Chapter 82 Gathering

“Naturally, he arrived at just the right time. What about the others?” Agreed replied with a smile, looking at Milton who had descended from the sky.

Milton pointed behind him and replied in a nonchalant tone, "They'll be here soon." No sooner had he spoken than the sound of approaching hooves grew louder, and the bewildered knights grabbed their weapons and braced themselves for battle.

Then they saw the flags of more than twenty countries appear in front of the approaching troops, and a cavalry force of at least 20,000 men marched in a grand procession to the Knights of Light.

Looking at this scene in disbelief, Pushkin said, "These... are all countries we helped, and they've come to our aid!"

Agreed chimed in, "Yes, we're not fighting alone." In fact, these troops were sent here entirely because Agreed had temporarily controlled their king with magic. Those bastards had no sense of shared destiny; they were just hoping other countries would continue to descend into chaos. Yes, you heard right—humanity was still thinking about internal strife even when facing annihilation!

After the reinforcements arrived, Agreed asked Milton, "Did you get everything I asked you to bring?"

Milton sneered and then shouted smugly, "Of course we're fully prepared. Here are over three thousand pieces of enchanted armor to protect against soul attacks. I could only bring out these because of time constraints." As he spoke, he took out six spatial rings and handed them to Agreed.

Agreed took the spatial ring and asked incredulously, "So many? Are they all your work?"

Milton waved his hand and explained, "How could that be? Even if you made me work like an ox plowing a field, I still couldn't make so many props. There are some of my own works in there, but most of them are things I bought from my peers, my apprentices, and from the market."

"You've been a huge help. I'll reimburse you later," Agreed said gratefully.

Milton said with disgust, "Who do you think you are? It's only right that I, Milton, should give up all my wealth to support you in this kind of catastrophic event. Count me in when we go into the dungeon later."

Pushkin greeted him with a smile, saying, "Then I'll leave it to you, old friend."

Afterwards, Agreed distributed the defensive items to the knights of the Knights of Light. The extra items were distributed to the strong individuals that Agreed sensed in the reinforcements. Of course, many people expressed dissatisfaction with this distribution method, but Agreed had no choice. These items had to be used to ensure the survival rate of the core force, and the limited resources could not be wasted in the slightest.

After waiting for a while, some reinforcements arrived sporadically. When all the reinforcements arrived, the number of troops in this expeditionary force reached as many as 40,000.

After being fully equipped, at Pushkin's command, everyone mounted their horses and headed towards the Monster Forest.

At the height of their morale and full of high spirits, they could never have imagined the incredibly difficult battle that awaited them.

The massive army marched into the Beast Forest. The weaker monsters scattered at the sight of the human army, and Agred and his men passed through the outer perimeter of the Beast Forest without any hindrance. But they soon encountered trouble.

The flocks of birds and beasts within the Warcraft Forest soon attacked the human forces in ever-increasing numbers.

The horses of the ordinary cavalrymen were instantly frightened and began to run wild. Agreed quickly used magic to steady the restless horses, while calmly directing the troops to counterattack the monsters, informing them of the monsters' weaknesses and helping them arrange their formation.

Meanwhile, Pushkin rode his unicorn Pegasus into the sky to fight against the flying monsters. Agreed used magic to assist the cavalry in fighting against the tactical monster horde. Soon, the monsters were defeated by the cavalry's varied and flexible tactics. The retreating monsters did not run away as they had before, but instead stubbornly dispersed and fought a guerrilla war against the human cavalry.

Individually, human cavalrymen were no match for those magical beasts. Many lone soldiers were dragged off their horses and into the forest by the beasts, leaving behind only pitiful screams.

Seeing this, Agreed ordered the Knights of Light to split into groups of five to kill the scattered monsters, while the other human troops formed an encirclement, leaving only a seemingly escapeable gap to gather all the monsters together.

Under pursuit, the monsters quickly regrouped and fled towards the gap that Agreed had deliberately left in the encirclement. Just as the monsters were about to escape, Agreed appeared in front of them and released the eighth-order magic 'Thunder Pool' that he had been chanting. A violent and huge ball of lightning appeared out of thin air in front of the monsters. The monsters in the lead did not have time to dodge and crashed into it, turning into charred remains by the powerful electrical energy overflowing from the ball of lightning.

Then the lightning ball drifted towards the monsters. Even though the monsters scattered and fled immediately, the lightning ball still exploded with a bang, and the electrical energy turned into countless huge bolts of lightning that flew towards the monsters, instantly electrocuting them all.

The magic called "Thunder Pool" also has a professional name: "Ball Lightning". It automatically attacks all conductive objects around it. When thrown into a crowd, the scene resembles a pool where lightning gathers, hence the name "Thunder Pool".

Agreed was not careless. With the power of the eighth-order magic spread across so many magical beasts, there was a possibility that some might slip through. He ordered all the knights to come over and finish off the magical beasts one by one, and take out the magic crystals from their bodies. Fortunately, the power of the Thunder Pool was not strong enough to detonate their magic crystals this time, so he could still consider it a small profit.

In the aerial battle, Pushkin single-handedly decimated the flying monsters, who, after losing a large number of their comrades, were forced to flee in panic and completely withdraw from the battlefield.

After the battle, Pushkin slowly descended, and the group, led by Agreed, arrived at the entrance to the dungeon. At this time, the entrance was blocked by a boulder as big as a small mountain. Pushkin looked at the entrance and exclaimed, "Are they never going to come out of here? They actually blocked the entrance with such a big rock!"

Agreed then explained, "Mind fleas' psychic powers can manipulate objects (similar to telekinesis). A dozen or so mind fleas working together can move such a large boulder. Mind fleas have a very simple diet; they only eat the brains of intelligent beings. And normally, as long as they don't use too much psychic power, they only need to eat once a month on average. So this method of blocking the door is not only safe but also convenient for them."

Pushkin asked in surprise, "You always go out with at least dozens of them together, so you mean there might be hundreds of mind flayers inside!"

Milton added, "And there's a good chance there's an ancient and powerful mind flayer leader inside."
