Parents' Love: My Childhood Sweethearts with Jiang Weidong

The next morning, when Lin Wangshu woke up, her head was throbbing. The sunlight outside was blinding, and it was already noon. There were whispers of voices outside the window, but when she touched the side next to her, there was no one there.

Rubbing her sore eyes, Lin Wangshu sat up, her body aching. She looked at the soggy noodles on the bedside table and opened her mouth to call out to Jiang Weidong.

But as soon as she spoke, Lin Wangshu felt as if she had a knife in her throat, which was dry and painful, and the sound she made was hoarse and unpleasant.

Lin Wangshu was both hungry and tired, so he couldn't eat the noodles on the table. He struggled to get dressed and prepared to go outside to find something to eat.

But when she stood up, she found that her legs were weak and sore, and she almost stumbled. Fortunately, she managed to steady herself by holding onto the table.

Sitting on the bed, Lin Wangshu gritted her teeth in anger, pounding her thighs while cursing Jiang Weidong under her breath.

This person had some strange habit of forcing her to call him "brother" all night long; otherwise, her voice wouldn't be so hoarse now.

When Jiang Weidong came in, he saw his little moon sitting on the bed, muttering something angrily. His eyebrows curved into a smile, and his heart swelled with emotion.

"You're awake? What would you like to eat?" Jiang Weidong sat down next to her and asked with a gentle smile, his voice softer than ever before.

He was wearing a white shirt and blue military pants, and he was smiling at her, looking both considerate and gentle.

But Lin Wangshu still remembered that last night he was like a wild beast that hadn't eaten meat in a long time, and he wouldn't give up no matter how much she begged for mercy.

Lin Wangshu still doesn't know whether she fell asleep or passed out last night.

"I want to eat you!" Lin Wangshu gritted her teeth and said angrily to Jiang Weidong, looking quite resentful.

"Headache? What's wrong?" Jiang Weidong frowned and reached out to brush aside her dark hair to check.

“How could I not!” Lin Wangshu angrily accused him, “Last night I kept banging my head against the wall, and you wouldn’t stop.”

Jiang Weidong remembered, coughed twice guiltily, and quickly rubbed her head. "It's my fault. Shall I carry you out? Consider it my way of making amends."

Lin Wangshu slapped his hand away impatiently, "No, I'll walk by myself."

As she spoke, she got out of bed and put on her shoes. After taking a few tentative steps, she found that she felt much better than before. It seemed that the two massages Jiang Weidong had given her had worked.

After leaving, Lin Wangshu went straight to the coffee table and gulped down several cups of water before her parched throat felt a little soothed.

Jiang Weidong brought out the dishes and steamed buns that had been kept warm in the pot. "Wangshu, it's time to eat."

Lin Wangshu was already starving, and upon hearing this, she immediately sat down at the table and began to eat quickly.

Jiang Weidong watched her with a smile, occasionally handing her water and patting her back.

"Wang Shu is awake? Why don't you sleep a little longer?" An Jie came in from outside carrying a kettle, frowned and asked when he saw the dark circles under Lin Wang Shu's eyes.

Lin Wangshu glanced at the clock, her face slightly flushed. "It's already two in the afternoon, I'm not going to sleep."

An Jie glanced at the exhausted Lin Wangshu, then at the radiant Jiang Weidong, and her brows furrowed even more.

"Wang Shu, you're sleeping with me tonight. Let your dad and Wei Dong squeeze in together."

Hearing An Jie's words, Jiang Weidong was dumbfounded. "Why?"

Lin Wangshu's eyes lit up, and she nodded obediently, "Okay, I'll listen to Mom."

An Jie first smiled and nodded at Lin Wangshu, then glared at Jiang Weidong, "You know it in your heart, don't play dumb with me."

She and Jiang Defu were both awakened by the island's reveille, and by the time they got home, it was already getting light.

When Anjie entered the house, she found there was still noise inside. She was both embarrassed and angry. How could they make things so difficult for her?

An Jie impulsively went to knock on the door, but Jiang Defu held her back tightly. "Are you crazy? We can talk later. How are the two children supposed to face anyone if you knock on the door now?"

Thinking about it, An Jie calmed down, blushed, and pulled Jiang Defu out the door. The two looked at each other, both feeling a little awkward.

Fearing another chance encounter, the two stayed outside until daylight before daring to go back.

Anjie had been worried about Lin Wangshu all morning, knowing she must be tired, so she didn't go to wake her up.

Yafei, curious, wanted to go in and call her, but Anjie stopped her each time.

Seeing that Lin Wangshu was indeed listless, An Jie naturally didn't give the culprit a friendly look.

Jiang Weidong fell silent. He pitifully nudged Lin Wangshu with his knee, hoping she would soften her heart, otherwise he would be alone in his room that night.

Helpless, after dinner, Jiang Weidong could only watch as Lin Wangshu, clutching her blanket, walked away from him.

Lin Wangshu's face flushed, and her toes curled up awkwardly, but she knew that An Jie was doing this for her own good, so she gently hummed in agreement, "Mom, I understand."

Anjie breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled twice, saying, "That's good, go to sleep."
