queen."

Eros listened quietly to the little boy's words. He had heard Kame express his love so earnestly over and over again, and the initial panic and confusion in his heart had long since disappeared.

When Camus mentioned marrying Eros as his queen, Alai, who was standing nearby, covered his mouth in surprise.

Eros's face remained unmoved; it was merely a joke made by the male insect on a whim, and should not be taken seriously.

But to make Xiao Kamo happy, Eros pretended to believe him and responded to the little male on the other end of the terminal in a cheerful tone: "To marry Eros, you don't need to be a very powerful male insect."

A few sweet words are all it takes to coax Kamo Xiaoxiongzi into a good mood.

After Eros hung up the terminal, he found Alai looking at him in surprise: "You're acting like a heartless bastard. A cute little male is confessing his love to you, and you're just going through the motions."

Eros, seeing the envious look on Alai's face, smiled and held a claw to his lips:

"Just listen to what the male insects say, don't take it too seriously."

"Some female insects, even when they're secretly happy, will pretend to be completely indifferent." Alai's eyes almost rolled to the sky.

"Ugh, what a scumbag."

Eros chuckled softly: "I'm just having a good time now, but I can't take it seriously. When the little male grows up, there will always be female insects younger and prettier than me around him."

"I can't possibly compete with those female insects for a mate, can I?"

Alai disagreed: "Why not?"

"With so few male insects, if you want to get one, you naturally have to share with other females. You wouldn't be thinking of being punished by the imperial law just to monopolize it, would you?"

"The female-to-female ratio of our Imperial Zerg is 300:1. The male Zerg known to have married the most females is only eighty-six females and sub-females. There are too few males. How many females are single their whole lives?"

Eros nodded, but didn't want to think about it further, and simply moved the textbooks he had received that day in front of Alai.

"I have class tomorrow, and I don't know anything about it yet."

Eros looked at Alai with a smile: "Please, Class Monitor Alai."

The way he called out "Squad Leader Alai" so affectionately made Alai blush.

Looking at the dozen or so thick books laid out in front of him, Alai casually picked one out: "It's rare to see such a studious female insect in the Comet Class. Let's start with this one."

Eros sat opposite Alai, listening to Alai give a basic lecture on the comet class.

"Our Comet Class only has two military courses: Weapon Science and Technology and Combat Case Analysis."

"If you want to become a military mechanic, you should study the Weapon Science and Technology course carefully."

"If you ever have the opportunity to go to the battlefield, analyzing real-world combat cases can help you save your life."

“But to be honest, there are too many healthy female insects who want to join the army. The opportunity is not available to us disabled female insects.” Alai stacked the two textbooks together, pushed them aside, and then spread out several books next to him.

“These courses will be much more useful.”

Eros looked at the textbooks spread out on the table:

Nutrition of Male Insects

Reproduction Science

Rules for Female Insects

Family Sociology

……

It's all stuff that married female insects need to learn.

Eros was surprised to see this; he remembered attending a military academy.

Are the courses the same in other classes?

Alai shook his head: "Of course they're different."

"Our courses are just the tip of the iceberg for them; practical training and military theory are their main courses."

"Why isn't it in these books?" Eros asked, puzzled. "Don't we learn these things?"

“It was originally there, but it wasn’t very meaningful, so it was canceled,” Alai said.

"All the female insects in the Comet Class are disabled."

"I can't participate in actual combat because I have no lower limbs, Mira is born with weak mental strength, and Derrit is blind..."

"We female insects can't go to the battlefield. If we're lucky, our family will use a large sum of money to lure a male insect to marry us and make us the female ruler. If we're a little unlucky, we can only serve as female attendants or female slaves to lower-ranking male insects. If we're even unlucky, we can only grow old alone and meet the insect god on the day our mental strength collapses."

Alai pushed the textbooks spread out in front of him toward Eros: "If you study these well, your future will be better."

Eros pressed his paw against the books in front of him and slowly nodded.

Seeing Eros nod, Alai flipped through the course schedule and suddenly said:

"I heard that a male insect will be coming to the academy to give a demonstration in tomorrow's reproductive science class."

“The vast majority of them are high-quality and ambitious noble male insects, and they are among the few with relatively good personalities,” Alai reminded. “Female insects always have to try. Although the chance of becoming the queen of those few nobles is not great, there is still a chance of becoming a female servant.”

Eros understood what Alai meant, but he had no intention of pleasing the male insects, so he used Kame as a shield: "My little male just spoke to me today, and I'm going to try to win over other male insects the next day. That's not right."

"Didn't you just say not to take the male insects' words seriously?" Ale asked.

Eros put the textbooks on the table down and smiled slightly at Alai, saying, "Even if a male insect is full of lies, he is still worthy of a female insect's affection."

Alai paused for a moment, then looked up and chuckled, "You."

Eros didn't continue the topic. He took a piece of clothing from his luggage and went into the bathroom with it.

Water splashed from the overhead showerhead onto Eros's face, and his once soft, fluffy platinum blonde hair became wet and clung to his smooth back.

There was a mirror in the bathroom, about half the height of an insect, which was fogged up by the rising steam. Eros used his claws to clear a patch of clarity from the mirror.

Eros looked at himself in the mirror.

The body, which used to be covered with purplish bruises and torn wounds, now shows no trace of them.

As Eros washed his body, his thoughts involuntarily drifted back to the past.

They couldn't even get clean water to drink. Bathing involved being thrown into a mechanical drum with several female insects. No one knew how many of the female insects around them were still alive after being washed.

The wet female insect was very slender, and her slightly curled long hair, wet and meandering, clung to her delicate and beautiful body, like a beautiful painting.

Transparent water droplets slid down the strands of hair, and as they flowed over the worm-like patterns, the droplets seemed to be electrified, emitting a shimmering luster like pearls lost in the ocean.

Eros rested his arm on the mirror, gazing at the beautiful, sparkling eyes reflected in it, his coldness growing ever more resolute.

No matter how tempting it might be for a female insect to marry a male, Eros believed he would never be tempted.

He had already witnessed the darkest side of countless outwardly glamorous male insects in the underground auction house of the Pruto Trading Building, so naturally he would no longer have that irrational, fanatical affection for male insects.

He's not a moth that has to fly into the fire.
