Chapter 21 The Terrifying Prospects of Instantaneous Magic

Agred's current strength is that of a mage. Normally, he can use third-tier magic by chanting spells, and he can even use fourth-tier magic by overdrawing his soul. However, the price of overdrawing the soul is that his mana will be completely exhausted and he will fall into a weakened state. Moreover, if the overdrawing is severe, this move may cause permanent damage to the soul, which is extremely dangerous. However, according to Tutankhamun's casting method, Agred can only use second-tier magic now. If he forcibly uses third-tier magic, his soul will be attacked by the backlash of the energy of heaven and earth. Agred just tried it and almost caused permanent damage to his soul.

However, Agreed had no doubt about the future of instant magic in his hands. Just imagine how terrifying a mage who could instantly cast forbidden spells would be! Even the weakest forbidden spells would be comparable to a nuclear bomb. For someone who could instantly cast multiple forbidden spells, destroying a planet would be as easy as snapping a finger.

Of course, Agreed was also very pragmatic. He knew that to reach that level, one's soul level had to be at least close to that of a god. He knew that to reach that level, he would have to cultivate diligently for hundreds of years. However, Agreed now understood why Tutankhamun said that the gods feared his existence back then.

Imagine how terrifying a magician who can destroy the universe at any moment would be; even a god would tremble at the thought. Therefore, Agreed believed that as long as he persevered, he would definitely be able to possess unimaginable power.

With this in mind, Agreed made up his mind. The Styx Soul Forging Technique was absolutely a taboo in his life, and no one was allowed to touch it. This technique was already a heaven-defying thing, and the fewer people who knew about it now, the better!

So Agreed continued his diligent study, tirelessly perusing various magic books and combining his own insights with his understanding to try to create new magic. This action once again shocked Tutankhamun. It should be noted that creating magic requires at least the level of a mage, and Agreed's behavior was truly a case of a newborn calf not being afraid of tigers.

As time passed and the sun soon set, Presidian slowly walked into the attic to check on Agreed's studies. The moment he entered, Presidian was startled by the scene before him.

Agreed, his face deathly pale, stared at a small hole in the wall and a piece of molten stone, cheering excitedly. The excited boy was completely unaware that his nose was bleeding from the head due to the excessive intracranial pressure caused by the damage to his soul.

Upon seeing this, Presidian immediately rushed over, quickly supporting the dazed Agreed and exclaiming with concern, "How did you manage to get yourself into this state just by reading a magic book?!"

Agreed, still dazed, said, "Teacher, I did it! I created new magic..." Before he could finish speaking, everything went black, and he fainted.

When Agred woke up again, it was three days later in the morning. Agred woke up in a very comfortable bed, with Presidian sitting beside him taking care of him.

Upon seeing Agreed awake, Presidian asked with concern, "How are you feeling? Come, sit up and drink some milk to replenish your strength and fluids."

Agreed obediently got up, took the bowl of milk Presidian handed him, and greedily drank it all in one gulp. The long period of unconsciousness had left his body in an extremely weak state. After drinking the milk, Agreed lay down again and took several breaths before asking, "Teacher, how long have I been unconscious?"

Presidian patted his chest and scolded, "Are you out of your mind?! Did you chant a high-level spell? Do you know you were unconscious for three whole days? Luckily, the priests who came to help you said your body and soul weren't injured. Otherwise, you wouldn't even have the right to embark on the path of magic, let alone cultivate! Do you understand?!"

Agreed quickly admitted his mistake, saying, "I'm sorry, teacher. I was too hasty. But I just couldn't resist when inspiration struck. However, the gains have been enormous. I've improved the Ignite spell and Ice Crystal Spikes into very powerful offensive magic." As he spoke, Agreed was about to get up and demonstrate.

Presidian shoved him back onto the bed and yelled, "What else do you want to do? Are you determined to kill yourself? I'm your teacher. Listen to me, rest well. Everything else can wait. Focus on getting better first! From today onwards, all your magical attempts must be conducted in my presence. Understand?"

Agreed nodded vigorously in agreement, saying, "I understand. I will not easily engage in dangerous attempts when I cannot guarantee my own safety in the future."

At this moment, Presidian breathed a sigh of relief and then said in a gentle tone, "Then I won't disturb your recuperation. If you are hungry or thirsty, just ring the bell on the bed, and the servants will prepare everything you need. There are chamber pots over there, and the servants will help you clean up the filth."

Presidian then left, but Agreed couldn't stay idle. During the next few days of rest, he continued to cultivate his soul using the Styx River, never daring to slack off for a moment.

A week later, Argreed, who had fully recovered from his injuries, brought Presidian to the private magic range.

Presidian summoned a stone wall and said, "Let me see how powerful your self-created attack magic is."

Agreed touched his nose and said confidently, "Teacher, just you wait and see."

As he spoke, Agreed pointed into the air, and pure ice element instantly condensed at his fingertip. An extremely hard and dense magical ice needle appeared at Agreed's fingertip. With a thought, the ice needle shot towards the stone wall like an arrow, piercing through the wall about half a meter wide. The ice needle continued to shoot into the distance with undiminished force, then exploded into small fragments, leaving craters the size of soybeans on the nearby wall.

Presidian rubbed his eyes, somewhat incredulous at what he was seeing. This was… elemental condensation! A special magic created by compressing elements to their extreme through profound skill. No one was immune to this technique; Presidian himself could do it better than Agreed. But what was Agreed's level? A mere mage! Elemental condensation was an ability that required at least the level of a mage master to control, yet this child had accomplished it with the strength of a mage!

"What a pity, what a pity." Presidian stroked his beard, looking at Agreed with some regret. If his magical talent had not been congenitally damaged, this child would definitely have been a great magician!

The more insightful Agreed appeared, the more Presidian felt those damned bastards from the Church of Light deserved to die! Back then, when he learned of what those bastards had done, he immediately stormed the Church of Light's headquarters, but unfortunately, the old Pope of the Church of Light somehow got lucky and became a Chosen One (a Chosen One is someone who has received divine blessing and become the spokesperson of the divine in the material universe).

Ultimately, Presidian was defeated, but the mages of Augustus intervened and saved his life. However, Augustus paid a heavy price to save Presidian and appease the anger of the Church of Light. Although Presidian was saved thanks to the reasoned arguments of the Augustus Mage King, the Augustus Empire issued a lifelong house arrest order against him, prohibiting him from leaving Augustus. The matter was only settled after the Elemental Academy paid a large sum of money to the Church of Light. However, as a result, the Elemental Academy was sanctioned and fell to the bottom of the five major academies.
