The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Chapter 56 Searching for the Mission

The eldest sister hasn't told Teddy what she's going to do yet, which is a little annoying, but still acceptable. The eldest sister has the right to decide what she thinks her sisters need to know before telling them.

However, Teddy was really curious, even though she was busy munching on her second breakfast wrap and was a little distracted.

The eldest brother, Teddy, and Athena were sitting in a corner of the Im Orton restaurant, the closest restaurant to campus.

Although there were quite a few people at the other tables, this place was relatively quiet. Most people were either talking to each other or staring at their phones.

"Boss, what are we going to do tonight?" Teddy asked.

The eldest daughter, who always ate slowly, stopped blowing on a spoonful of soup when she heard this. "Oh, right," she said, "we need to... um."

She glanced around, as if to make sure no one was eavesdropping.

“It’s alright,” Athena said. “If anyone is eavesdropping, I’ll scare them away.” She straightened her back and sat up straighter.

Teddy wasn't sure if he liked Athena putting on a tough act; that was her job, after all.

“That’s right. We’re going to see ‘Cement’ with Handshaw.”

“'Handshaw? That spineless guy? And 'Cement'...that's another guy's boss, right?” Teddy asked.

"Can someone tell me the specifics?" Athena said. "I think it would be best if we all had a general understanding of the situation."

The leader nodded. “Handshaw is an intelligence broker. After he did some stupid things, we… helped him out a bit. Now we’re going to help him out again because we want to track down… those clowns.”

“The clown?” Teddy asked.

What does the clown have to do with this?

"I'll explain this part later. For now, just know that we're going to see 'Cement' and hear what he has to say about the Joker, and then Handshaw will tell us more."

After that… I don’t know what happened after that. We’ll see how things go then.”

“I believe my sister can definitely come up with a solution,” Athena said, patting Sienna on the shoulder.

“The boss is the boss, right?” Teddy agreed, stuffing the last piece of tortilla into her mouth and chewing. “Shall we set off now?”

“We still have plenty of time to finish our meal,” Sienna said.

Teddy looked at the table on her side, which was covered with wrappers, but there was no food inside. Then she looked up at the eldest and gave him her signature pitiful little bear cub look.

“If you eat any more, we’ll have to roll you all the way to where we’re meeting,” the eldest brother said.

“You can carry me on your back,” Teddy said.

"I don't think my back can handle it, but I think that all this running around lately should be good for maintaining my figure."

Athena finished her chicken salad, and then, under the incredibly piercing gaze of Teddy the little bear cub, the eldest gave Teddy the rest of her soup, which Teddy slurped down.

Now there's another layer of food in my stomach, on top of the wrap.

Soon, the three of them set off. Teddy was quite happy and found walking quite amusing, even though the eldest wouldn't let her carry him anymore, because Teddy's "legs are perfectly fine."

She skipped and hopped ahead, because as the leader's bodyguard, it was her duty to protect the leader's safety.

If a car runs off the road or something else happens, Teddy can turn into a fluffy bear to act as a cushion for the boss.

Even so, Teddy still didn't have much to do, so she decided to take a look at all the jobs she could take on.

New quests will keep appearing, while old quests will disappear if the opportunity is missed. Even old quests that have already been accepted will disappear if they are not completed for a long time.

This task system is not randomly generated; it is rigorous, planned, and involves a lot of data and other things.

Teddy isn't good at dealing with numbers.

[Withstanding impact]

Become the best guardian!

[Rewards: You will receive 1 skill upgrade point for each ally you save, and you will also receive 1 "Rogue Point" for each ally you save.]

Hmph, this mission isn't very good. The reward points are alright, but becoming a "scoundrel"? Does the system think Teddy is really that bad?

[Angrily confront the enemy]

To defeat one's opponent with extreme prejudice.

[Rewards: Each time you defeat an opponent, you will receive 1 skill upgrade point and 1 villain point.]

"Boss, what is 'prejudice'?" Teddy asked.

The leader frowned. "I think it's because someone is particularly... emotional when doing something. For example, passing a law that not only makes something illegal, but also sets very heavy penalties."

"So, 'extreme prejudice' means having very strong emotions about something?" Teddy asked.

"I think so? Where did you hear that word?"

Teddy shrugged. "I saw it in the mission description."

So you're going to fight the enemy with strong emotions? Teddy thinks he can do it.

[Mission accepted!]

That's awesome! This is another way for Teddy to become stronger. Soon she'll be able to learn some amazing skills.

such as……

Teddy tried to think of some skills that were both cool and bear-like, but that was too difficult, since bears are already the coolest animals.

Perhaps it was some kind of incredibly loud roar? Or wings. She had heard of wombats; they always had to jump down from somewhere, so there must be some kind of bear that can fly.

Completely opposite

[A hidden secret lies within boldness.]

[Reward: For every 10 people who consider you a hero, you will receive 1 skill upgrade point.]

Teddy hummed a little tune, tapping his chin lightly. This task seemed to fit quite well with what the boss was doing; after all, they sometimes had to put on an act.

However, this is not the kind of task Teddy wants to do, but points are like lunch, and you have to seize the opportunity to get them.

[Mission accepted!]

Teddy estimated that she still had a few minutes before reaching her destination, so she checked the last available mission along the way.

Operation Claw

Acquire a suitable weapon and use it.

[Reward: 1 skill upgrade point will be awarded at once.]

She shrugged. Why not answer?

[Mission accepted!]

"Teddy?" Sienna asked. "We're almost there. Would you like to slow down a bit?"

Teddy stopped and waited for the boss to walk to her side. Then she started walking next to Sienna, on the opposite side from Athena.

In that case, if the eldest brother wants to use those amazing "healing pats" again, he can easily reach his two younger sisters.

The eldest sister took out her phone and looked at it for a while. Athena was holding her free hand, so that at least one of her sisters could lead her.

Teddy wasn't angry or pouting because Athena was leading the group; her pouting was for something else entirely.

“I think this is it,” the leader said, pointing to the alley between a bar and a laundromat.

For an alleyway, this place is passable. Teddy has been to quite a few alleyways recently, and she gave this one, with its tattered newspapers in one corner and an empty pizza box half-hidden, a seven out of ten.

The leader walked to the very end of the alley and then came to a metal door under the fire escape on the side of the laundromat.

She pulled hard, and the door opened, revealing a small, tiled room with a lamp hanging from the ceiling and a stool in the middle.

There was a brick doorway on one wall, and some of the tiles were a different color. Teddy thought it looked like a bathroom, except there was no bathtub, toilet, or sink.

"I guess we'll change here?" Sienna asked.

She sounded uncertain.

“Athena, do you want to blow this place up?” Teddy asked.

Athena nodded and stared at the room for a moment. "Well," she said, "if anyone was peeking, they'd be busy gouging their own eyes out right now."

Teddy's sister's abilities weren't as cool as turning into a bear, but they were still pretty impressive. "I'll go in first," the eldest said.

Athena and Teddy exchanged a glance and then nodded.

It feels good to work with someone who knows that protecting the boss's safety is the top priority. Although Teddy sometimes thinks Athena is a bit... something else, she is indeed a pretty good younger sister.

She stood with her back against the wall, arms crossed, striking a tough pose, waiting for the boss to get ready. Soon, they would all be able to go out and become the most powerful villains.
