Chapter 65 Usurpation of Avalon

The man in black robes appeared outside the royal city. Then he lifted the hood that covered his face to reveal his true appearance. The sneaky fellow was none other than Agred, who had left the palace long ago!

Looking at the magnificent royal palace in the distance, Agreed's eyes burned with wicked malice as he said, "I originally thought that controlling a useless prince would give me a voice in Avalon, at least enough to protect myself. But I never expected to get into this mess. King of Avalon, since you are so ruthless, don't blame me for being ruthless. You forced me to take action. You schemed against me? Then I will uproot the entire Avalon royal family, cripple you, and throw you into chaos! Since you won't let me live a peaceful life, then I'll gladly accept this country."

Agreed had no doubt about the loyalty of the prince he controlled, because Agreed had long ago placed a demonic curse on the prince. If the prince dared to have any disloyal thoughts, the curse would be activated immediately, turning him into a hideous monster, and he would be drained of his life and die completely in just one day.

Therefore, the prince would never betray him. His interests were tied to Agreed's. From the moment he became a prince from a bastard, he had been Agreed's most loyal dog, because now he and Agreed had no other choice.

At this moment, Agreed inexplicably thought of something Mammon had once said: "If you need a good dog, I suggest you choose a human first. In fact, in many human kingdoms across the myriad worlds, the real controllers behind the scenes are demons. Humans are just too easy to control. There is no race more despicable than them. The more humans possess, the dumber and easier they become to manipulate, because they do not understand the simplest truth: 'Power is the root of everything.' They are always dreaming of getting something for nothing and are proud of their ridiculous 'wisdom and cunning.'"

Then Agreed headed towards the slums outside the palace, a breeding ground for crime and the dark side of the capital. There, he was certain he could make contact with members of the Black Hawk Gang. Since the king had already given the order, Agreed didn't mind eliminating that small gang first. It was just a side effect. After taking down the gang, he would take down the royal family. Agreed planned to spend a month getting everything sorted out.

……

Half a month later

Inside a secluded little house, Agas, the leader of the Black Hawk Gang, sat in a chair, smoking his pipe in frustration. Some time ago, the ministers who had business dealings with him had told him that a powerful figure had been sent by the king to destroy them. At first, he didn't take it seriously, thinking that one person could not cause him any damage. However, he did not expect things to develop so ridiculously.

First, his subordinates reported that his seventeen opium dens had suddenly exploded. Then, all the slaves locked in the dungeon disappeared without a trace. Next, even the brothers who went out to collect protection money were brutally murdered on the street. That damned bastard even used those people's heads to make a huge character for "death" and placed it in front of his house, which scared him so much that he ran to this safe house to hide.

At this moment, a servant with a strong voice, probably around fifty years old, came in. He placed a teapot in front of Agassiz. Just as Agassiz put down his pipe and prepared to taste the tea, he was surprised to find that there was not even water in the teapot, let alone tea.

"What are you doing? Why are you bringing up an empty kettle?" Agas asked unhappily.

The elderly servant watched him silently, then reached down to his chin and gently tore off the human skin mask from his face, revealing Agreed's true face beneath.

Agas panicked instantly, shouting in astonishment, "Who are you! What did you do to Uncle Ming?"

At this moment, Agreed casually sat down opposite him and then asked indifferently, "Uncle Ming? Who is he? Let me tell you." As he spoke, Agreed took out his spatial ring and pulled out a sack full of human heads, introducing it while confirming the contents.

“This is your first wife, this is your second son, this is your brother-in-law, this is your pet dog that has been with you for twelve years…” After counting about twenty people and basically piecing together his family tree, Agreed continued to ask, “Do you have an Uncle Ming? Then you have to tell me where he is. After all, you have to nip it in the bud. Leaving hidden dangers is a very troublesome thing.”

Argas pulled out his dagger and pointed it at him, standing up angrily and roaring, "What do you want, you monster?!"

Agreed used magic to fill the teapot with water, poured himself a glass to quench his thirst, and after drinking the water in one gulp, he continued nonchalantly, "Why are you so agitated? All I did was kill your family of twenty-eight people, a dog, and five hundred and forty-seven members of the Black Hawk Gang. Look at you, so scared, acting like I did something terrible."

Agas cried out, trembling, "You bastard, what do you think human life is!"

Agreed looked at him with astonishment, his eyes filled with pity as he retorted, "How could you ask such a stupid question? What do you think human lives are? Human trafficking, price gouging, drug dealing, gambling, brothels, protection money—you kill hundreds of times more people than I do every year. How could you possibly ask such a question? Oh, I forgot, because now you're the victim! Hehehehehehe." With that, Agreed burst into unrestrained laughter.

Argas could no longer tolerate his sarcasm. Just as he was about to rush forward and stab Agreed, Agreed spoke again: "Put down the knife. If you want to die now, then take it; otherwise, put it down! I won't say it a third time."

Agassiz stopped in his tracks. Agreed's words were like the devil's whispers, bewitching him. Agassiz finally threw the knife in his hand to the ground and began to sob helplessly, like a child who had been bullied but was powerless to resist.

Agreed clicked his tongue in amazement and said, "I thought the underground emperor of Avalon was some kind of extraordinary figure, but now it seems, heh, he's nothing special."

"What do you want? You've already won. If you want my life, take it. Why humiliate me? Don't be so smug. You'll get your comeuppance sooner or later. You damned bastard, you'll die a horrible death!" Argas, now completely broken, shouted through tears.

However, Agreed simply replied dismissively, "Retribution is inevitable. Just as humans can hunt animals, why can't animals hunt humans? The strong will inevitably be devoured by the stronger, and the one who defeats the demon will be an even more powerful demon. Your curse is meaningless. I believe that one day I will become the strongest in this world, and I will live forever!"

Then Agreed pressed his hand on Agas's skull. Agas roared in despair as he looked at him. Then, with a bang, Agas's head exploded, and his headless body fell limply to the ground. Agreed stood up. His aura was chilling, even though he looked harmless.
