The daily life of the crew of "Beasts".

Chapter 43 The End of One Day

In Rainbow Village, September stopped in front of a house. She raised her paw and knocked on the door. "Is Director Puss in Boots here? I'm here to report for duty."

"Come in," came Puss in Boots' voice from inside the house.

Upon hearing this, September pushed open the door and went inside.

The film crew rented the house in the village. In addition to the house, the crew also rented warehouses and other facilities in the village specifically for storing props and for the crew to live in.

Upon entering the house, September immediately spotted Puss in Boots discussing the script with Xiaohang.

“September, you’re here…” Puss in Boots looked up. “Hurry up and get to work. The shooting schedule for tomorrow is out. Take a look.”

"Okay." September agreed, sat down, took the script, flipped through a couple of pages, and put it aside. They were just going through the motions, since September only needed to make an appearance tomorrow, so there was no need for her to look at the script.

"Sniff, huh? What's with the smell on you?" Puss in Boots sniffed, noticing a strange odor on September.

"Oh, well, here's what happened..." September recounted her encounter with the three Pixiu.

After hearing this, both Puss in Boots and Xiaohang were dumbfounded.

"You mean Pippi was bullied by those kids in the village?" Puss in Boots asked incredulously.

"Yes, and it looks pretty bad." September nodded affirmatively.

Puss in Boots was speechless: Well... never mind, it's not that surprising.

Puss in Boots recalled when he first met Tianlu, a Pixiu was actually washing dishes—can you believe it? And it even got fired for stealing food ordered by customers. If Tianlu hadn't admitted it himself, Puss in Boots wouldn't have believed that it was really a Pixiu; its prestige had dropped too much.

"By the way, Director Puss in Boots, where am I staying tonight?" September interrupted Puss in Boots's reminiscence and asked.

"Ah, Xiaohang will take you to find one. The residents around here have all made arrangements with the film crew. You can just find one to stay in."

"Ah, okay." September had no objections.

"Come with me." Xiaohang got up and walked towards the door.

After saying goodbye to Puss in Boots one last time in September, she followed him out the door.

The two beasts searched the surroundings and soon found a place that satisfied them in September.

"This is it." September stood in a courtyard, holding her phone. This was the place with the best network she had found after searching around the neighborhood.

“Um… this one…” Xiaohang hesitated, looking at Jiuyue.

"Is there something wrong with this place?" September wondered.

“The homeowner is fine, but their child is a bit difficult to get along with,” Xiaohang replied carefully.

"Is that all..." September breathed a sigh of relief; she had thought it was something serious.

"It's just a child, don't worry. We often have kids around here, I have experience," September assured him, patting her chest.

"Um... okay then, I'll call the owner of this place first." Xiaohang said, taking his phone and walking to the side.

Seeing that Xiaohang was on the phone, Jiuyue picked up her phone, turned around, struck a pose, and snapped a photo.

"Hehe, I'll post this on WeChat Moments... Hmm... what title should I use?" September pondered as she opened WeChat and began editing the message.

"It's a pity I forgot to take a picture when I met Tianlu before, what a blunder!" September regretted her mistake as she edited this post on her WeChat Moments.

"Ah~ Is this what the countryside feels like! The fresh air, the azure sky, the biting wind..."

"Huh? Wait, something's not right!" September put down her phone in a daze: Where did this eerie wind come from?!

Following the direction of the eerie wind, September pushed open the courtyard gate. What came into view was a large black dog and a group of ghosts flying around.

"Where did all these ghosts come from?!" September was so frightened that she reverted to her original form.

"Huh? Did I scare someone?" The big black dog noticed September, who was paralyzed with fear, and walked over.

"You, you, you, you, don't come any closer!" September shrank back, on the verge of tears. The dog was shrouded in eerie energy and accompanied by a bunch of ghosts, making it seem like it had come to claim her life, which terrified the fox.

"Don't be afraid, they won't hurt you." The big black dog said gently, while waving its paw to signal the ghost beside it to step back. "My name is Di Ting, and I'm a new actor in the crew. Those ghosts aren't evil spirits, so you don't need to be afraid."

"Is that so?" Upon hearing this, September felt much more relaxed. She stood up and looked at Di Ting awkwardly. "I'm sorry, I was a little startled and lost my composure. Um, please forget what just happened."

"Hmm...it's alright, actually." Di Ting listened and carefully looked up and down at the September beast. He felt that this beast was somewhat familiar.

"Ask the earth." With that thought in mind, Di Ting suddenly lay down on the ground.

"Huh!" September was completely bewildered: Even if it's an apology, is such a grand gesture really necessary?!

"Lord Di Ting has started again."

"Yes, I still can't break this habit."

The ghosts floating behind couldn't help but sigh at the sight.

"Ah! I see, it's Miss September!" After communicating with the earth, Di Ting suddenly realized and stood up.

"You...know me?" September asked hesitantly.

“I did agree to make a cameo appearance in your production, so I know you, and I also know Mr. Bai Ze,” Di Ting explained.

"I see." September nodded subconsciously, then glanced at the group of ghosts and couldn't help but ask curiously, "By the way, why did you bring so many ghosts? They're kind of scary. Also, what were you doing lying on the ground just now?"

"Lying on the ground is communicating with the earth, that's my ability. As for them..." Di Ting looked at the ghosts behind him, "They are my assistants."

“1、2、3、4、5、6……18个助理!”九月惊了:这也太豪横了吧?!

"Sigh~ I only wanted one assistant, but unfortunately, my master forced so many on me." Di Ting sighed.

September's lips twitched: Please don't say things like that, okay? It really hurts me.

"Huh? Di Ting." A slightly surprised voice came from the side. Jiu Yue and Di Ting turned around and saw Xiao Hang walking over after finishing a phone call.

“Oh, it’s Producer Xiaohang. Sorry I didn’t notice you were here.” Diting said with a relaxed tone.

"It's alright, it's just in time that you're here. Come with me, I'll take you to find Puss in Boots."

“Okay.” Di Ting nodded in agreement.

"By the way, September, this family has agreed to let you stay here. You can discuss the rest with them. If there's nothing else, I'll take Diting with me now." Xiaohang walked to the front door, suddenly remembered this, and turned back to say.

"Okay, that's all. Take your time." September waved goodbye.

Watching the two beasts walk away, September took out her phone again to post on WeChat Moments, but just then, she slapped her forehead, "Oh no! I forgot to take a picture again! My photo with Di Ting is gone!"

Dusk has fallen, and the sun on the horizon leaves behind its last rays of light, illuminating the entire world in a crimson glow, like the final brilliance before the night falls.

As the sun set, Yue Tian ran happily toward home. He had just had a great time playing by the river and was in a very good mood.

Arriving at his doorstep, Yue Tian pushed it open. "Mom and Dad, I'm home! Is dinner ready? I... Hey, who are you?!" Before Yue Tian could finish speaking, he suddenly made eye contact with a strange beast, and he reflexively changed his words.

"Um..." September stared silently at the little wolf cub in front of her. She realized she recognized the beast: wasn't this the culprit who had made the three Pixiu look so pathetic? So this was what the producer meant by "difficult to get along with"!

"Why do I feel like I've seen you before?" Yue Tian looked the nine-tailed fox up and down with a puzzled expression. Because Jiu Yue had turned back into her original form, he didn't recognize her at first.

"Ah, this, this..." A bead of cold sweat slowly trickled down September's forehead: What should I do? This is a ruthless person who dares to bring down even a Pixiu. Can I afford to offend him?

Putting aside the wondrous encounter between September and the Moon Sky for now, let's turn our attention back to the Pixiu brothers.

Inside a house in Caiyun Village, the old goat was sitting at the dining table. He looked at the food on the table that was getting cold, and then at the sky that was about to get dark. He felt that he had been stood up again.

"Knock knock knock." A knock came at the door. The old goat was startled at first, then hurriedly got up to open the door.

"Old man Yang, are you preparing dinner? Where is it? I'm starving!" The first person to enter after the door opened was Tianlu. As soon as he entered the house, he looked around hungry. When he saw the food on the table, Tianlu pounced on it without hesitation.

"Tianlu, is there nothing else on your mind besides eating?" Baijie followed Tianlu into the room and complained speechlessly. They had made up before, after all, they were brothers, and they got over their anger quickly.

"You've finally arrived! If you hadn't come soon, I would have gone to bed." After Bixie came in, the old goat closed the door and complained, "Are all you mythical beasts so punctual? It's almost dark by the time you arrive."

"Uh...sorry." Such concise language clearly came from Bixie.

"Sigh~ Never mind." The old goat looked at Bixie, knowing that there was no point in complaining to him. Based on his understanding of the three Pixiu, the fact that they were so late was definitely due to the other two.

As for the other two in our old goat's heart, one is currently eating, and the other is fighting for food.

"Hey! Tianlu! Why are you eating so fast? Leave some for me!" Baijie tried his best to snatch the food from Tianlu's mouth.

(Just as ancient apes snatched food from tigers' mouths, today I use my hundred-fold skin to steal rice.)

Seeing that the two creatures were so engrossed in eating that they hadn't even noticed what he had said, the old goat sighed helplessly again: "Sigh~ Do as you please, this old man is going to rest."

After watching the old goat enter the bedroom, Bixie turned back to look at his two younger brothers and shook his head helplessly: "How can you two survive without my care?"
