Chapter 20 Teddy's Adventure in Finding Clothes
Teddy was awakened from his sweet sleep by a noise—the sound of Sienna's socked feet pattering on the floor.
She squinted one eye to peek, her gaze following the eldest brother as he walked around the room, and he even put some things into his backpack.
"Boss?" Teddy asked.
Sienna stopped and turned to face Teddy so quickly that the towel coiled in a large bun on her head shook violently.
"Teddy? You're awake?"
Teddy shrugged; she hadn't decided yet whether she was really awake.
"Boss, what are you doing?"
"I'm preparing for class. I have a history lecture this morning."
The eldest sister pointed to some books, which were different from the books she usually kept in her backpack.
"I have another class right after that. I think I'll be back around one o'clock."
Teddy nodded, and then, as the guilt of not helping began to gnaw at her, she asked again, "Do you need any help?"
"No, thank you."
"Ok."
"Besides, I don't think you're really suitable to help me with other things," Sienna muttered to herself.
Teddy's ears twitched. "What else?"
Sienna froze, her face turning a strange red.
Is it because Teddy asked that question that she got angry?
"Ah. I mean things like dealing with that guy Homi. And finding clothes and stuff like that... all that stuff."
"Oh, about the villains."
Yes, those are the ones.
Teddy curled back up in her mattress, absentmindedly watching her boss's hurried movements.
Is the boss going to be late? That's unlikely.
She probably wanted to get there as soon as possible to check if there were any traps set by capitalists or heroes.
"I am leaving."
"Okay, boss. Have fun," Teddy said, letting out a big yawn in between.
The door opened, then closed again; the boss left.
Teddy gradually drifted into a deep sleep.
After a while, she woke up again, a vague worry stirring inside her, making her very uncomfortable.
The boss said Teddy couldn't help her. What did she mean by that? Was she saying Teddy wasn't suitable to be a villain?
That's not right, Teddy is a very good villain!
Teddy huffed angrily, threw off the blanket, and stood on her wobbly mattress.
Her pajamas with the bear paw print were a little wrinkled, and although Teddy doesn't move much when he sleeps, her hair was still messy and stuck to her head.
First, she had to make herself look presentable, so she reluctantly went to the bathroom to take a shower and then changed into her everyday clothes.
Khaki shorts, a cool T-shirt with the word "bear" printed on it, and a hoodie with a majestic grizzly bear roaring on the front.
Now dressed quite intimidatingly, Teddy walked to the door and stopped before leaving.
She has to go find someone.
First, the boss needs more information about that Homi, the guy who's just a drug dealer but pretends to be a villain.
Teddy didn't think much of him to begin with. His mediocre villainous level, strange name, and the trouble he caused for the boss all made Teddy dislike him.
However, finding him will not be easy, especially since the city is so big, and she is just a little bear girl.
It would be great if the boss had a few more underlings...
Teddy turned around and went back to the dorm, rushing to Sienna's laptop.
She turned on the computer and entered the password: Kitt3nsRb3st (Teddy was terrified when she saw her eldest brother enter this password a few days ago. This proves that her eldest brother has succumbed to the consumerist propaganda about cats, even though bears are much better than cats).
She paused when she found the search engine browser. Her first search was for "Where is alley lactate?"
Teddy wanted to search for information about Aleia and Ikta, but she misspelled the names, so she didn't find any useful information.
In particular, the autocorrect function kept trying to push conspiracy theories related to milk to her.
Her next few searches weren't very helpful either, until she found a particularly interesting post.
A post titled "I am Aleja Iqta, the latest bad guy in O'Clair, and I'll answer any questions!"
Clicking through, I saw the entire post was people mocking Aleya and Ikta. It was somewhat funny, but also a bit rude. After all, he was one of the boss's underlings.
After reading through the entire post, she noticed an interesting conversation.

So, Aleja Iqta, besides being a so-called "bad guy," do you have any other hobbies? Do you know how to do something that doesn't waste everyone's time?

Oh, of course, sir! I happen to be very interested in theatrical performances!
The rest of the post made him sound like an idiot, which Teddy found hilarious. However, she did remember one clue.
She opened the school's website, the one that Sienna, the eldest sister, had saved in her bookmarks, and began searching for all sorts of drama clubs.
"Found you!"
There is a club that gathers on campus and then performs plays and other shows for free in the park.
They rehearsed in an old building at the school.
Teddy wrote the numbers down on a loose-leaf paper, biting her tongue with her canines to make sure she wrote all the numbers correctly.
She folded the note, stuffed it into a pocket, and turned on the computer screen to the one with lots of cute bear pictures.
So when the eldest child turns on the computer, these pictures are the first thing she sees, and then she skips and hops towards the door.
She was going to track down one of her underlings.
Now Teddy is much more confident that he can find someone.
Teddy left the dormitory, went down to the first floor, went out from there, and walked along the street.
She didn't know how the old buildings were numbered, but that didn't matter, because she had found someone who could help.
Actually, there were two people, a pair of people wearing nice red shirts, waving signs so fast that Teddy couldn't even see what was written on them.
However, their chants were clearly audible. "Down with the pigs! Down with our future privatization!" a girl screamed.
Teddy walked over to the woman and, taking advantage of her inattention, tugged at her jacket.
The scream stopped for a moment when the woman looked down.
“Hello, comrade,” Teddy said. “May I ask for directions?” She took out a piece of paper and handed it to the girl who was still blinking.
"Uh... okay?"
“Thank you. This is part of a mission to take down a despicable drug capitalist.” Teddy tried to recall the key points he had learned from the book. “He was a terrible man who sold drugs and didn’t share the profits with anyone.”
Teddy received some good instructions, then said a final goodbye to her comrade, patted her on the back, and set off towards a building that was supposedly called the Old Theater.
It turned out that the building was a magnificent structure, with its facade entirely decorated with stone sculptures, and a billboard next to the entrance displaying a timetable.
Teddy glanced at the entries, skipping over all those about band rehearsals and the debate club, in order to find information about the drama club.
Unfortunately, she didn't know the time or the date, so the information on it wasn't helpful to her.
Teddy shrugged, flung open the door, and stepped into a large hall illuminated only by sunlight streaming in from the front windows.
The place was quite clean, but it had a musty smell, like polished wood and floor wax.
There's a ticket booth in front of the hall that divides it into several sections, presumably for selling tickets. There are also some passageways next to it leading to places like restrooms.
Teddy shrugged, walked past the unattended ticket booth, and entered a large auditorium with dozens of rows of seats arranged in a large arc, extending all the way to the bottom of a stage raised above the ground.
The curtain was pulled to both sides, revealing a platform with some discarded props on it, illuminated by a set of pale lights above.
There was clearly no one around, but that didn't deter Teddy, especially when she heard people talking backstage.
She walked to the edge of the stage, looking for a way up. When she couldn't find it, she grabbed the edge, pulled herself up so that one leg could step onto it, and then rolled onto the stage.
“Jacob, you can’t go on like this.” Someone said, it was a man’s voice, deep and serious.
Someone responded with a laugh, "Hey, you know, the show has to keep going!"
Teddy grinned; she recognized the voice.
Once she gets this underling to help her, the boss will definitely be proud of her!
