Chapter 103 Emerging from the Grave

Seeing that everything had been exposed, Tutankhamun laughed helplessly: "Hahahaha, you are indeed too smart, even more frightening than Tutankhamun back then. I shouldn't have been greedy. If I had known this would happen, I should have devoured your soul when you first came into contact with the Styx Soul Forging. But there are no ifs in this world. I accept that I have been defeated by you."

But before taking action, Agreed asked again, "You said before that there were more than a thousand people who received your legacy before me, and... were they also devoured by you?"

Tutankhamun shook his head and explained, "No, I was indeed an artificial intelligence at first. Following my original design, I imparted all my knowledge to cultivate one terrifying necromancer after another. It can be said that the necromancer magic of this multiverse all originated from me. I originally thought that this would allow necromancer magic to flourish, but the failure of one successor after another filled me with despair. Later, I gradually understood why my master created me. I am his backup plan, the continuation of his life. How could necromancer magic flourish with those good-for-nothings? I wanted to become a true life form, carrying my master's will, inheriting his name, and making the name Tutankhamun once again make all the universes tremble!! Unfortunately, fate played a cruel trick on me. Just when I made up my mind, you appeared."

You were so incredibly talented—the Soul Vortex, the Magic Crystal Body Forging, the self-created magic—you showed me hope, you showed me another possibility. I hesitated, and that's why I failed. If you hadn't been killed by the God of Light, I might have truly given up on this idea one day, carefully passing everything on to you. But… I still couldn't control myself, control that yearning for rebirth.”

Agreed's soul fire drew closer to him and said, "I'm sorry, I also want to live. I will completely assimilate you. Your wisdom, your insight, your experience, and your knowledge will all be used for me, because I... want revenge!"

Tutankhamun pleaded, "I know I'm not in a position to make this request, but I'm practically your mentor, so could you do me a favor?"

“Tell me, as long as it’s not too outrageous, I’ll agree,” Agreed replied solemnly.

"Could you pass on the name Tutankhamun?" Tutankhamun earnestly requested.

“Yes, from now on I will be called ‘Agreed Tutankhamun Presidian Reller’,” Agreed agreed decisively.

Tutankhamun's spirit closed his eyes and resigned himself to his fate, saying, "Then I have nothing more to say. Come on, the victor is king and the loser is villain. To die at the hands of a genius like you is enough for me."

Agreed didn't speak again. The Soulfire approached and swallowed Tutankhamun whole. Tutankhamun's soul was completely burned to ashes by Agreed's Soulfire and digested. Afterwards, Agreed spent a lot of effort to digest the massive amount of knowledge and memories. Finally, one night, Agreed was reborn!

A yellowish-white bone claw broke through the soil above, and then a skeleton covered in cracks slowly crawled out of the soil. At a glance, it was clear that the skeleton must have suffered severe internal injuries before it died, as the wounds on its bones had not yet healed.

A fiery red soul flame was burning fiercely inside the skull. Agreed looked around at everything and muttered somberly, "I have returned, God of Light!"

Afterwards, Agreed familiarized himself with the new soul perspective, because the dead do not actually perceive the outside world through their eyes or any other organs. They rely solely on the pure perspective of their souls, much like the third-person perspective when you play a game. You can see all directions around you and see yourself completely, without any blind spots or obstructions to your view.

The Soul Perspective is the most advanced perspective in all realms and is also known as the 'God's Vision' because gods use this ability to replace their original vision. After all, in terms of information content, all other methods besides the Soul Perspective are garbage.

The undead are born with this special ability, not for any other reason than that they are nothing but souls.

Agreed endured the intense pain emanating from his soul and slowly began to dig at the ground with his skeletal arms. Agreed knew that he was in a mass grave. His soul perspective allowed him to see through anything and everything he could see. He didn't know which kind person had buried his remains here, but none of that mattered anymore. The key was that his body was too weak to withstand his soul, so he needed to strengthen his body.

Here we need to explain the undead race. Undead are terrifying creatures that are formed from the obsessions of the dead. They have the most omniscient senses and the strongest magical affinity because they are only souls. They are so focused that they are so specialized.

The undead and demons have very similar ways of survival. Both rely on devouring the souls of living beings to strengthen themselves and maintain their lives. However, the undead are different from demons. Demons have a soul sea and can be resurrected, while if an undead is destroyed, it will have nothing left. Its soul will return to the River Styx and be torn to pieces.

The essence and vital point of the undead is the soul fire within their bodies. To gain life and vitality, their souls are constantly burning, thus enduring unspeakable pain every moment of their existence. However, thanks to this, the undead are absolutely rational beings, immune to any negative emotions or control magic. But this does not mean they are incapable of sadness or joy; on the contrary, some undead possess emotions even richer than humans. The real reason they are immune to control is that they are constantly enduring suffering and torment that ordinary life cannot bear. How can a gentle breeze create ripples on an already turbulent sea? Compared to the pain suffered by their souls, any external influence is negligible, making it difficult to cause emotional fluctuations in the undead. Therefore, in the eyes of ordinary people, the undead are a group of emotionless beings.

This is why most of the dead have an innate aversion to life. You can understand it as them having a morbid mentality of "I'm living such a miserable life, why should you be able to live well!" In addition, the dead's desire to devour souls makes them particularly keen to attack any life they see (including plants).

Incidentally, most undead and ghosts are born without reason. They only gain the ability to think for themselves after consuming enough souls. This is mainly because most of their souls were not strong enough in life. They become undead primarily because of their 'obsessions,' which allow them to break free from the control of the River Styx and keep their souls in the material world. The most common obsession is 'hatred,' so most undead are extremely crazy and bloodthirsty. This has led some short-sighted races to consider undead an evil race that must be eliminated, yet no one reflects on the fact that their birth is due to the evil of their own race.

Of course, Agred doesn't belong to this category. He became an undead voluntarily and is a true high-level undead with absolute self-control. Moreover, because of his cultivation of the 'Soul Vortex,' he doesn't even need to kill living beings to absorb their souls to become stronger and maintain his life.
