He tried hard to recall what had happened last night.

In my memory, I had a big fight with my brother over some trivial matters. In a fit of anger, I slammed the door and stormed out, going to a bar alone and getting completely drunk.

The last memory I have of him is him collapsing unconsciously by the roadside under the influence of alcohol.

However, these memories seem so unreal, because he clearly remembers that he has no brother and has always been alone.

No, these memories are wrong! He doesn't remember going drinking either; he should have been on the train, heading to his internship.

Two completely different memories began to echo in his mind, intertwining and conflicting with each other, making it impossible for him to distinguish which was real and which was illusory.

He began to panic, repeatedly pounding his head with his fists, trying to clear his head through the pain.

However, the memories remain chaotic, like a torn scroll with fragments scattered all over the ground, unable to be pieced together into a complete picture.

He staggered to his feet, his steps unsteady, like a drunkard.

He wandered aimlessly along the quiet road, a secluded place with hardly any pedestrians in sight. The surroundings felt both strange and familiar, as if he had seen them in a dream.

He stumbled and fell onto a relatively bustling street, where pedestrians were constantly coming and going.

Looking at the faces coming and going, Li Hua felt even more panicked. No, these people weren't right; their faces, their clothes—none of them were familiar to him.

He felt a deep fear, as if he had suddenly been thrown into a completely unfamiliar world.

He quickly stopped a passerby and asked anxiously, "Where is this?"

The person who was stopped was clearly startled by his sudden action. He looked at him impatiently, frowned, and replied, "Nova."

"Nova, Nova, where is Nova?"

Li Hua stared blankly at himself, muttering to himself as his brain tried to search for the name, but it was a complete blank.

He suddenly grabbed the man's arm and said emotionally, "You're lying to me, what city is Nova?"

His voice rose, and fear and confusion flickered in his eyes.

The man being grabbed was clearly uneasy about his situation. He forcefully shook off Li Hua's hand and muttered "crazy" as he backed away.

Unwilling to give up, Li Hua stopped another passerby who seemed to be in a hurry and asked urgently, "Where is this?"

His voice carried a hint of despair, a longing for a clear answer.

However, this time he was met with indifference and avoidance.

No one was willing to answer him; they all looked at him with strange eyes, as if they were looking at a madman, an abnormal lunatic.

Looking at those people's expressions and eyes, he always felt as if evil spirits were staring at him, which made him shudder.

He hurriedly and frantically fled the crowd, closing his eyes and stumbling away, wanting only to get away from those terrifying gazes.

He dared not look at those people. Deep down, he felt that they were not real people, but rather NPCs in a game, fictional beings.

Strange voices from the people around him kept coming into his ears. Their language was strange, and the tone was different from the language he was familiar with. But to his surprise, he could understand it completely and even imitate it.

He ran wildly, crossing streets and around corners without regard for anything, until his legs felt as heavy as lead, until he was exhausted and could run no more, and only then did he stop.

He leaned against the wall, panting heavily, his chest heaving as he greedily inhaled the air, as if he had just struggled out of the water.

His heart pounded wildly, and sweat streamed down his forehead, mingling with dust from who-knows-where, forming streaks of dirt.

After a while, his breathing gradually became steady, and his mood slowly calmed down.

"Sir, is there anything I can do to help you?"

Just as he was leaning against the wall to rest and try to calm himself down, a voice suddenly sounded beside him, and a hand gently patted his shoulder.

Li Hua was startled by the sudden sound and contact, and his body reacted instinctively.

He threw a punch directly in that direction, then turned and fled the scene without a moment's hesitation.

His heart was pounding, and fear and unease prevented him from thinking clearly. He couldn't even see the person's face clearly, nor did he dare to look. He just wanted to escape this dangerous and troublesome place as soon as possible.

However, just as he reached an intersection and was about to turn, he bumped into two people head-on.

They reacted quickly, shoving him to the ground. Li Hua felt his body being pressed down heavily, and the cold touch of the ground made him even more alert.

He tried desperately to break free, shouting and struggling with his limbs, but no matter how hard he tried, the two men were incredibly strong. They held him firmly to the ground, rendering him unable to move.

Immediately, he felt a black mask being put over his head, and his vision was instantly enveloped in darkness.

Panic spread through his heart. He didn't want to be subdued without any explanation, but the people who controlled him seemed well-trained and so strong that he couldn't resist.

"How to do?"

A voice rang in Li Hua's ear. His keen hearing picked up on the question; it was spoken by one of the people controlling him.

"Let's take him back first. We can't let him be like this on the street. Let's see if we can contact his family later. If that doesn't work, let's send him to a mental hospital."

Another person responded, their tone conveying a calm, businesslike demeanor.

Hearing their conversation, Li Hua gradually realized that struggling was futile.

Although his body was still being held down tightly, his mind was beginning to calm down.

He knew he needed to figure out the current situation; in any case, determining his own circumstances was the most important thing.

"Officers, I'm fine. Please let me go. I was just a little dazed."

Li Hua tried his best to make his voice sound calm and composed. Although he couldn't see the people who had grabbed him, he could infer from their conversation that they were likely the police.

"Officer? What do you mean?"

One of the people's voices betrayed confusion, clearly indicating bewilderment at Li Hua's form of address.

Aren't you police officers?

Li Hua's voice carried a hint of confusion; he had originally thought that the person controlling him was a policeman.

“What police? We are law enforcement officers,” another person corrected, his tone carrying a hint of pride and seriousness.

"Enforcers? Oh, right, right, Your Excellency Enforcers, I was just a little confused. Now I'm fine, please let me go." Li Hua quickly adjusted his words.

"Come back with us and wait for your family to pick you up."
