All-around teacher at the magic academy
Chapter 112 Theory of Elemental Fusion
Leon held a stack of carefully prepared documents in his arms, his heart pounding in his chest, and his steps trembled slightly.
He walked along the path leading to the classroom, his heart filled with anticipation and unease.
He kept imagining how many students would come to listen to his lecture today, and this sense of anticipation made him unconsciously quicken his pace.
At this moment, Leon's face revealed a hint of pride. He recalled his transformation from an ordinary magician to his current state and couldn't help but feel a little smug.
Perhaps, he silently thought to himself that he was destined to become a teacher from the very beginning, and this sense of accomplishment made him feel extremely satisfied.
As the classroom number became clearer, Leon took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His gaze was fixed on the number, then he looked down and walked through the classroom doorway.
The classroom, which had been filled with noise, suddenly quieted down with Leon's arrival. The students either stopped talking or put down their pens, all eyes fixed on the teacher who had walked in.
Leon kept his head down until he stood firmly in front of the podium, then he slowly raised his head and looked directly at the students below.
Looking at the densely packed audience below, the classroom overflowing with students, and those expectant eyes, Leon felt his heart race, and a sense of nervousness spread through his chest. He tried to appear calm, but the documents in his hands trembled slightly involuntarily.
His gaze swept through the crowd, recognizing many familiar faces. Harvey, Emma, Aurora, and Lean were all sitting below, looking at him with eyes full of trust and expectation.
Leon felt especially warmed by Lian's smile, and he quickly averted his gaze to avoid appearing too intimate in this setting.
He continued scanning the classroom and saw many unfamiliar faces, but the anticipation in their eyes was just as strong.
Then, his gaze settled on Ilya. He was somewhat surprised that she would come to listen to his class. But what surprised him most was the appearance of Teacher Vic. When Leon's gaze swept over Teacher Vic, the latter seemed a little uncomfortable and quickly turned his head to the side.
Leon also felt a little embarrassed. He coughed lightly and said, "Hello everyone, today we're going to talk about the theory of elemental fusion."
As soon as Leon finished speaking, a murmur arose from the audience, and the students who had previously attended Leon's classes couldn't help but feel a sense of amazement.
They exchanged glances, as if to say, "Sure enough, he's brought another brand new theory."
The students involuntarily sat up straighter, their eyes fixed on Leon, determined not to miss a single important point.
"As we all know, in the magic we are familiar with, such as elemental magic, they are usually independent of each other, and we can usually only release them one after another when casting spells,"
Leon continued, his voice filled with confidence and passion, "But in fact, magic in this world is far more complex than we imagine. Different elements do not exist in isolation; they can merge and interact with each other."
Leon stood at the podium, his gaze sweeping over the attentive students below, and smiled as he continued his explanation: "Before delving into elemental fusion magic, I'd like to take you through the foundation of elemental magic—the theory of mutual generation and restraint. This is key to understanding elemental fusion magic."
"First, let's look at the generating relationship between elements. In nature, the five basic elements—fire, earth, metal, water, and wood—promote and generate each other."
Specifically, fire can generate earth, earth can generate metal, metal can generate water, water can generate wood, and wood can fuel fire.
The fusion of mutually reinforcing elements can enhance magical effects, making magic more powerful.
Leon paused, and seeing that the students were taking notes diligently, he continued with satisfaction: "For example, the fusion of fire and earth elements can produce lava magic. This magic not only has the high temperature of fire and the solidity of earth, but it can also cause widespread destruction, making it a very practical magic on the battlefield."
"Next, let's look at the mutual restraint relationship between elements. In contrast to mutual generation, the mutual restraint relationship refers to the natural inhibitory relationship between certain elements."
Fire overcomes metal, metal overcomes wood, wood overcomes earth, earth overcomes water, and water overcomes fire. The application of this mutual restraint relationship in magic is more complex, as it involves how to balance and control the conflicting elemental forces.
Leon's tone turned serious: "When opposing elements attempt to merge, the mage needs extremely high magical control. If the control is not proper, not only will the spell fail, but it may also cause a backlash."
However, by skillfully combining opposing elements, one can create composite magic with astonishing destructive power. For example, the fusion of water and fire, two opposing elements, can produce a 'steam explosion' magic, powerful enough to destroy a tall building.
Leon's accessible and insightful explanations are not common among students, most of whom focus only on the direct application of magic, pursuing the awe and power of its release, and rarely exploring the subtle relationships between these elements.
However, Leon's explanation today made them realize that this theoretical knowledge is indispensable in order to become a true master of magic.
The students below the stage held their breath and listened intently, even the most mischievous ones abandoned their frivolous attitudes.
Some students even took out notebooks and carefully wrote down every word Leon said. They knew that this knowledge would be a valuable asset for their future magical training and was worth thinking about and reflecting on repeatedly when they got back.
"Next, we will explain the fusion law in detail, which is the core of the elemental magic fusion theory."
Leon's voice echoed in the classroom, "The laws governing the fusion of elements can be mainly divided into three points: the law of balance, the law of resonance, and the law of transformation."
"The law of transformation is actually the theory of element transformation that I mentioned in previous lessons. Under certain conditions, elements can be transformed into each other, such as transforming water into ice, or fire into light."
I believe everyone is familiar with this theory, so I won't go into detail here. If any students still have questions after class, they can discuss them with their classmates or come to me individually; I'd be happy to answer them.
