Chapter 4 Exploration of the Online World
Zhang Wanqing stood at the entrance of the library's electronic reading room, surveying everything before her with a curious yet bewildered gaze. Rows of computer screens flashed a cold blue light, and people's fingertips danced swiftly across keyboards, clicking their mice, silently communicating with the world. For a woman from the Tang Dynasty, all of this seemed so unfamiliar and unbelievable.
With the help of the librarian, Zhang Wanqing sat down in front of a computer. Her eyes fell on the keyboard. The small keys were neatly arranged, but she felt at a loss as to where to start.
The administrator, a warm-hearted middle-aged woman, patiently explained the basic computer operations to Zhang Wanqing. Zhang Wanqing listened attentively, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"This is the power button. Press it and the computer will start." The administrator said as he demonstrated.
Zhang Wanqing carefully stretched out her finger and gently pressed the power button. As the computer started up and the screen gradually lit up, she couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
"These are letters, one for each key." The administrator pointed to the letter keys on the keyboard and continued explaining.
"It's amazing that these tiny symbols can form so many words and sentences." Zhang Wanqing's fingers gently touched the keyboard.
She began to try typing on the keyboard. She was a little unfamiliar at first, but soon she mastered the basic input method. Her eyes revealed a hint of excitement, as if she had opened the door to a new world.
Zhang Wanqing learned how to use a browser and input URLs. Her eyes brightened as the web pages loaded.
"Is this the Internet? It's amazing that I can browse so much information." Zhang Wanqing exclaimed.
She began browsing various websites, from news to history, from science to literature. Like a voracious seeker of knowledge, she was eager to absorb all that was there. “This world has so many mysteries waiting for me to explore,” she thought, her heart filled with curiosity and excitement.
She began to search for information about the Tang Dynasty. When she saw those familiar historical figures and events, tears welled up in her eyes. "This is my hometown, where I want to go back." Her heart was filled with nostalgia and emotion.
Zhang Wanqing began to focus on collecting information about the Tang Dynasty. She wanted to learn more about the history of her own era. Her eyes were focused and serious, and her fingers danced quickly on the keyboard, typing one keyword after another.
"These materials may help me better understand this era."
She collected information about the politics, economy, culture, technology and other aspects of the Tang Dynasty. She read every article carefully and recorded every important piece of information.
“This digital world, although completely different from the one I’m familiar with, is also full of infinite possibilities.”
Zhang Wanqing sat in the library's electronic reading room, her eyes glued to the computer screen, her fingers tapping away at the keyboard. After a period of study, she had become adept at searching online. Today, her goal was to find a time-space rift and a way to travel back to the Tang Dynasty.
Zhang Wanqing's fingers tapped lightly on the keyboard, and a search term appeared on the screen: "Spacetime Rift." She clicked on the search, and instantly, countless results filled the screen. Her eyes scanned them quickly, searching for possible clues.
“In modern times, information is as vast as the ocean, and I am like an explorer looking for the tip of a needle in the ocean.”
She clicked on a webpage about quantum mechanics, which mentioned theories of parallel universes and space-time tunnels. Although she found much of the content difficult to understand, she read it carefully, hoping to find some useful information.
"If space-time rifts really exist, then where are they?" she murmured, her eyes flashing with curiosity and desire.
Zhang Wanqing continued her search, her eyes landing on web pages about ancient myths and legends. She discovered that myths from around the world contained descriptions of time travel. "I'd only read ancient Chinese books before, but I never imagined that people in faraway countries had also discovered the secrets of time and space," she thought, her heart filled with wonder and reflection.
She read every story carefully, from the goddess of time and space in Greek mythology to the rainbow bridge in Norse mythology to the Kunlun fairyland in Chinese mythology, trying to find some common points in these myths, hoping to find a clue to travel back in time.
“These myths may be more than just stories,” she said softly, her eyes gleaming with wisdom.
Zhang Wanqing began to delve into more scientific material. She read about everything from relativity to quantum entanglement, from black hole theory to multidimensional space. "Modern science has actually touched upon the mysteries of space and time," she thought, filled with awe and curiosity.
She began to try to understand these complex theories. Although many of them were beyond her knowledge, she did not give up. She knew that these theories might be the key to her traveling back to the Tang Dynasty.
“If I can master this knowledge, maybe I can find my way back,” she said firmly.
After several days of research and study, Zhang Wanqing began to organize the information she had collected, comparing myths, ancient texts, and modern scientific theories, trying to find connections between them.
She began to draw a giant mind map, connecting all the information. From the ancient Kunlun Wonderland to the modern quantum tunnel, from the mythical goddess of time and space to the parallel universes in science, her mind jumped between these pieces of information, trying to find a clear path.
"These clues are like fragments, and I need to piece them together." She said softly, with a glint of wisdom in her eyes.
Perhaps from these materials, she could find a new way to travel through time. Zhang Yuqing was a well-read lady in ancient times, and now she is still a smart girl who loves reading and studying.
