A post-apocalyptic female soul travels back to the War of Resistance against Japan

Chapter 131 Destroying the Traitor's Stronghold and Rescuing Wang Cheng

Cheng Ying became increasingly anxious. No, she had to find a way to check on Wang Cheng; she was really worried about him.

After thinking for a moment, she went to the room where the group of people who had been sleeping earlier had been. Cheng Ying threw the sleeping pills into the room and then left.

Cheng Ying waited a while, and seeing that the people in the room were sleeping even more soundly, she slit their throats one by one. Letting these little devils die in their sleep was too good for them!

Then she went to the room where the two people were talking. Cheng Ying went in stealthily, and as soon as she entered, she used a spatial barrier to trap the two people.

The two were startled, but Cheng Ying told them that although they couldn't move, they could still talk, which would be helpful for Cheng Ying to interrogate them.

Although the two men were Japanese, they both knew some basic Chinese. Cheng Ying had to go to great lengths to find out the location of their superior.

At first, the two were unwilling to cooperate, but Cheng Ying gave each of them one of some itching medicine she had prepared. In the end, they had no choice but to give in and, in this extremely uncomfortable state, revealed the location where they were contacting their superiors.

After Cheng Ying got the information she wanted from the interrogation, she went to that place to find Wang Cheng.

After arriving at her destination, Cheng Ying searched everywhere for Wang Cheng. She cautiously weaved through the crowd, her heart filled with worry.

Suddenly, she heard a familiar shout. She looked in the direction of the sound and saw Wang Cheng tied to a pillar, his body covered in wounds.

People passing by avoided this area. In this era of war, no one dared to meddle. They usually pretended not to see anything and quickly walked away, afraid of causing trouble.

Cheng Ying's heart sank. She rushed forward and untied the ropes binding Wang Cheng. When Wang Cheng saw Cheng Ying, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, but he quickly became serious again.

"Hurry up, it's dangerous here!" Wang Cheng whispered.

Cheng Ying shook her head firmly, "I won't abandon you!"

Just then, a group of men in black emerged and surrounded them. A fierce battle was about to begin...

When Cheng Ying saw these men in black appear, she sensed something was wrong; they had been surrounded.

Cheng Ying, however, was not afraid and calmly asked, "Who are you people? Why did you arrest my friend?"

One of the men in black replied to her, "Your friend trespassed into a place he shouldn't have entered and saw things he shouldn't have seen, so we have to keep him here. If you're with him, then you can't leave either; you have to stay!"

Cheng Ying looked at them with sharp eyes. "It seems you're not going to release them?"

Cheng Ying looked around. The streets that had been quiet just moments before were now eerily silent. Not a single person could be seen, probably because they had all hidden themselves after realizing something had happened.

Cheng Ying saw that there were more than twenty people in the group, but they were scattered and not together. They surrounded her and Wang Cheng!

It seems that using a binding barrier to hold them all in place won't be enough; we'll have to find another way.

After untying Wang Cheng, Cheng Ying gave him a reassuring look and then put a healing pill in his mouth. After taking the pill, Wang Cheng immediately felt a cool sensation flowing through his body, and soon the pain in his body was greatly reduced.

Cheng Ying looked at the group of men in black and asked, "What exactly do you want?"

The leader of the men in black pulled out a gun, pointed it at them, and said, "You're guerrillas, aren't you? Take us to your stronghold in the city. Behave yourselves, or you'll be in for a world of hurt!"

Cheng Ying had no choice but to compromise for now because of Wang Cheng's injury. Cheng Ying believed that Wang Cheng would recover quickly after taking the medicine.

Sure enough, just a short while after Cheng Ying thought of this, Wang Cheng was already able to walk on his own, and his injuries had almost completely healed.

Cheng Ying and Wang Cheng exchanged a glance and slowly walked forward. Cheng Ying was actually in a dilemma. Now that Wang Cheng was here, it was better to be careful for his safety.

As Cheng Ying and Wang Cheng were about to turn the corner, Cheng Ying suddenly pushed Wang Cheng towards the corner, then immediately turned around, pulled out a machine gun, and opened fire on a group of men in black behind them.

The first few men in black were the first to be hit and riddled with bullets, while the others, shielded by those in front, quickly found places to hide.

Taking advantage of the enemy's momentary lapse in attention, Cheng Ying quickly ran to Wang Cheng's side. "Run!" she cried, and the two disappeared around the street corner. The leader of the men in black, realizing they had been tricked, angrily cursed and gave chase.

However, Wang Cheng was already familiar with the terrain of the area. He led Cheng Ying through the narrow streets and alleys, cleverly using the surrounding environment to conceal their whereabouts.
