Chapter 92: The Realization of the Ground of No Remaining Support (VI) "Meritorious Virtues Fill the Sky, Blessings Benefit the Worlds for All Generations"

In the vast Central Plains, there lies a place called Qingping Town. Most of its inhabitants make their livings from farming, leading simple and ordinary lives. However, in recent years, Qingping Town has been struck by a rare drought. The land has cracked and the crops have withered. The people are distraught, staring at the parched fields with despair and helplessness in their eyes.

Though invisible, Ah Ming's Dharmakaya constantly watches over the suffering of sentient beings. The power of his merit began to quietly operate throughout this land. One day, the sky suddenly became overcast, obscuring the blazing sun. A gentle breeze blew, bringing a long-awaited coolness. The town's elders gazed at the sky in amazement, muttering to themselves, "Is this a sign from Heaven?"

Young farmer Ah Fu's family was already impoverished, and the drought had made his life even more difficult. He gazed at his nearly barren fields, filled with worry. Just as he felt hopeless, he suddenly noticed a clear spring seeping from a dry well beside the field. Ah Fu's eyes widened in disbelief. He hurried home, fetched a bucket, and carefully drew water. The clear spring water seemed like the promise of life, and a long-lost smile broke out on Ah Fu's face.

As the spring continued to gush, water sources began to appear in other parts of the town. Dry rivers began to flow, and the withered trees gradually began to grow green again. At the home of Widow Li, the hardest hit by the drought, she worried about her family's lack of food. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. She opened it and saw a stranger who looked like a businessman standing in the doorway.

"Sister-in-law, I am a businessman passing by here. I heard that this place was hit by a disaster, so I came here to deliver some food and daily necessities." The businessman said with a smile.

Widow Li's eyes were filled with tears as she said gratefully, "Thank you so much, benefactor, but I have no way to repay you."

The businessman shook his head and said, "You're welcome, sister-in-law. There is a cycle of cause and effect in this world. Helping others is also a way to accumulate virtue and do good deeds." After that, he left the food and items and left.

In the town's school, Mr. Lin is teaching poetry and literature to the children. Most of these children come from poor families, but they are full of a thirst for knowledge. Mr. Lin has always hoped to provide them with better educational resources, but due to the town's poverty, this is difficult to achieve.

One day, Master Lin walked into the school and found a new collection of books and study supplies on the desk. He was deeply surprised and asked his students, but no one knew who had done it. Master Lin knew it must be a gift from heaven. Looking at these precious school supplies, he vowed to raise these children to become talented individuals, teaching them gratitude and kindness so they could give back to society in the future.

On the spiritual level, a young scholar in the town named Su Jin had always been interested in Buddhism, but due to his dull aptitude, he had always found it difficult to grasp the profound meanings of the Buddhist scriptures. However, since the drought turned around, he found that his thinking seemed to have become clearer, and when he recited the Buddhist scriptures, he could now gradually comprehend passages that had previously been difficult to understand.

Su Jin was filled with surprise and confusion. He went to the small temple in town and asked the elder for advice. The elder looked at Su Jin, smiled and said, "This is the blessing of the merits of Buddhism. You should cherish this opportunity and practice diligently."

After hearing this, Su Jin's resolve to cultivate became even stronger. He began to study the Buddhist scriptures more diligently. In the process, he gradually learned to introspect his own heart, becoming aware of his greed, anger, and delusion. Whenever distracting thoughts arose, he would recall the teachings of the Buddhist scriptures and restrain them with mindfulness. This was his dedication to spiritual practice. As he continuously corrected his inner thoughts, his understanding of the Dharma deepened, and he gradually advanced toward higher realms of spiritual practice. This was the initial manifestation of the fruit of his practice.

In the far northern grasslands, there lived a nomadic tribe. They lived wherever there was water and grass. They were hospitable, but they also often faced threats from wolves and diseases.

The power of Amin's merit extended to the grasslands. One night, when the wolves attacked again, the tribe's warriors discovered that after approaching the camp for a distance, the wolves suddenly stopped advancing and turned away. The warriors were deeply surprised; they had never encountered such a situation before.

The old shaman of the tribe felt a mysterious power protecting the tribe. He stood in the center of the camp, holding a staff, muttering something, expressing his gratitude to this mysterious power.

In the tribe, a young herder named Bater's mother suddenly fell seriously ill. Desperate, Bater searched for herbs and doctors, but medical care on the grasslands was limited, leaving him feeling hopeless. Just then, a wandering healer passed by the tribe. Moved by Bater's filial piety, the healer decided to help.

The miracle doctor used his superb medical skills, combined with herbs from the grassland, to quickly cure Bater's mother's illness. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Bater asked the miracle doctor why he had come to this grassland. The miracle doctor smiled and said, "I was traveling, and suddenly a feeling came to my heart. It seemed as if a force had led me to this place. I must have a connection with this land, and I am just a part of that connection."

Bater knew this was a divine intervention. After this incident, he was filled with awe at the mystical powers of the world and began to seek spiritual and moral advice from the tribe's elder shaman. The shaman took the opportunity to share some basic Buddhist teachings, and the seeds of Buddhism were planted in Bater's heart. While herding, he began to contemplate the meaning of life and the value of compassion, and his heart gradually shifted from a simple herder's heart to a pursuit of spiritual liberation.

In the prosperous southern city of Jinling, there lived a wealthy merchant named Mr. Wang. He had spent his life pursuing wealth. Despite his vast fortune, he felt a deep emptiness within. He often felt lonely and lost. Although he was surrounded by many wives, concubines, and servants, no one could truly understand his heart.

Amin's meritorious service also affected Master Wang. One day, while strolling in his garden, Master Wang suddenly saw a remarkable lotus blossoming in the pond. The lotus emanated a soft glow, its petals translucent and shimmering, as if it had come from a fairyland. Master Wang was captivated by the flower. As he approached it, a sense of peace welled up within him that he had never experienced before.

At that moment, a man who looked like a monk appeared before him. He clasped his hands together and said, "Donor, everything in this world has its destiny. Wealth can bring material comfort, but it cannot fill the emptiness within. Only the wisdom of Buddhism can help you find your true destiny."

Master Wang looked at the monk with a hint of disdain in his heart: "Monk, please don't speak nonsense here. I have worked hard all my life to achieve my current status and wealth. Why can't you satisfy me with what you say?"

The monk smiled faintly and said, "Donor, why don't you calm down and think about your life? Have you ever felt a little guilty about the people you hurt for profit and the beautiful things you lost in the pursuit of wealth?"

Master Wang was deeply moved by the monk's words. He began to reflect on his life. The competitors he had suppressed, the family members he had neglected, all pierced his heart like sharp blades. A look of pain crossed his face, and he slowly said, "Monk, you are right. Although I am rich, I have lost so much."

The monk looked at Master Wang and said, "If you can let go of your obsessions, treat others with compassion, and use your wealth to do good deeds, you will not only benefit others but also find inner peace."

Master Wang pondered for a moment, then said, "Monk, what should I do?"

The monk said, "You can build a school in the city to support poor students in their studies. You can also open a porridge factory to help the hungry people. These are all good deeds and the beginning of your path to spiritual practice."

After hearing this, Mr. Wang felt a sense of purpose. He began to follow the monk's advice, and in the process, he experienced the joy of helping others, a joy he had never experienced while chasing wealth. Gradually, his inner emptiness and confusion were overcome, and he began to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism, taking the first step on the path of spiritual practice.

With his boundless merit, Amin bestowed material and spiritual blessings upon diverse individuals in diverse regions, from the common people of Qingping Town, the herders of the northern grasslands, to the wealthy merchants of Jinling City. These blessings, like spring rain, nourish all living things, providing relief in times of adversity, guidance in times of confusion, and support in their spiritual practice. Through these means, he integrated the wisdom and compassion of the Yogacarabhumi Sutra into the lives and practices of all beings, enabling them to practice the Dharma in diverse contexts and reap the fruits of their practice. This, in turn, promoted the widespread dissemination and promotion of the Dharma, allowing the radiance of his merit to shine eternally upon all beings for eternity.
