My sister is Luna

Chapter 14 A Quiet Change (Part 1)

"Lie down, Cain. Don't move. I'll insert it gently. It won't hurt much. Just bear with it."

Milady looked at Cain lying naked on the white bed with no emotion in her eyes. In her eyes, Cain under the light looked like a little white mouse.

She took a small syringe, inserted it into Cain's arm, and drew out some blood.

Then, her hands, clad in white medical gloves, began to carefully explore Cain's body, sometimes with force and sometimes with gentleness, as if giving a massage. To observe more closely, she even lowered herself.

"Hey, Miss Milady, I know you're examining my body and trying to find a way to resolve the separation, but... but you're getting too close. I'm not comfortable with it."

Cain was about to lose his composure as Milady was almost touching and examining him. If it weren't for her extremely serious and meticulous appearance, he might have really thought that a perverted woman was taking advantage of him. After all, he was so handsome that it was hard for some bad women not to have designs on him. Some of the female mercenaries who had been chasing him before had even tried to rape him.

This was the first time he had been so close to a woman other than his family, and he was completely naked. This made him breathe rapidly, his heart race, his blood boil, and something seemed to be subtly changing somewhere.

He seemed to be contemplating some blush-inducing, indescribable scene.

Doctor, physical exam, completely naked, two people alone, and... no, no! I can't think about it!

"Ahem, this, this can provide the most authentic and effective physical research data. Let me examine you personally. You should feel honored. If you want to resolve this, listen to me. And what are you so excited about? Put away your pathetic and inferior thoughts." Milady's eyes were indifferent, her expression hidden by a mask. She groped around while speaking disdainfully, but her burning earlobes beneath her hair contradicted her demeanor.

"However, your body is very healthy, and your proportions and structure are perfect. It seems that the golden energy has brought you many benefits."

"Thank you for the compliment."

Cain, not wanting to be mocked by Milady, didn't want to say anything more. He angrily closed his eyes, deciding to avoid seeing or hearing it.

"Gather your energy together."

Cain closed his eyes and gathered all the golden energy in his chest.

Milady's gaze drew closer to the golden energy, observing it closely. Suddenly, she noticed a faint blue tinge on the pure golden energy body. This blue energy spread throughout Cain's body along with the golden energy, appearing harmless, yet like a black blemish on a pure white sheet of paper, or like an attached parasite, constantly spreading "toxins."

Cain could wrap this wisp with a tiny amount of golden energy, but he couldn't separate it. Cain had tried to use this portion of golden energy to wrap the blue wisp and separate it from the whole, but he found that although the golden energy could liquefy and extend branches, it could not be separated. They were a whole, like trying to pull on a piece of clay that could never be broken.

"Is this the energy you want to separate? Can you hold it in place?"

With Milady's keen intuition about energy, she knew that the blue energy that gave her a bad feeling was not a good thing.

The golden energy body is "sick," and the blue energy is the parasitic "virus"!

The golden energy ceased to flow and solidified, revealing a faint, extremely fine blue hue.

Milady frowned, pondered for a moment, then picked up her cane from the side, a tiny needle appearing at the end. She pointed it at the blue energy—

Instantly, the cane, made of various rare metals, cracked. Milady quickly pulled the cane back, and cracks appeared on it, causing it to shatter into pieces. Milady made a decisive move, flinging the cane away and taking off her long white gloves, revealing her unusually fair arms. The gloves turned to ashes, and the cane hissed in the air, turning into a pool of scalding liquid that landed on the floor, emitting a foul, burnt smell.

"Are you alright?" Cain withdrew his energy and sat up.

"What intense destructive and corrosive power this is?!" Milady put her long black gloves back on, her eyes flashing with shock. The blue energy was conducting very quickly; if she hadn't reacted quickly, her hand would probably have been ruined. This was another incredible thing.

What else do you have? Bring it all out! Milady stared at Cain, her curiosity reaching its peak.

"That's enough for today. Starting tomorrow, you will treat me three times a day, 30 minutes each time. Your separation problem will take time. I need to study its properties and composition. You will need to cooperate with me for at least two and a half hours of experiments every day. The rest of the time is yours to use as you see fit." Milady took out her pocket watch and looked at it.

"No problem, but I hope you can cover up my whereabouts."

Milady granted Cain protection, but he was only allowed to move around in the top three levels of the tower. Cain had no objection, and the two reached an agreement.

After that, all of Cain's clues and whereabouts were cut off. Even if some results pointed to Haidu, no one knew where he was, let alone that he was in the inner city, "making peace" with the ruler of the Tower family, and engaging in underhanded dealings right under the nose of the Moon family, which had not been wiped out. After all, the Moon family's governing hall was not far from the Tower family's.

night.

The tower gleamed under the moonlight.

Milady sat in her chair, working at her desk. After finishing her official duties, Milady began to ponder. She had discovered many extraordinary aspects in Cain's blood and her previous examination of the golden energy, and had summarized three points so far:

First, this was a material she had never seen before, and its manufacturing process was extremely sophisticated, surpassing all other countries today.

Secondly, it has extremely high extensibility, can be connected and manipulated with the nervous system, change its physical form, and can perform microscopic treatments on the human body.

Both of these prove one thing: this is not what the world should be like today.

Finally, thirdly, she felt that her previous touch had not truly touched the golden energy, as if it were part of the air, or as if there was a huge space inside. But things were definitely not that simple. Milady boldly guessed that it might have space compression technology or even space laws!

The application of space is a product that only appeared in the great age of gods! If it is used properly, she can lead the Tower family to unify the Arcana family and lead the Sea City to become the pinnacle of the entire King's Continent.

All of this came too suddenly and beautifully, all thanks to this man. Even at a great cost, Milady would not give up.

Milady even felt that a marriage alliance with Cain, binding their interests together, was perfectly acceptable. After all, he was the former heir of the Moon Clan, and the two were considered a good match. Their short time together had gone smoothly, and she didn't believe the Moon Clan's propaganda about bloodthirsty monsters. Among her many suitors, he stood out and was someone she could find attractive, someone who suited her tastes—a perfect couple. He also held immense benefits, could break the curse, and would stop the nagging and urging from the clan elders… This was also a form of protection for him, and only someone with such foresight as herself could maximize his value… But she still needed to observe him further…

Milady analyzed the situation rationally while gazing at Cain, who was sleeping on the sofa.

Since it was already night when the experiment ended, Milady still had to deal with government affairs, so she could only make do with the sofa tonight. Cain didn't complain. It was much better than sleeping in trees, on the grass, or in caves during the days when she was being hunted down. It could even be called luxurious.

Perhaps there was hope for a solution, or perhaps he had exhausted too much energy, or perhaps after more than a month of pursuit, his tense nerves relaxed at this moment, and he fell asleep without any guard.

"Sleeping so soundly, like a little child, do I really put your mind at ease?" Milady silently looked at the sleeping Cain, the night breeze blowing through the window, lifting the golden hair on her forehead.

Her usually expressionless face remained as stern as ever, concealing the arrogance and reserve of a nobleman. However, a faint, almost imperceptible smile flickered deep within her azure eyes.
